A lovely cottage with everything we needed for our short stay on the island. All of the practical arrangements worked very smoothly, and they even contacted us to let us know we had left something behind while checking out. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Clean, comfortable and convenient. We came to Shanklin to undergo a sea swim from nearby Sandton. We loved the cottage. The location is great. It was a 15min walk from the pretty end of the bay. The owners were easy to contact and the cottage was perfect for our needs
We cannot wait to stay at Mallards View again. Wonderful property with everything you need in place, including some very welcomed extra treats. It is situated across the road from a lovely park and duck pond, in a very quiet area. The perfect property for complete rest and relaxation. We cannot praise it enough and hope its available when we stay on the island again.
Great Property with easy access to Sandown Old Village and Beach. Excellent communication. Having tea, milk and snack waiting when we arrived in the rain was most welcome.
Lovely stay. Property was in excellent condition and was more than adequate for our needs. Nice welcoming gifts too although never found the ducks to give them their feed! Shanklin was a great place to stay with lots of nice shops. Several supermarkets close by as well. Overall, Iâd definitely recommend staying here.
Stayed at the Mallards for a few nights and itâs a great little pad. Easy walk into Shanklin for views, food, etc with a great park opposite to have fun with children. Owners very open to any feedback - one of the single beds was slightly less comfortable than others which where lovely
Myself and my partner stayed here for our holiday together and we had such an amazing time. The property was perfect for us and we honestly couldn't fault it! So nice and cosy with just a short walk into Shanklin where there are lots of nice restaurants and shops. Thank you so much- we wouldn't hesitate to book again in the future! :)
We had a wonderful stay here, the basket of goodies was lovely and very handy to have some milk/tea on arrival. The place is very clean and well located. The only downside for me was the shower which lacked any power. Other than this a fab stay thank you.
The property was exactly what we wanted and was lovely to stay in. The rooms were a fantastic size and was a great base to explore the local town which was a short walk away. It was fully equipped and we were also really lucky to have some lovely sunny weather. We look forward to coming back and staying again soon.
A lovely holiday had by all. đ
Gorgeous property. Very clean and tidy. Really appreciated the thoughtfulness and attention to detail with the fixtures and fittings. Very comfortable beds. Everything's thought of! Only suggestion would be a second, downstairs toilet which would have been welcome. Thanks for a wonderful stay :-)
Lovely clean and modern vacation base for all the Isle of Wight
We stayed in Mallards View for 2 nights during November 2023, so the whole area was quiet. The cottage was fantastically clean with nice decor, and small space was cleverly used. Great location to walk into Shanklin and you can even catch a bus. There is a lovely park and walking path (SS10 & 85) to town across the road. What didn't we love? Honestly nothing really bothered us, but choice of washing machine in the kitchen instead of a dishwasher may be a challenge for a larger group doing true self catering. The shower (no tub) is the size of a Japanese telephone booth. The property is very close to Church Road (30mph) but it was quiet at night.
Beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Spacious and light . This was a perfect place for our overnight stay. Goody basket, tea, coffee and milk was a great extra.
Excellent placed and lovely property.
I always find I could do with more shelves in bathroom and cupboards in bedrooms. But beds were comfortable. Quiet area. And Christmas shop in shanklin. What more do you need.
Simply perfect stay at Mallards View. Last min get away with my wife and daughter and couldnât be happier with our choice. Itâs got a lovely cottage cozy feel to it but with enough space that you donât feel cramped.
Location was perfect for getting about the island, pubs/restaurants/coffee/shops a 5min walk in Shanklin old town. Lots of family attractions within a 20-30min drive and a huge park opposite the cottage with a duck pond too.
Will definitely be coming back!
Just a short walk from the beautiful old Shanklin high street, this accommodation was cosy and perfectly suited for a break on the Isle of Wight. Perfect as a base to get around the island, and a minute's walk from the pond to feed the ducks with the provided food - not to forget the human treats! Thanks!
Property delightful, cosy, equipped well and as described. Lovely views across the park to snuggle up to during cold or wet moments. Excellent public transport links from the ferry ports via train and bus, with a bus stop outside the property where you can get to every part of the island, perfect for us who prefer to travel without a car. Step on to the coastal path in a matter of minutes to explore the wonderful coast path. Shanklin is full of fabulous eateries, both on the beachfront and âold Shanklinâ especially the Village Inn located just 2 mins walk from the property. Plenty of grocery stores to stock up for home cooking too. Perfect exploring break for my 11 year old son and I. Owners fabulous and accommodating even with last minute requests, you wonât regret staying here, I have no doubt weâll be returning for future trips.
Well maintained and comfortable apartment, 5 minutes walk from the centre of old shanklin. Everything we needed was provided and was good quality. Handy for both Shanklin and buses around the island.
We first holidayed on the IOW when our son was just one and found ourselves falling in love and revisiting every year. As our family has grown we still spend as much time as possible on the island. As a result, we now have this quaint second holiday home. The Beach House on Shanklin Esplanade was our first home on the island and is in an ideal location next to the beach. It is also another good base for exploring the rest of the island from. If you would like to take a look, its property number is 1835418.
Mallards View gives us the cosy cottage escape with a very short walk to all the beauty of Shanklin Old Town. The cottage has a beautiful picturesque park and duck pond adjacent to it.
