Poor property, poor location, poor property manager
When we arrived the property was very unclean and smelt of wet/rotting trash. We noticed the trash and recycling bins were completely full, we looked closer at the cleanliness of the property and it seems that the only "cleaning" done before we arrived was to change used bedding and towels.
The property lists two bathrooms which is inaccurate. It is 1 1/2 bath (2 showers and 1 toilet). The pictures of the upstairs bathroom are taken in a way that makes it seem like there could be a toilet, we made the mistake that this was an oversight by the property manager rather than them being intentially dishonest.
Below is a list of the issues we found with the property:
- Trash was full on arrival
- No trash cans in bathrooms
- 1 bed had multiple hairs in it upon arrival
- Upstairs shower has no privacy door/curtain
- no hand towels, would need to use large bath towel as hand towels for multiple people
- Items shown in photos were not present at property such as: Plants, blankets, fans, plates, towels, pillows and a bunch of decorative items
- Listing says 2 bathrooms, but is actually 1 1/2 bath (2 showers, 1 toilet)
- upstairs radiator was unable to be turned down because knob was broken
- Entire place was excessively worn and was general unclean
- Listing advertised a coffee maker, ironing board and grill which were not present at the property
- Downstairs shower is heavily leaking onto the floor and causing lots of black mold
- Extracter fans do not work and are causing mold in the property.
- Property is located in one of the worst parts of Cardiff (multiple Uber drivers commented how unsafe this area is). It will take you about 30 minutes to walk to the city center and I would highly encourage you to get an uber or drive yourself.
The property manager takes about a week to reply to any messages sent through VRBO. I addressed all these issues with the property manager who offered me a refund of the cleaning fee in exchange for a postitive review. I decided an honest review was worth more than a refund of the cleaning fee.
