With independent shops and cafés including a chocolatier to enjoy, whilst taking in your peaceful, picturesque surroundings with a babbling brook winding through the village. This is a great destination for guests looking to soak up some of the prettiest views in Yorkshire. Only 5 miles away is the traditional Yorkshire market town of Pickering, which combines atmospheric old inns, a 12th-century castle, a museum and the North York Moors Railway. Castle Howard, Nunnington Hall (National Trust), Duncombe Park and Rievaulx Abbey are just a few of the local treasures to discover.

On the east coast lie the popular seaside resorts of Scarborough, 13 miles, and Filey, 17 miles, the serene fishing village of Robin Hood’s Bay and the captivating old port of Whitby, 23 miles, with its Captain Cook connections, as well as miles of sandy beaches and a colourful harbour. Just 7 miles away you have Dalby Forest, where there is a plethora of woodland walks, a visitor’s centre, picnic areas, bikes to hire and the popular Go Ape treetop zip lines. The ancient city of York is 30 miles away and offers the majestic minster, the fascinating Jorvik Viking Centre, the Castle Museum, the National Railway Museum and excellent shopping facilities.
