Perfect for sightseeing, two bedroom flat, walking distance from Hyde Park.
Clean and modern Teo bedroom flat, in a central location, not luxury but comfortable, close to many restaurants, shops and transport, ideal for sightseeing. Come and stay between locals and get east access to visit London, close to Hyde Park, portobello, Notting Hill and get buses on your door step, plenty of restaurants and shops nearby
This accommodation is exactly as described. Basic but clean, comfortable and has everything you need for a stay over in central London. The area surrounding it couldn't be better, everything you need is on the doorstep!
The location of the flat, easy access to public transport, supermarkets and restaurants was definitely 5 stars. We found the flat itself to be adequate for our 4 night stay.
Even after expressing concerns with the host ahead of time about recent reviews, we showed up to dirty beds from the last people, dirty bath towels draped around the unit, smelly trash in kitchen and entry way, which made the whole place stink. Beyond this, the building is a dump, avoid this place.
Would recommend if you're looking for a well priced space in London. Lots of quirks with this place but it was clean, and it had a nice hot shower. Lots of coffee shops, grocery stores and pubs within easy walking distance. The listing says that there's a dryer, but it's a drying rack. Not overly important unless you're hoping to clean your laundry before continuing on your journey.
Manage expectations. Not luxury and small things should be improved
Honestly, this is not a glamorous place, but the cost and other reviews were justified. Not the cleanest and some basics like toilet roll holders and door knobs on front door and inside bathroom should be added. Some electrical sockets hanging out of walls. Some windows wouldnât close. Chairs at kitchen table broken and table wobbly, furniture could be replaced for sure. On the plus side the beds were really comfy, bed linen was so soft. Kitchen had everything you need, including toaster, kettle and washing machine. Good area near a few train stations so that was an advantage. Supermarket across the street. If you donât plan to spend too much time there itâs ok. Just manage expectations.
The appartement was not clean. The towels were dirty. The bedrooms were okay. But bathroom, kitchen and livingroom were less pleasent as they had probably not be cleaned for some time, apart the floor.
This was the worst apartment Iâve ever rented!! To start with, I open the door and thereâs a hole inside the door on the floor. I go into the living room and the furniture is old and gross to sit on. The dining table was ready to fall apart and the chairs did fall apart right under me l! The kitchen smelled very musty, like there was mold everywhere. The bathtub/shower didnât drain and my sister had to use the toilet plunger to clear the drain, gross!! The owner was going to uber some drain cleaner, but we had to be at the apartment to get it. We tried not to be at the apartment other than sleeping there. The bedrooms were very good sized with lots of storage. The bed in the main bedroom didnât even have a box spring to fit the mattress that was on top of it! The second bedroom was very good sized but the bed was very hard and not comfortable to sleep on. I will say that the area the apartment is located is very safe and close to all the metro and buses!
Been there with my family on the Halloween weekend. The flat is spacious enough for 4 people. Great area as it's city center and it's very well connected via buses, underground, train etc.
The flat comes with cutlery, plates and towels.
We loved it thank you!
The flat is as described in the listing and the rest of the reviews - a bit shabby but perfectly situated for central London, and clean with comfortable beds. It's just across the road from all of the restaurants and supermarkets in Bayswater, but really quiet.
We had a problem with the boiler but the landlady got it fixed more or less immediately once I had managed to contact her.
Walking up to a cold and sad Council Flat, we were immediately let down. This broke-ass owner left the gas bill lapse, so we had NO Heat or hot-water. Record low temps in London, would have taken a day to heat up. Thats just the beginning. Host tried to cancel with false accusations of underage guests even though we're over 35! I sent VRBO several dozen photos and we were immediately refunded the whole cost.
Maria is a wonderful and responsive host. The apartment is basic and a good value for central London. It has many quirks and isnât in prime condition, but that is reflected in the price and everything works and is clean. I felt safe in the neighborhood and it was very close to stores, restaurants, and a bus stop.
If I were able to give 0 stars thatâs what I would have done. This property was booked months in advance of our trip to London. I started messaging the host a day before our arrival but received no response. We arrived by train to London with still no response. Had to scramble to find alternative lodging for remainder of our trip.
No electricity or water when we arrived. Host did correct quickly. Unit is in a low subsidized building. Lots of on going work going on in unit. Careful upon entry work in entry way could cause twisted ankle
Very conveniently situated. Appartment clean but dusty. Had to contact the host and she did respond quickly. Bedding clean but old. Would stay there again if host takes on board some of the recommendations made.
We were traveling Europe for 2 weeks and were in London for 2 days/2nights and only needed a place to sleep and shower so we decided on this 2/1.5 flat which was a 6 min walk to Royal Oak Underground Metro and Hyde Park. It was 2 bedrooms with double beds, 1 shower/bath/sink with all the toiletries you need provided and another 1 toilet, full blown kitchen and a dining/living room with working tv with couches. It was safe, quiet, and comfortable.
Only cons I can think of was the bathroom could use a mat on the floor so no one slips or falls. Better dining table as it feels itâs about to collapse. Living room needs a coffee table or side tables near the couches for drinks and to elevate our feet after walking all day but especially after 2 weeks of daily walking.
Upon entering the apartment, there was crumbs/dirt all over the floor and sauce splattered on the cabinets. All of the bedsheets were stained and all the mirrors dirty. The shower didn't drain or get more than lukewarm, the toilet barely flushes and no toilet paper was provided. After turning on the boiler the heat did not kick in and we were freezing all weekend. There was basically no instruction from the host. Overall not worth any of the money spent.
We stayed for 3 days in London at Mariaâs place. The location is very convenient for maneuvering around London to see all the sights.
A few tips for others who choose Mariaâs property for their stay.
In Canadian standards it is on the third floor. We made the mistake of assuming ground was 1 when it is in fact zero, the next floor is 1 and the apartment is on 2.
The Wifi password is in the back of the router located on the table once you enter the flat.
When you are having a shower the taps are reversed from what you would expect. The hot is the âCâ tap which is on the right if you are standing in the shower. Let it run for a minute for a nice warm shower.
If you need coffee in the am Arro is just minute away. There is no coffee maker in the suite.
Reading other reviews we were confused the toilet is more than large enough to do your business.
If you are looking for the Hilton move on. If you are able to enjoy London for a bargain jump on it. We would stay here again with our family of 4.
Thank you Maria!
Furniture, tables, cupboards and fixtures (except the TV and Wi-Fi) all seem to be from the bulky waste. They are all broken and dirty!
The whole apartment is dirty! There is dirt on furniture and shelves! It smells like insect spray!
The toilet is so narrow that you can't clean yourself! The bathroom can not be ventilated.
The window in the bedroom has no handle and cannot be closed.
The ceiling lamp in the bedroom hums and flickers.
The apartment door has only a cheap lock.
All in all, unfortunately, a dump.
