A delightful, flexible apartment with one dedicated bedroom and 2 living areas, one of which can sleep an additional 3 people. Set in the centre of the New Town in Edinburgh. Just a 10-minute walk from Princes Street with many local restaurants, pubs and parks. No dogs and open gas fires make it unsuitable for young children. Sleeps 4 comfortably. Minimum 5 nights.
Tom was an incredible host. Flat was lovely! Felt like we were visiting family. Marshmallow Lady, Hata and Stockbridge were all an easy walk away. Getting groceries at Tescos was an Easy walk as well. Around the back if the property was a great park for kids and a short cut to some great shops. Buses were easy to take to and from the city as well as to the Port of Leith. Only issue we had was the flight of steep stairs, but weâre old! Itâs Edinburgh⊠stairs and hills are everywhere! Bus 8/9 Muirhouse will drop you off right infront of the building!
Beautiful large flat with 2 separate toilets and one large modern shower, two living areas and 2 TVs in a beautiful quiet neighborhood. Nice kitchen and combo washer/dryerSome things to be aware of:- there are about 45 wide spiral steps to get up to the flat and no elevator/lift. The steps are not super well lit so you may need to use your cell phone flashlight - it is about a 10-15 minute walk to the main shopping street in Edinburgh (Princes Street) and the walk is uphill. There are a lot of hills in Edinburgh! Then about another 10 min walk uphill to the main tourist street the Royal Mile- there are two Lothian bus stops close to the flat and you can tap your credit card on the bus and it wonât charge you once you hit the daily maximum - there is a combo washer/dryer in the flat- we took the City Adventures hop on/hop off buses and they were very good. They have three lines - red with recorded commentary, green with a live guide and blue which goes away from the Royal Mile and towards the water. Donât miss the blue line if you have time as it goes down to the Royal Botanic Garden (you can also take the city Lothian bus) and the waterfront at the Firth of Forth. We did not go to the Royal Yacht Britannia but heard good things about the tour- we took a couple of Rabbieâs minibus day tours with live guides which were both very good. They leave from the Edinburgh bus station- overall this is a lovely place to stay if you donât mind some walking
Ideal location, very quiet apartment with a lot of character. All the necessary ingredients are present in the kitchen and Tom was very attentive to all our questions. Very plesant stay to start our trip!
Honestly, the profile pictures didn't do this flat justice. It is beautiful. The high ceilings were stunning. We appreciated the cozy, comfortable interiors. There are two normal beds and we used a pull-out coach for the third. We didn't use the kitchen much more than quick breakfasts but seems to have all the necessities. The location is definitely walkable to the Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, University of Edinburgh and it's proximity to the trams allowed easy access to other areas of the city. Nearby dining options were numerous and highly recommend reservations to Dishoom. Tom was an incredible host with a super fast response time. Very kind and accomodating.
Lovely property with lots of colour and tasteful art and big comfy chairs inviting you to settle in with one of the many books on show. Super quiet at night but easy walk or bus to the heart of all Edinburgh has on offer. We had a ball. Thankyou Tom!
Excellent stay, would highly recommend Tomâs flat. Very clean and spacious light filled flat. Tom was very quick to respond to our questions. Check in was easy and Tom was very helpful and let us store our luggage while apartment was being cleaned. The flat had everything that one would need for a great stay. Close to old Town only 15 min walk, flat is in a very quiet area close to supermarket and great local pubs and restaurants cafes. Excellent.
Stay was wonderful. Owner is noted Scottish author Tom Wood. Flat is very comfortable, well furnished and decorated. Lots of books, from works of literature to notable fiction writers. Centrally located, within walking distance to public transportation, pubs, restaurants. A perfect base to explore Edinburgh. Communication with Tom was easy. We enjoyed our visit with him!
