One gable end of the monastery survives to this day and is a scheduled ancient monument. There are footpaths through the grounds to walk the dog, with more great walking in Eskdale and Wasdale. Within a two mile radius you will discover Bootle village, with shop, Millstones cafe, The Brown Cow pub and a sand and shingle beach.
