excellent location, spacious and clean with a few quirks

This unit has GREAT location in the beautiful and safe neighborhood of Mayfair. It is a short walk to two tube stations. The unit was clean and spacious. The host had easy and prompt communication and check-in/out is super easy. Coffee maker, dishwasher, washer/dryer all excellent.A couple of quirky items: did not like the rainhead shower in the one bathroom (pressure wasn't strong and seemed like a very poor and large shape for a smaller shower), toilet was running in 1/2 bath (we never notified host so they didn't have opportunity to come and fix it, which isn't their fault), stains on some light color furniture in living room, 89 steps to get to the front door (as stated in listing it's 4th floor with no lift, so just make sure you can handle steps. The property manager even carried up my suitcase for me which was SO kind!!), the hot water heaters are noisy when hot water in use, it's a little difficult to access plugs in the bedroom with the dark brown built-ins.This rental served our needs extremely well during our trip to London and I would recommend it if you can accept the "quirks".Lastly, it seems the building management may not want this unit to be used as a vacation rental. There is a a sign in the entrance stating vacation rentals is strictly prohibited. So while this was a little concerning, we had no issues with that. The host also mentioned just prior to arrival that we are friends of the owner if anyone asked. Thankfully that didn't happen.

Beautiful Mayfair, poor apartment

Location was impeccable, but unit was only fair. Washer and dryer terrific, good kitchen appliances, good mattresses. However, 89 steps every time you came home was a lot, even for very fit people. If you had anything with you from shopping, it was a chore. Absolutely not for anyone with even a slight disability. To say that the apartment was filled with luxury accommodations was untrue. Many many maintenance issues: broken light fixtures in bathrooms; coarsely finished remodeling; shower fixtures unattached/difficult to use to get hot water to stay on, if at all; linens poor quality; furniture was stained & dirty. No softening of cold hard floors, only a few basic rugs. Needed to request filthy drain to be unclogged, and it still smelled afterward. Shower door swinging off at hinges, toilet paper holder stripped off the wall, no shower rugs so you wouldn’t slip on the wet floor, no wash cloths to wash your face. Sheets were rough & linty, absolutely not luxury/high end. Overall maintenance of the unit was poor, appears the owner relying on location to attract renters. Last point, it was very unprofessional and stress inducing to have property management relay upon arrival that we were to lie to any of the neighbors in the building that we knew the owner or were even related to the owner! Absolutely unacceptable, would not recommend this unit to anyone. Will not be back, although the area was absolutely beautiful.

Top location on a quiet street

We loved staying at this location for its proximity to Hyde Park (so the runners in the family could run each day) AND because Mayfair is a lovely neighborhood. Easy to walk to the tube or get a taxi/Uber. We are all fit so we didn't mind walking up five flights of stairs (gotta get those steps in!). Kitchen was perfectly nice and well equiped but limited on plates/cups/cutlery, Apartment had some heating issues but the host will be addressing those. I gave the check-in only three stars because unlike other properties, we had to schedule our arrival/departure to meet the manager in person which at the outset was difficult for us to do. Beds were very comfortable; I wish there had been more towels but we didn't ask. All-in-all I loved the location/price/amenties and the flat was perfect for two couples, and for anyone wanting to be in Central London.

Great location!!

Location is great. Very clean. No elevator for the 4th floor flat was tough with luggage to carry. Sewer smell coming from all bathrooms. Several lights in bathroom, closet, and living room were out. One towel per guest was not enough (we did laundry, though). For the price we would have expected more kitchen basics: sugar, instant coffee, better selection of glasses & silverware.

Excellent location and met our needs

This property is very well situated, clean and spacious. One thing we weren't prepared for was the 89 steps it takes to get into it, so not well suited for anyone with any type of mobility issues. It would have been nice for the kitchen to be a bit more equipped (colander, dish cloths, dish towels). Overall a satisfying experience.

Very nice neighborhood. Property was clean and as listed. Property manager was very patient on our check in day after our flight was delayed several house. It is clearly listed in the property description, but 5 flights of stairs can be very strenuous for some...be prepared. Would highly recommend for anyone staying in the area.

Loved the place! Very smooth communication as well. Easy Check in and check out process. An amazing space in an amazing location. Centrally located to all spots in London. There are some step to get upstairs to the flat (if older) but absolutely and highly recommend!

Great stay in London

Nice flat, great neighborhood close to all the sites. Easy to get a cab/uber. Beds were very comfortable. Owner is very responsive and friendly. Savio even carried my heavy luggage up all 4 flights of stairs. Remember there are no elevator here but it didn’t bother us. Lots of nice restaurants in neighborhood as well. Would definitely stay here again

Broken heating system, never worked, we were cold all the time. Smoke alarm kept going off in the middle of the night. No lift and 5 stories to climb.we had to get maintenance in at night to get to close the windows because of a knocking noise ( which they did) and fix the alarm system ( which they did not).
