This is a lovely little cottage on a peaceful patch of land in the middle of a large park. The owners were lovely and the surroundings are magical. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Such a great place. The property is clean, tidy and had everything you need for your stay. We travelled with our dog and she loved the surroundings, plenty of space and access to walks. Really is a gem of a find in a great location and hosts are so welcoming and friendly.

Me and my dogs had a very pleasant stay in 'The Hut'. It's an amazing spot. A perfect place to find your peace but if you like, lot's of nice places to visit are within reach like Newbury, Newbury racecourse, Highclere Castel, the coastline or London. Hosts Collin, Jane and their friendly dog Blue are are the best.

A delightful property, a short drive to shops and other amenities but in the countryside.We didn't do any of the local walks or visit attractions but know the area and there are lots of good walks and interesting places to see.You could stay here and just walk across the common so no need to get the car out.Col and Jane are great hosts and the welcome pack was wonderful, including the most amazing cheese.

One of a kind!

We travel to the UK at least once a year for two weeks and have never stayed at the same accomodation more than once, sofar…..until now! We’ve chosen to stay here again, because we love the location so much. The owners are very nice and relaxed people. Very much recommended!

Charming and special location. Realy rural but the supermerket is 5 car minutes away. Host Colin, with his dog Louis, will take care of you

Very pleasant stay

We had a lovely week here. We visit the UK quite often (at least once a year over the last 15 to 20 years), and stayed in many different accomodations. This one is in our top three, most certainly! Colin and Jane are such nice people. And Blue (the dog) was a nice companion for our dog Flora!

A magical hideaway

The Hut was perfect for us as a months break during a house move. The owner ( and his dog ! ) made us , and ours , so welcome. The accomodation , though small was so well designed it was perfect for the 3 of us...we really loved our time there , a unique venue .Thankyou Colin .

The little hut on the border of the forest was very cosy, clean, and absolutely calm. Nothing else but some birds and deers. Quite small, but has everything one needs. You step out of the door and choose between a forest walk or the meadows. Recreation pure.The owner and his wife live in the house next door, and they are always friendly and courteous. Wow loved every minute there!If you don't expect a luxury suite and like nature, you will be very satisfied.

Great Place - Keep Coming Back!

The property is in a great location close to Newbury but as it's on the common amongst the woods it feels very private and secluded. The owner's property is on the site but you never noticed apart from the warm welcome. The property itself is well looked after, very comfortable and has everything you need, including a much appreciated welcome pack. We have a dog and she was also very comfortable in her surroundings. Will return again!!
