Lovely holiday cottage near Ennerdale, maximum 2 people
A charming bungalow in Kirkland near Ennerdale which has recently been renovated. The property sleeps up to 2 people. It is ideal for couples who want to enjoy the quiet western side of the Lake District. Ennerdale is one of the quietest and most remote valleys in the Lake District. It provides habitat for several rare species. Kirkland is perfectly located for exploring Ennerdale whilst remaining within easy driving distance of the other Lake District highlights of Loweswater, Buttermere and Cockermouth.
This little house was ideal for the two of us on our first visit to the western Lakes. Ennerdale Water is within walking distance, with Loweswater and Wast Water short drives away. Cockermouth, Whitehaven and Keswick are all easily accessible.
The house is beautifully and simply furnished and decorated, everything needed is provided and immaculately clean. For sitting out there are three areas in the surrounds of the house to catch the sun all day. If the weather turns nasty, there is ample electric heating, comfortable settees and a Freesat TV.
We loved the house and the area, with Graeme and Linda being ideal hosts and a bottle of wine and a box of chocolates to enjoy on arrival. What was not to like?
We were met by Graham, the owner who was very friendly and helpful. The property was well appointed in a small cul-de-sac with beautiful view and very quiet.
The furnishings were tasteful and comfortable with everything you need from washing up liquid to Wi-Fi. It was spotlessly clean which following the pandemic was reassuring.
There are plenty of walks nearby and two pubs just a mile away which serve meals. Only twenty minutes from the coast mean you have plenty of places to visit.
I would certainly book this property again.
