We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful beachfront home. The setting alone is unforgettable—every evening brought breathtaking sunsets right from the house, making it the perfect place to unwind and take it all in.While the ocean directly in front of the house isn’t ideal for swimming due to the rocks, it’s just a short walk to an excellent surfing spot, which more than made up for it. The location really offers the best of both worlds: peaceful views and easy access to the water.One of the standout features was the daily housekeeping, which made the stay feel effortless and truly relaxing. Everything was always fresh and well cared for.Juan Pablo and Olga were incredibly attentive and welcoming throughout our stay. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed, which made the experience even more special.Overall, a fantastic place to stay if you're looking for stunning views, thoughtful service, and a relaxing and private beach getaway.

Amazing Stay!

This is one of the nicest homes I have stayed in, and we travel a lot. Amazing woodwork and lots of thoughtful touches while still bing minimalist and uncluttered. Great host, manager, and communication across the board. We will be back.

Luxury Oceanfront Paradise

Incredible experience for our family & friends! Even the great photos can't capture how amazing this house is, as well as the location! You are literally steps to one of the nicest beaches in CR, with a private path. We washed off each day using several of the outdoor showers and relaxed in the infinity pool. 2 nights we hired a private chef, partly because we didn't want to leave the house! The roof deck was breathtaking for sunsets, and no detail was missed with the house design (even the secret doors - wink, wink). We loved it and will plan to return. Highly recommend.

Wonderful, comfortable house with amazing ocean views

This house and the Playa Negra area were perfect for our multi-gen family (kids 10-17 and adults 50-80). The house is a stunning contemporary with comfortable gathering areas both inside and out. The ocean views and sunsets were amazing. Surfing on both Playa Negra snd Playa Avellanas was good for our beginner surfers, an excellent zipline park was just 20 munutes away, and the local restaurants provided lots of variety, quality and a fun, casual vibe. This house HIGHLY recommended!

PERFECT VACATION HOME

We had such a beautiful vacation staying at this gorgeous home. It was better than the pictures even showed. The kitchen was fabulous and our family of 11 was so comfortable. The communication between us and Krista was superb. She was so helpful when it came to organizing events and Information. I cannot say enough about this beautiful spot. Anyone that gets to stay here, it’s a true pleasure.

Amazing home

From the architecture to the stunning views and open floor plan it’s a must try. Everyone , children and the adults were all impressed. Even my seven year old say thank you so much! Dad when we walked in the door. lol. JP and the staff were all wonderful as well. Thank for sharing your wonderful home.

Excellent location in Playa Negra

Words can’t describe how beautiful this house is. It was perfect for our annual vacation with extended family. We were 7 adults and 5 children, and the house was a perfect size for us. The owner, Juan Pablo and property manager, Krysta, were very easy to work with, and promptly responded to all our inquiries. Krysta was also very helpful in arranging transportation and activities for us, making restaurant recommendations and reservations, etc. Overall, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to vacation in Costa Rica, away from the busy touristy locations near the larger resorts.

Fabulous Home and Location

Our family stayed at Playa Negra Villa for our Vow Renewal Ceremony. The home provided a beautiful location for the ceremony. The photographer was blown away by the location and the photos were stunning. The home is beautiful, well appointed, and even better than the photos can depict. The location is remote enough to have privacy but close enough to town to grab dinner and a drink. Krysta was amazing and helped us navigate vendors, grocery stores and restaurants. The house staff did an amazing job keeping the house clean. It was such a luxury to have daily housekeeping and they even did our laundry! We would definitely stay here again.

LOVE THIS HOUSE!!

We were lucky to stumble upon this listing on VRBO. A friend of mine went to Playa Negra over the winter break and highly recommended the area. I booked this house to travel to the same area for a week at the end of March 2023. We traveled with my four kids and another family. The house is better in person and the photos online are ahhhmazing! The house has a ton of space, the outdoor area is gorgeous, the views are stunning, the people we met were so nice, the pool is fantastic - there really isn't one negative I can say. If you are lucky to get this house, you will not be disappointed.

We had a spectacular wedding here!

We will never forget our week stay at this beautiful villa in Playa Negra. The house was elegant and comfortable with plenty of space for our five children. The backyard and pool area offer a stunning view and created a perfect space for our wedding ceremony and reception. Juan Pablo was a gracious and accommodating host and the house manager, Krysta, was extremely helpful and always available. The cleaning staff came daily and did an outstanding job to keep the house in immaculate condition. The house has never hosted a wedding before and we are extremely grateful that they were willing to accommodate our celebration. We could not be happier with our stay. The appeal of the house, the authentic charm of Playa Negra and the hospitality of the people of the community combined to provide an unforgettable experience. We hope to return again and again

Even Better Than The pictures

Our group of 8 had a fantastic stay at this villa which was even more stunning in real life than the pictures suggest. Our host, Juan Pablo, went above and beyond with helping to coordinate services and answering questions before we even arrived. This included transportation, golf carts, and very useful suggestions on where to get groceries, etc. While we were there, he was incredibly responsive, kind, and knowledgeable. Juan Pablo truly elevated our overall experience through his efforts. The location of the Villa was perfect for us (wedding nearby) and having direct access to an amazing beach was really special. Sunsets, endless stars at night, a large & clean swimming pool, comfortable beds…..the list of positives is a long one. We highly recommend this property because it exceeded our (already high) expectations.

5-star experience

From the moment we booked this home it was 5 star service. Juan Pablo, the home owner, was ready to answer any questions we had concerning booking and the House Manager/Concierge Krysta was a wealth of information. We booked a multi-family vacay for 12 people ages 4yrs to 50’s. We all had a ball! The house is spacious, beautifully decorated and plenty of bedrooms for us all. The huge kitchen was our gathering space most days if we weren’t splashing around in the large pool. From the daily cleaning ladies to the floor to ceiling windows, comfy beds and outdoor entertainment spaces, this house has everything you need for a good time and a luxury experience. Juan Pablo and Krysta were there to greet us and were available for whatever we needed. We had an SUV and Van for transport and it was fun to navigate the Los Pargos neighborhoods. The house sits just footsteps from the beach and to wake to the ocean every morning was truly breathtaking. We arranged a catered welcome lunch and a personal chef experience on our last night with the help of Krysta and she was there to see us off on our last day which was a nice personal touch. This house is great for families , friend groups and girls trips as well. A great option to keep everyone under the same roof. Do yourself a favor and book this home if you’re ready to go to the Tamarindo area.

Playa negra villa

We stayed for about a week at the home with 4 adults and 3 children ages 7,1, and 1. The booking process was smooth with Juan answering all of my questions and concerns promptly. Once booked, Juan and Krysta reached out to extend a welcome and offer any assistance in booking adventures, private chef, and were very responsive to our needs. They met us on arrival and walked us through the beautiful home. The pictures were more than accurate. The property was beautiful and the view to die for! The house was nicely decorated and it was plenty of room for the kiddos to run around and play. Rooms were spacious, the beds were comfy, AC in every room, a view from every bedroom. It was a dream! The property was about 1.5 hours from Liberia airport and roads were smooth about 90% of the way. The local eateries nearby were great and everyone was very friendly! The location was remote yet close enough to drive to great restaurants, beaches, and adventures. This was our first family vacation renting a home and it exceeded all expectations! We felt very safe and comfortable. The housekeeping crew were amazing ! They came every morning and reset the entire home and made it feel like a hotel or resort. Laundry was also included which was a huge bonus especially with kids! We loved this place overall and can’t wait to come back in the future! Krysta came by at checkout and was very helpful in making sure we didn’t leave anything. Great service! Great times! Highly recommend!

Heaven on Earth!

Our family of 8 had the most wonderful time staying at this gorgeous home in Playa Negra! The view of the beach and sunsets were exquisite. And the pool right off the deck was amazing! It is hands down the best home we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in some beautiful homes over the years. The architecture is simple and amazing! Pablo and the house manager, Krysta, were so kind and attentive before we arrived and during the entirety of our stay. They both greeted us when we arrived and made us feel right at home. The house was very clean! Having a clean rental house is very important to us. The housekeepers were also gracious. We didn’t utilize them every day because we like to keep a tidy house, but they were very sweet and mindful of our space when they did come. The beach is within walking distance. We enjoyed walks on the beach, watching the surfers, having surf lessons and time in the ocean catching the waves. We did a couple of fun excursions. Javier was our guide for all of our activities. We did surf lessons, went on a fun hike to a waterfall and paddle boarded through the Mongroves. We dined out each night at some of the most delicious restaurants. Krysta made reservations for our dinners and for all of our excursions with Javier which was so helpful during our trip. We absolutely loved the private town of Playa Negra and hope to return one day ! Thank you for making our stay wonderful ! 😎👌🌊

A Perfect Vacation

It's hard to overstate what a magical experience we have just had at this beautiful home in Playa Negra. We were a large group of 11 -- including children, teens, and adults -- in search of the ideal base for a week of exploring this sleepy surf town. We found everything we wanted in this gorgeous house and in the extraordinary care of Juan Pablo, its gracious homeowner. First of all, the house is immaculate and still NOT a bit precious. You can see from the pictures that nearly every room is ocean facing, allowing for vistas and cool breezes, and an easy in/out flow. We had ample space to hang out together and find our privacy when we wanted it. The outdoor spaces were perfect for swimming, doing yoga, sunbathing, cooking and eating, and enjoying cocktails (on the rooftop deck). No detail is overlooked -- from the organic soaps in the bathrooms to the quality of the linens to the well-organized kitchen. Juan Pablo took great care of us, acting as our personal concierge. He set up surf lessons, sailing, a local in-home chef; provided restaurant and shopping suggestions; addressed any concern we had immediately; and ensured the house was cleaned daily by two expert housekeepers. Truly, we were torn between pursuing activities outside the house and simply staying put -- enjoying every sunrise and sunset is an activity (and a photographer's dream) on its own. As a group, we have traveled pretty extensively and rented often through VRBO. This experience was singular in so many ways -- the house is beautiful and in such a perfect location. AND, the homeowner was so generous in his care of us. In most rentals, we never see the homeowner, much less interact with him or her. Sometimes, property managers were remote or even unresponsive. By contrast, Juan Pablo was genuinely interested in our having a really amazing time in this home -- which he built and cares for -- in a place he loves. Truly, my only regret in writing this gushing review is that when we look to rent this house again in the future, it will be booked for years to come.
