Ulverston is well-known as a festival town, hosting events like the Flag and Walking Festival, the Art and Music Festival, and the World-Famous Dickensian Christmas Festival, all throughout the summer and into late November. Stan Laurel was born in this town, and the annual foam pie fight held there holds the record for largest in the world. Great walks in scenic countryside with views of Morecambe Bay and the southern Lake District can be found all around the town.
