The West House is the recently renovated self-contained wing (1/3) of a beautiful Somerset Rectory with use of its own walled garden. The cottage offers luxury accommodation for families & friends or can be used as a retreat for people working away from home. It has a good sized ground floor with large sitting room, kitchen diner, games room, 2 bedrooms on each of the 1st and 2nd floors and stunning bathrooms and en-suites. It's within walking distance of Wells & close to Glastonbury, Street, Bruton, Frome & Bath.
beautifully presented and equipped very clean and Samantha is so helpful and thoughtful. we had a lovely stay and would thoroughly recommended this accommodation
We really enjoyed our stay at this property, it was very well equiped and had everything we needed. The rooms were large and well furnished, lovely bathrooms. The host Samantha also popped round to say hello.
West House suited us very well for our family weekend catch up. The house is very comfortable, spacious, well maintained and very well equipped with three bathrooms.
Really beautiful space in an area close to lots of places in Somerset. Sam was brilliant and responsive when we had questions. We'll definitely try to book again if we're back in the area!
West House is a beautiful wing of a main building. It was spacious and beautifully kept, and a delight to stay in. The weather was appalling (storm Darragh) whilst we were there but it was snug, warm and cosy indoors. Well-equipped, clean, it was the perfect location for a pre-Christmas family get-together.
We loved the property. The rooms are huge and the photos don't do it justice.
Samantha, the owner was very helpful and accommodating. Lovely village location and we also enjoyed a walk in to Wells.
A beautiful property, set up in a quaint little village. Each room elegantly appointed with great attention to detail. Very cosy, welcoming and comfortable. Sam our host was very hospitable and generous, helping us with local information and making our trip easier to visit different places.
As a heads up house go by names and no street numbers so, be patient when first finding the property(once you are there, you will not be disappointed).
There is a reliable bus system to the the town of Wells(8-10min) but also a delightful walk to and from Wells. But you will best served by having a car to best enjoy the lovely countryside and all of its delights.
Most grateful a wonderful 5 day stay, helped us create wonderful memories for our family.
Thank you Sam!!
I have been living Somerset since moving back to England from America with my family 4 years ago. Originally from Shropshire I love to holiday with my family, horse ride, walk, read, shop for antiques, drink fine wine and eat at good restaurants.
My husband grew up in Somerset so when we moved back from the States, and after 18 years of a lot of house moves, we were thrilled to find our forever home and West House in the beautiful and much sort after village of Dinder. With it's beautiful chocolate box houses, village cricket pitch and close proximity to Wells, Bruton, Glastonbury and Frome it was the perfect place to finally put down roots.
West House is a beautifully quirky house with many features of the early Victorian era. There are original wooden floors in parts, a large inglenook fireplace in the sitting room, (which was once the kitchen to the main house), and gorgeous arch topped bedroom doors befitting an Old Rectory. The walled garden is incredibly special with lots of well established plants, trees and flowers and being West facing is a lovely sun trap in the early evening. When we moved to the area we completely renovated the house creating stunning ensuite bathrooms, a fabulous kitchen diner and a home that our guests and friends and family love to stay in.
