This place has a really relaxed feel to it. It was comfortable and had everything you need. It has a laundry downstairs in the basement. It has a kitchen with all the appliances. It's really close to town. Definitely one of the best places we have ever stayed.
This was my third stay in a quiet house in a great location. I found it relaxing, and the closeness to downtown restaurants meant no parking issues, although the kitchen is well suited to home meal preparation. Compared to increasingly expensive hotels, the value of staying here, which is like having your own house in Hendersonville, remains high.
The house was cozy, comfortable and quiet. Loved the rural location yet near Main Street. Bobby was very responsive to any questions or requests. Went to an amazing alpaca/llama farm nearby Ellaberry.
We were looking for a good place to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary and this place is perfect! Great neighborhood and small, well kept house within walking distance of Hendersonville and short driving distance to multiple tourist places like Asheville, Maggie Valley and Cherokee. Weâve actually stayed here multiple times and always check the availability when looking for a place to stay.
Great cottage with all the amenities of home!! Plenty of space to spread out and relax. Extremely reasonable for what we got in this house! I could sit in the sun room and read, while my partner enjoyed a soccer game on the large TV. We were completely comfortable and happy for our two-day stay! I would book it again for visiting my family nearby!! Thank you!!
My wife and I were quite pleased with our stay at the Maple Glen Cottage in Hendersonville, NC last week. The home is very clean and neat with nice furniture and a kitchen complete with pots, pans, dishes, etc. The beds were comfortable as well. Located in a very nice historic area of Hendersonville and close to downtown, it was the perfect place to stay. Communication with Bobby is so kind and professional and we find him to be quite honorable. We will most certainly be back!
My daughters and I loved staying here before sleepaway camp dropoff. The beds are very comfortable, the location unbeatable and the house feels like a home. We will definitely stay here again!
This is an older cottage with renovations. Very comfortable. Location is excellent for walking and biking. Easy distance to downtown and to biking trail. Beautiful neighborhood.
Beautiful cottage and beautiful surroundings! Wonderful place to relax and unwind. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a cottage near downtown. The bed (and pillows) were super comfortable and the cottage was spotless when we got there. Looking forward to booking another stay at this cottage sometime in the near future.
The house has a lot of charm and is in a nice, quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors. Great location near downtown Hendersonville. Itâs well stocked with everything we needed. Bobby is an excellent host. He communicated well and was very helpful. The check in and check out process were very easy. I highly recommend this property!
We had a very pleasant stay at our "home" away from home. I appreciated the very detailed Welcome guide. Everything was perfection Our host was very accommodating in guiding us the function of entry into the home. We will gladly stay here again for our future visits to Hendersonville if the home is available. Thank you for letting us stay at your property
My second stay, this time for a week, was great. The house is well-outfitted, comfortable and quiet, wonderful for the retreat I had in mind. Plus, the short walk to Main St Hendo made it possible to keep my exercise schedule while enjoying wonderful restaurants. Have alreaddy dcheduled the next trip.normalwalkexercise schedule
My wife and I returned to our former hometown for a weeklong visit during the Masters Tournament, so we know Hendersonville well. If you like staying in the midst of a historic district within walking distance of historic downtown, then youâll love this two bedroom cottage. The whole neighborhood is walkable among many lovely restored homes. Artisan coffee shops abound, as do artisan pubs and breweryâs. We particularly enjoyed the Trailside Brewery with a wide variety of beer choices and a food truck, as will the many casual restaurants, primarily on Main Street. You can shop and dine all within a one mile area. Of particular note is Sierra Nevada Brewery which is a ten mile drive from Hendersonville. If you want the full tour of Sierra Nevada, which I highly recommend, youâll want to make reservations beforehand. I could go on about the easy accessibility to hiking trails, the Pisgah National Forest, the Blueridge Parkway, et al. Do a bit of research of the Hendersonville area and you wonât run out of fun outdoor activities. This comfortable, well furnished, very clean two bedroom cottage will provide all of the amenities youâll need for your stay in this delightful visit to Western North Carolina.Gracious hospitality from the owners and the area will make you want to return. The one caution we would offer, if you are uncomfortable with several stairs at both entrances you might want to exercise caution. Otherwise, we cannot recommend this cottage more highly. Enjoy.
This cottage was in a perfect location to quickly get downtown to shopping and restaurants yet it was quiet when it was time to relax at the end of the day. Bobby responded almost immediately to all communications. The property is kept immaculate and clean. The ability to store our bikes in a secure garage was a huge bonus. We would happily stay when in the area again. Thank you for making us feel at home!
I enjoyed my stay immensely. My host was incredibly responsive when I ran into a slight issue. The neighborhood felt very safe and the house was clean and comfortable. I would stay again the next time I am in town.
Very nice older home in the historic heart of Hendersonville was perfect for our stay. Excellent location. Nice quiet neighborhood. Linens, towels and kitchen well stocked. It was easy for us to get around to places we needed to go from its location. The property manager was very responsive.
We went to Hendersonville to show our support to all the people that suffered through the hurricane Helene. It was a heart warming experience. Not only was the house just perfectâŠsize, cleanliness, and location. People in this community and surrounding g areas are super nice. Cannot say enough and we loved this house. And the owner was very easy and a step ahead of us checking in and out. Thanks and hope to return
The house is a classic vintage two BR plus a nice basement office and laundry. The main floor is elevated, providing great views of a pleasant and picturesque neighborhood, walkable to downtown for most. It is well insulated and very quiet, conducive to a good nights sleep. Overall a relaxing, peaceful and accommodating accommodation. I will certainly return.
I felt "safe" in this area of town and enjoyed watching the walkers and bicyclists going by on the sidewalk out front. The area had a well maintained feel/look about it. People obviously take pride in their homes/cottages.
Perfect home to explore downtown and all Hendersonville and surroundings
Wonderful, clean and well appointed home. We were central to all of our hiking and exploring and the house is in a cute neighborhood which is quiet and close to downtown. We could have walked but it was so easy to park downtown that we drove there.
Prompt and easy communications with the owner and directions were easy. We would definitely stay there again when we return.
Eugenia and Bobby Dowdeswell have lived in Flat Rock/Hendersonville for most of the last 45 years. Eugenia is retired from the Episcopal clergy having served the Diocese of Western North Carolina as Archdeacon for the last eight years of her ministry. Bobby is retired after 36 years of local medical practice as a physician pathologist and 5 additional years as a traveling locum tenens pathologist. They have two married children and five grandchildren.
Eugenia and Bobby have owned this property for 25 years enjoying it as a second home from time to time. Offering this delightful cottage as a VRBO has been a labor of love for both of them for the last five years. It is filled with many personal items and furnishings. This is Bobby's first year actually managing the property, as Nancy McKinley, the former Manager, is now retired.
As owners and, now, manager of Maple Glen Cottage, Bobby and Eugenia can utilize their longstanding knowledge of the property itself and its wonderful location to make each guest secure, happy and comfortable during their stay.
