I had a wonderful solo stay at Two Moonsâa peaceful escape with absolutely stunning views. The home is perched on a quiet hillside, offering panoramic ocean scenery that made every sunrise and sunset feel like a dream. The space was clean, airy, and thoughtfully decorated, with everything I needed for a comfortable stay.Cindie was a fantastic hostâcommunicative, warm, and attentive without being intrusive. Her local recommendations were spot-on, and she made sure everything was smooth from check-in to check-out. The bed was comfortable, the linens fresh, and the overall vibe of the house was calm and relaxing. The kitchen was well-stocked for light cooking, and the layout made it easy to settle in and feel at home. My only issue was the coffee maker, which I found full of mold when I went to use it. It was a surprise given how clean the rest of the house was. Even with that small hiccup, my stay was incredibly positive. Two Moons is a perfect spot for anyone looking to relax, reflect, and soak in the natural beauty of St. Thomas. Iâd absolutely stay here again.
The guesthouse is a cozy, well equipped hideaway, high above Magenâs Bay. Cindie was easy to contact and a very thoughtful and generous hostess. We would love to go back.
If you're looking for a getaway that combines stunning views, cozy vibes, and a warm, welcoming host, look no further. Tucked away in the heart of nature, this mountaintop destination is the perfect spot for anyone seeking peace, adventure, and breathtaking scenery. Four points to assist... 1. Make sure to upgrade to a Jeep 4x4. 2. Grab some groceries beforehand 3. Input Drake's Seat on GPS-the destination is a mile away 4. Enjoy the easy life!
My husband and I loved staying here. We wanted a nice place without a touristy resort vibe and this felt like we had a home in the US Virgin Islands. It was so thoughtful to have breakfast foods stocked so we could relax in the mornings. We also were grateful for the beach chairs. towels & cooler to use on our beach excursions. Cindie & Jon gave us advice on what to see & do and were readily available to answer questions. Loved meeting Petey& Lily!
Great place to stay. Beautiful view from the deck, tree frog serenade each evening. Well equipped including beach chairs, floats and cooler. Host provided a nice starter kit for breakfast, ice and a welcome gift. She also went out of her way to make sure we were pleased and made it a very special week. Would stay here again in a minute, we hated to have to come home
Hosts were extremely friendly, accommodating and helpful. All the amenities are in the house including beach supplies
Deck is beautiful overlooking Magens Bay
Lovely hosts thought of every amenity needed for a romantic and efficient getaway. Their beautiful mountain property had scenic views, tree-frog serenades, and island breezes. It was very special experience of St Thomas mountain top lifestyle. Accessing the last few hundred feet of the road leading to the unit is very doable but does require confident driving skills, so just take it slow and maybe use low gear and you will make it safely. Highly recommend. Enjoy your stay.
We had a fantastic time in St Thomas! The property was great. Access was a little tricky but with careful driving or an SUV the driveway is no problem. The place was absolutely beautiful and we canât wait to visit again!
Cindie was very kind and made it clear that if there was anything we needed to let her know, But her forethought made that unnecessary. We appreciated the amount of pre-stocked basics along with coffee, eggs, English muffins etc. The bottle of rum and some cokes was a nice touch. There were also many basics in the fridge. (Condiments etc) We had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Beach chairs, towels and a cooler for beach outings (even some sunscreen) and beautiful breezes to enjoy upon our return up the mountain. The pictures donât do justice to the lovely windows/screens that extend the full length of the rental, (beautifully maintained.) for constant enjoyment of the topical breezes and chirping of the coqi! And the deck was lovely. We enjoyed the creative touches throughout the apartment. The tropical landscaping was lovely too. The road up to rental was a challenge the first couple of times (not uncommon on St. Thomas) but was worth the effort!
The property was great and just what we wanted. We really felt like we were living the island life. Cindie was great and made us feel right at home. She shared her island knowledge us and we had a great time.
Awesome stay! Perfect little place with everything you could ask for. Host is fun to chat with and provides extensive information about the island. Very easy to communicate with and extremely helpful and accommodating. The view is amazing and the location is just minutes away from restaurants, the beach, and shops. Would absolutely go back.
The place was amazing, they were amazing & all the sounds were amazing. Definitely do not listen to any of the bad reviews we had the best time and it was exactly as described by the lovely hosts & by the good reviews. Thank you so so much for a great stay!
This property was everything that was represented in the pictures I reviewed on the VRBO site. While getting to the location is an adventure (roads are extremely uphill!), it was well worth it once we arrived. I would suggest an SUV as a must for staying (basically anywhere on STT), but this site needs a car that has a higher clearance due to the hills. We had to take our first car back and get an SUV. You can enjoy the sounds of owls, crickets and roosters at all hours of the day! There are hummingbirds and skinks and small salamanders all around the property. The view is spectacular, the patio overlooks Megan's Bay, and you can see Tortola and other islands in the distance as well. There is a Zipline place just below their property, and Mountaintop is a couple miles in the opposite direction from your stay. Mountaintop sets at an elevation of 1526 feet, and this site is not much below that! Mountaintop is great place to buy towels to take to the beach, as well as quality jewelry and other souvenirs--go here first to buy! Views and pictures are spectacular, although pics don't do it justice! Cindie & Jon were wonderful, we had great communication with them before and during our stay (we got lost coming to the site initially!) GPS worked well for us most of the time on both STT & St. John. We dropped a Pin at the site, so it was easier when we returned from our adventures.
After the first couple of days, we had the route down and was able to turn GPS off sooner as we became familiar. Encourage you to take the car barge over to St. John at least one day--go to Trunk Bay! GO EARLY, the time flies while over on St.John, and the last ferry back leaves at 5:30. This last ferry is typically very full, so we left at 4:30 to avoid any delays/issues. Two of our favorite places to eat were Greengo's (they have locations on both STT & STJ, although STJ is slightly better) and Tickles Dockside Pub on STT. Take PLENTY of sunscreen, as it is hard to find on the islands! Cindie & Jon provided great scuba gear, chairs, floats & even a cooler if needed.
The Cruzan Rum & Cokes they provide was a nice touch, as we needed a drink after getting lost coming to the site! :-)
They have wifi & movies as well as Hulu if you're interested. We used Hulu one evening, otherwise we were out of the unit for the most part, only coming home in the evenings at bedtime. Great bonding time for me & my daughter!
Cindie is the ideal host - friendly, extremely helpful and full of information, a great communicator, and John is an extremely talented builder and artist. It only took one day to conquer the challenge of finding their remarkable home high above the most beautiful beach in the island. The room in the lower level was perfectly comfortable and well equipped and the view from the deck was drop dead gorgeous! I think the location was the best area in the island to experience the beauty of St. Thomas during our 4 days of adventures there before traveling to St. John. It was very hard to leave!
Arrived to vrbo on Sunday 1/23/22, upon arrival there was no running water, owner was on site and said it would be fixed in a couple of hours. We left the apartment and came back that evening. Once we arrived they turned the water on and said it would be off again on 1/24. We had plans to be gone from the apartment during the day on 1/24 so we agreed and told them that we would be in the apartment all day on Wednesday 1/25 and we would need water. On Tuesday evening the owner turned the pump on for a few hours so we could shower and use the toilet. On Wednesday morning, the water went off at 0845am with no notification prior and remained off. At 1430, we contacted the owner again and said we needed to have running water on our vacation. No response received. We decided to leave the apartment as the toilet was full and no communication if water would be turned back on. Our ride arrived at 1650pm on Wednesday and the owners husband had a hose hanging down in front of our unit creating a trip hazard. He said âsorry you didnât like the placeâ. We told him that we expected to have running water while we were there and he said âthere hasnât t been any water issuesâ. We asked for a refund and we were told to âread our contractâ. We contacted VRBO but still no resolution. We had to pay for additional lodging for the rest of our trip.
In addition to no running water, there is mold in the closet, they have cups tied to the metal rungs on the ceiling and a 5lb Folgers coffee container. Itâs not at all the relaxing experience we were needing. The view is limited by overgrowth of foliage and we couldnât get a taxi to come to the location.
The owner told us that sheâs tired of doing property management and they are leaving the island before hurricane season. The quality of the property shows that they are indeed tired of it. We wanted to have some peace and instead end up fighting about no running water for days. Itâs sad and unacceptable. We have video, pictures and text messages to prove there was no running water and yet they are denying it. Find another property and enjoy your island time!
We stayed in Cindie's apartment for our honeymoon and it was perfect! We had everything we needed and more, and Cindie went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Highly recommend!!
Cindie and the property are absolutely amazing! The location is wonderfully secluded and very secure! This is a great location and somewhere we hope to return in the future!!
Lovely property with a fantastic view, gracious host, and convenient access to the whole island. The stars at night were beautiful, and the island breezes in the mountain were wonderful.
This was a wonderful location, but people need to be aware that driving here is challenging. The peace and quiet are wonderful. Cindie will help you locate the best sights and hidden gems. Her care and concern is great. Itâs the little things she does that makes this a great VRBO stay.
This is a nice, private spot to stay if youâre visiting St. Thomas! Definitely rent a Jeep, as itâs pretty steep roads to access the property.
Jon and Cindie were amazing hosts, answering any questions we had. Rum and Cokes were a nice touch! Beach towels, snorkel gear, beach chairs and cooler were available for us to use. TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime. Internet isnât the best, but we were out and about most of the time anyway.
Conveniently located to Magenâs Bay! It cost us $12 per day to visit Magenâs Bay Beach, which was only 14 minutes away. Some restaurants and stores are only 10-15 minutes away, but other things youâll have to drive 20-25 minutes to get to. All in all, Iâd consider this a conveniently located place to stay!
No air conditioning at all, but if you keep all the doors/windows open (with the screens closed of course) and the fans on, it isnât much of an issue. We were hot some nights but overall it got cool enough at night that we were able to sleep well enough. The SOUNDS at night is what makes this place unique- it sounds like youâre sleeping in a tropical rainforest! Weâve never experienced anything like it before.
Jon and Cindiesâs recommendations for places to eat and drink were pretty spot on, although some of the places listed in the book were closed or had different hours than listed (probably due to COVID). Ferry schedule was different. Just be sure to double-check everything online or call ahead before you go. Cash only on the ferry! We learned the hard wayâŠ
Be sure you book a sailboat cruise that includes snorkeling! We booked via VIDaySailing for the sunset cruise. Included dinner, two snorkeling spots and we learned TONS of history about the islands. Best day of our trip, hands down!
If youâre on the fence about booking Two Moons, just go ahead and do it!
Loved this little apartment! Had all the conveniences of home, private, with a spectacular view of Magen's Bay. You have to have a car, the driveway is pretty steep, I'd recommend something larger than an economy car. All in all it was a great stay, Confirm was amazing! Thank you again!
My husband Jon bought the land in 1987 and he designed and built our house himself . I grew up on Water Island and met Jon over 30 years ago when he moved to Water Island. Happily married with 4 dogs, Tisha Buddy and Petey and Roxy and our two new Maine Coon kittens, Natasha and Gretchen, our furry family. I manage 6 vacation rental properties as a full time job. Our new website is up and you will be able to see them all at virginislandsvacationhomes.com Jon has his wood shop next door he makes custom furniture and his own beautiful sculptures.
The location is centrally located and at 1,200 feet, which is only 300 feet from the top. We get great breezes and are ten degrees cooler than sea level. It is very private, fenced and gated and quiet.
The apartment is private and quiet surrounded by lush tropical rain forest with a great view of Magens Bay. From the deck you can enjoy the sugar birds and hummingbirds while grilling dinner on the gas BBQ.
