Bleadon Hill, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, is also located there. The community has a rich history because it is home to a Grade I listed church that was built in the fourteenth century. There is also evidence of mediaeval agricultural labour. Bleadon is situated along the River Axe, which was formerly a harbour.
