Unique, open plan stone barn with stunning features and views.
Le Pigeonnier is a unique 3 storey, open plan barn offering luxurious, romantic accommodation for 2 people .
Sainte-Foy is a complex of 3 detached, very old stone properties, each with their own private terraces, offering a beautiful shared swimming pool with terrace and communal stunning grounds of 4 acres.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Le Pigeonnier. The accommodation is superb, the pool, the garden, the tranquility. Nice attention from the landlord in our accommodation. For us, young people in our fifties, ideal. Explore the hilly region with our bikes, fortunately electric bikes. We will definitely come back.
It is obvious that this property has been most lovingly restored and has bags of atmosphere. Situated in beautiful countryside with lovely views (sunsets are magnificent) and in a tiny hamlet at the end of a short lane, this is just the place to chill out. Le Pigeonnier is full of character and provides spacious accommodation for two people. The pool is a good size and very well cared for. It is shared with the two other properties on the site, though during our fortnight in September we had the pool to ourselves. The surrounding countryside is attractive and though the area seems to be missed by guidebooks, we found much to see and do. The nearest village is Prayssas (3 miles). It is old, charming and has a variety of shops. Its restaurant is excellent and the food is inexpensive. We took bikes and although the area is quite hilly, there are wonderful designated flat cycle routes alongside the River Lot and the picturesque Garonne Canal. For the wildlife enthusiast, there is much of interest. When we arrived there were golden orioles in the trees by the pool and cattle egrets in the cowfield up the road. All in all, this is a beautiful building in a fabulous spot and will suit anyone in search of a peaceful and very relaxing hideaway.
My sister, a friend and I were looking for somewhere peaceful to relax this summer and as luck woudl have it we found Le Pigeonnier! It was perfect for the 3 of us and we enjoyed staying there a great deal.
The house was spotless upon arrival. It had all the mod cons you could want (apart from a sweeping brush, strangely). It has been tastfully converted and it was a pleasure to spend time in and out of the building.
We really enjoyed the wednesday night market in the local town. We also went for local walks, cycled around the fields and just chilled out at the lovely salt water pool.
I'd highly recommend the spot for a couple of 3 friends just to relax and unwind in the beautiful french countryside.
An idyllic place. The interior layout to Le Pigeonnier has been imaginatively designed and to a very high standard. There is a wonderful view down the valley, and the peace and quiet could not be more relaxing. The purpose of the holiday was a lazy week beside the pool with books, and it was perfect. Towns nearby are well worth visiting too - highly picturesque. Peter was a most genial and welcoming host - an excellent holiday!
We have stayed at Le Pigeonnier twice and on both occasions have had an amazing time. The whole complex has been beautifully renovated and Le Pigeonnier itself is a perfect balance between the original stonework, wooden beams and modern living. The property provides all of the amenities required for self contained very comfortable living, with a fully fitted kitchen (including washing machine, dishwasher and a very handy coffee maker) and TV and DVD player on the top floor if you feel particularly lazy (which we did on occasion). The spacious pool area is fantastic for relaxing days in the sun, while each property has outside seating which is perfect for enjoying your evening meal with a glass of local wine. The surrounding countryside is idylic bliss, with the only sounds to be heard the local wild life and the daily delivery van of fresh bread in the mornings. There is plenty to keep you occupied, including country walks, picturesque bastide towns, great local food and wine and the fantastic local market in Prayssas on Wednesday evenings. Peter was very friendly and helpful, providing us with routes to the beach on the Atlantic coast (a 2-2.5 hour drive) and lots of information about things to do and see (including plenty of maps and local tourist guides in the property on your arrival). We would definitely recommend this property for those wanting to get away from it all.
After a busy year we were looking for a restful break. Le Pigeonnier exceeded our expectations; it was comfortable, well appointed and had a lovely rustic feel with stone walls and a myriad of beams.
Swimming in the pool every day was great and with wonderful views of the countryside. We found lots to do walking, cycling, visiting local markets and a memorable trip to the canal at Agen. There were many interesting places to visit all within a short drive. We especially loved the outdoor market at Prayssas on wednesday evening and enjoyed tasty food and music there.
We had excellent customer service from arrival to the time when we reluctantly left. This property is a unique creation of a holiday home and is luxuriously ideal for two. We had a fabulous time, would definitely recommend it to others seeking a rural retreat and hope to return one day ourselves.
I have nothing but good things to say about this property. It was well equipped and well kept. Utterly charming and romantic. It is very far out in the country (I would hardly even call its location in a hamlet), so you will certainly need a vehicle to get there and to explore the region, but if you want a rustic, rural, calming place to get away I could not recommend it more highly. The surrounding region is extremely charming - rolling, pastoral hills filled with sunflower fields, grape vines and corn fields. Surrounding French towns are small and lovely, and the people I encountered very nice. Some nice restaurants nearby for the occasional night out, but we enjoyed making simple meals at home and sitting outside to eat with a bottle of the local wines.
A perfect week for us!

I am retired and live in the UK. I have owned this property for many years, having completely restored it from being derelict.
I spent many years travelling widely in France and especially in the Lot & Garonne region, which is simply stunning and idyllic . I bought this property as a holiday home , despite it's state of disrepair, for one reason, the location. It is simply beautiful.
The three detached properties and pool terrace are located on the top of a hill with fantastic views down the unspoilt valley, and being west facing, the sunsets are just spectacular!! The complex is located in an extremely quiet, very small hamlet with no through road and is therefore very tranquil. The location is just perfect !
