Gaffers Cottage - sleeps 12 guests in 5 bedrooms

Gaffers cottage has been upgraded over the years and still retains many of the original features, character and charm with exposed beams, brickwork and wall ties.

There is a well-equipped kitchen with a range cooker and a breakfast area that opens into a generous dining room. The living room opens onto a sunny patio. Our large garden is bounded and divided by old walls and railings into three distinct areas with BBQ, lawns, courtyard and play areas. This property is ideal for a large family or group of friends to enjoy time away to relax and unwind or enjoy a special occasion.

Wonderful facilities and beautiful setting. Swimming pool and games room was a great asset. Very family friendly and host extremely helpful.

Great weekend

This is the 2nd visit my family and I have had at Gaffers Cottage. We had a wonderful time again with plenty of comfortable beds, towels, cutlery and kitchenware. Plenty of room in the lounge and the dining area sat 10 of us comfortably. 2 of us are fishermen and they spent a good few hours fishing in the lake catching fish. All I all a very successful visit

Family Stay

Our second multi generational stay in Gaffers Cottage. The cottage was warm, clean, tidy and had everything we needed. We enjoyed local walks in the snow which was an added bonus.

The setting is marvellous, the facilities first rate, conversion of old buildings retaining their character, and high standards of comfort in the accommodation. I just wish we could have stayed longer.

Just wonderful

This is our 4th year returning to Spixworth Hall cottages and Gaffers cottage .We love it. We choose January when things are quieter and the snowdrops are opening and it reminds us that Spring will return. Its a perfect space to gather with friends and family or all ages. The facilities are very good and we love exploring the grounds and deer spotting. The customer service is excellent and everyone is always friendly and helpful. We hope to return again and again.

A lovely stay

We were an Art group from Cambridgeshire and were looking for a large cottage not so far from home. I feel that we hit the jackpot with Gaffers cottage. The cottage was large with a beautiful walled garden. We have stayed in a number of cottages over the years and this one was so well appointed the kitchen contained all the equipment that you could want and had ample crockery and glasses. The site itself is beautiful and so well kept. We used the swimming pool which was great and surprisingly warm. We didn’t use the tennis court but it looked very good. The owners were very kind and as the weather was wet on the first day allowed us to paint in on of the barns this was so kind. Sheehan was so interesting to talk to and gave us some information and history about the site and was also very kind to us. We loved our visit and hope to return next year, Thank you everyone for making the visit such fun and enjoyable.

A gem of a holiday cottage

For a reunion of 14 friends and family Gaffers Cottage is ideal. The play barn is huge and in the grounds the play area, tennis court and walks through the snowdrops made it the perfect destination. It's close to Norwich Airport- we could see the aircraft coming and going on our walks around the estate which the kids loved-moreover we used the airport park and ride to get into Norwich itself. Gaffers comes with a piano, a modern well equipped kitchen, accessible downstairs bathroom and all the rooms in this rambling property were comfortable and spotless. When we stayed the February weather was grim so we lit the log burner and played board games - it felt like Christmas.

Wedding weekend

We had 11 guests staying in Gaffers for our wedding and everyone absolutely loved it, you'd thought of everything to make our weekend so special. We all had such a fantastic weekend and can't thank you enough. The pool, games room and fishing lake were an added bonus.

Cottage Stay Gaffers

We recently got married at Spixworth Barns and hired all of the cottages out for our family. We had a wonderful stay there. Jack, Sheelah and Kim were a fantastic support with the booking process to showing us around the cottages and hiring out the barns. I definitely recommend all of their properties. Thank you guys

Home from home

A wonderful beautiful cottage. Rented 4 cottages for all 26 family members for my partners 50th. Something for all ages to do on site and staff were very helpful with all of our needs. Would definitely stay again.

Group booking

We booked 4 cottages, all were clean and had everything we needed. We used the gashes room which was brilliant for the group being able to spend time together. Hosts were really accommodating and we all had a great time.

Amaxing location for a fabulous family getaway in Norfolk

Great location, perfect that it’s on private land so lovely and quiet. Gaffers Cottage is great as we have family and friends join us during our week. So lovely to have the swimming pool close by, a well stocked fishing lake and all the field and footpath walks at our fingertips. Not far from Cromer or Mudesley, and The dog loved it too, she’s never had so many walks. Sheelah, Jack and Kim are always happy to help if we have any questions. A wonderful place and we’ll be back again next year.

Gaffers cottage

Absolutely loved our stay, Sheelah and Jack were perfect hosts. The cottage was lovely and we all slept very well. The facilities were spot on and as described and the swimming pool was a lovely bonus with the weather. Thank you Sheelah and Jack for making my 60th birthday one to remember and treasure.
