April Cottage is a delightful holiday home set within a sought-after Norfolk village, perfectly positioned just 12 miles from the sweeping sands of Brancaster Beach and the unspoilt beauty of Scolt Head Island. Surrounded by picturesque countryside, the cottage offers easy access to scenic walks, peaceful cycling routes and some of Norfolk's most treasured landmarks, including the magnificent Sandringham Estate and the grand Houghton Hall.

Tucked away along a quiet village road, April Cottage provides a cosy and welcoming escape that is ideal for couples, friends or families. With two comfortable double bedrooms, the property accommodates up to four guests and is perfectly suited for both short breaks and longer summer holidays. The interiors are finished to a high standard, combining charm and comfort with thoughtful modern touches. A log burner creates a warm and inviting atmosphere during cooler months, while full room heating ensures year-round comfort.

The well-equipped kitchen features an electric oven and hob, a fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, toaster, slow cooker and washing machine, along with all necessary cookware, crockery and utensils. The comfortable living areas include two Smart TVs and WiFi, making it easy to relax after a day exploring the coast and countryside. The bathroom offers a bath with shower over, and guests are provided with bed linen and bath towels for convenience.
Outside, an enclosed courtyard provides a private space to unwind, complete with outdoor seating, a table and BBQ — perfect for al fresco dining on warm evenings. There is a private parking space directly in front of the cottage, with additional on-street parking available nearby. The village itself has a welcoming pub serving food.

Cozy comfortable stay

We enjoyed our stay. The cottage was clean and comfortable. Places to visit were not too far away and there is a small grocers nearby to pop into for any foodie bits - "Andy's". We had incredible weather and visited three nearby beeches.

Lovely place to stay

April cottage was absolutely gorgeous. Everything we needed was there, easy check in process and good communication with the host. Good location for visits to Sandringham and Holkham Hall.

very good little cottage nicely furnished with very comfortable beds.very well equiped crockery and cutlery.the only minor fault was some of the surfaces were dusty

Hi Ken Thank you for taking the time to review April Cottage. I am so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay. I am so sorry to hear that some of the surfaces were dusty. I have checked the calendar and it looks like the property had been empty for a couple of weeks before your stay. It was thoroughly cleaned after the last guests vacated but would perhaps have benefitted from an addition dusting before you arrived. I do hope this did not spoil your enjoyment.

April Cottage July 2024

We have stayed at April Cottage twice this year the first being in March my only criticism then was that a handrail would be good for the shower area in the bath. I was pleased to see that one had been installed upon our arrival for our latest stay. The Cottage has everything you need for your base in North Norfolk. Comfortable, quiet with plenty of room for 3 or 4 adults. It's well equipped and there is a decent pub within a short walk. Fakenham is only 10 minutes away where you will find a large Tesco for all your needs.

Small cosy cottage

The cottage is small and cosy - extremely well equipped. There is no dishwasher as listed and unfortunately the log burner was due a service so we couldn’t use that. The beds are comfortable and the rooms warm. The kitchen has everything you need if you want to cater for yourself. We did have an issue with the drainage from the shower - we reported this and within the day the issue had been solved. Great communication from the owner. The cottage was a great base for exploring North Norfolk

Stayed at April Cottage for long weekend in August

The cottage is lovely and in a quiet village with a nice pub. Location is great as Holkham and Brancaster beaches are 20 minutes away by car. We had a lovely time visiting these and other nice estates such as Sandrigham and good meal at the PUB one of the evenings. It was great that the cottage was pet friendly so we brought our family dog along with our children. The property had everything we needed, including some essentials (soaps/detergents etc...), but could have been a bit more clean and the kitchen is a bit outdated. There were some flies downstairs so that was not very nice and was not clear why that was the case. I think that a few days before our arrival there was an issue with the water tank in the roof, perhaps that caused an influx on flies. All in all however it was a good stay for the price and we may come back.

Its always good for future guests to read these things first hand There had indeed been an issue with the hot water and a leak the week before which the owner sorted straight away. I am not sure if that's what caused the issue with the flies or if it is just that time of the year. We do hope you decide to come and stay again soon. Many thanks

Disappointed

I don’t normally write reviews but on this occasion I felt it was necessary, especially due to the lack of communication from cleaning company & landlords direct. On arrival there was a smell of dogs in the lounge, the floors had not been hoovered so there were lots of bits & fluff rolling around also carpet in lounge had lots of dog hairs on it , dog hairs & a lot of cobwebs & spiders in corners of rooms, also stains on floor in kitchen where it had not been mopped, cutlery was very stained & needs soaking in some Milton, outside space there was some dog poo & cigarette nubs that had been left, upstairs was the same story apart from there was a dirty tissue that had been left under the bed just by bedside table, beds were clean but there were a lot of hairs on bedding, we felt it had just had the very basics done cleaning wise, lots of dust on skirting boards etc, bathroom floor not been cleaned hairs & dust in corners, tried to get in touch with cleaners but did not reply to my email & also rang landlords twice with no communication from them either. It’s such a shame as it’s in a great location but I honestly would not recommend due to the slap dash cleanliness of the cottage, we would definitely not return

Cosy cottage in great location.

From start to finish this break was just what we hoped it would be. A lovely cottage, set in a friendly village with a great pub and coffee shop, with fantastic beaches for long walks. Add to that beautiful October sunshine and a chance to see the Snettisham Spectactular what more could we ask. Thank you.
