Located in the Tuscan countryside, Castello di Renai is a magnificent property just 30' away from Florence.
Surrounded by a beautiful garden with a private pool (10 x 5 m), set on its own terrace, it can be reached from a flight of open stairs from the entrance courtyard, with an adjacent enclosed lawn. The villa offers also offers an outdoor pool set on a large maintained garden complete with a furnished terrace and gazebos. The outside loggia is shaded and is furnished with teak chaise longues and sun beds.
Finally, there also is a cold-water shower at the far end under a cypress tree at guests' disposal.
Castello di Renai is located in Castelfiorentino, in the heart of the Tuscan countryside, and is a perfect central location to visit not only the wonderful city of Florence (just 40 minutes), but also other beautiful Tuscan cities such as Siena, Lucca and Pisa.
In the surrounding area there are also some ancient Tuscan villages, little pearls of this region, easily accessible by car such as:
- Certaldo Alta, a medieval village where the Italian writer and poet Giovanni Boccaccio lived;
- San Miniato, historic Napoleone Bonaparte's destination during his Italian Campaign, renowned for its white truffles;
- San Gimignano is set on a hill and is characterized by its beautiful towers and for Vernaccia (famous Tuscan white wine, the first Italian wine to receive the mark of DOC, Controlled Designation of Origin, in 1966); - Vinci is the birthplace of Leonardo, the famous Italian painter, engineer and scientist.
For sport lovers, there are different alternatives. A few kilometers away from the castle, in fact, are available golf courses at the Golf Club Toscana Resort Castelfalfi (27 km) and tennis courts at the Tennis Club San Miniato (21 km). Moreover, the surrounding area is ideal for trekking and biking trails.

Set on 2 levels with a marble staircase, Castello di Renai has spacious living spaces with a fireplace and an equipped kitchen featuring a dining area, terracotta flooring and exposed-beam ceilings and an en-suite bedroom with a hot tub on the ground floor. On the upper floor, there are 5 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, some with a balcony.
Ground floor:
On the ground floor, the front door leads into a large, cosy living room with a fireplace. On the left, a beautiful marble staircase winds up to the first floor. From the living room a corridor provides access to the rest of the house. The spacious and fully equipped kitchen on the right has terracotta flooring and beamed ceilings. Along the corridor, beyond a guest bathroom, there is a sumptuous dining room with French windows that access the courtyard. Further on, the Yellow living room with fireplace has a reading room alcove with TV, computer with Wi-fi connection and fax. To the right, the double bedroom of Federico Barbarossa has an en-suite bathroom with Jacuzzi bath.
First floor:
On the first floor, at the top of the marble staircase, a long corridor leads to the bedrooms. On the right there is the Yellow double bedroom – again with en-suite bathroom with shower and Jacuzzi bath. To the left there are two twin bedrooms, the Celeste and the Pink bedroom - both with their own bathrooms, one with shower and tub and the other with shower. Towards the end of the corridor on the left a double bedroom with outside balcony overlooks the front yard. It is next to its own bathroom with both shower and Jacuzzi bath. There is also a laundry room with wardrobe and second staircase leading down to the ground floor.
XII Century tower:
The annex is a medieval tower standing alongside the villa (part of the original castle) and has its own access. From the living room on the ground floor a staircase takes you up to a double bedroom with its own bathroom with shower. With a breathtaking roof terrace.
Garden:
In front of the Villa a big garden with a breathtaking view on the Tuscan countryside: dramatic views of the undulating, fertile countryside below, as far as the towered town of San Gimignano which is just visible on the horizon to the south.
A staircase leads down to the swimming pool of 10 x 5 meters surrounded by a lawn and an arcaded loggia. Behind is a shower and a fridge.
Lemon house:
Limonaia converted into a casual sitting room, with six arched windows offering sweeping views of surrounding countryside. Breathtaking roof terrace.
Chapel:
XIII century chapel dedicated to Saint Bartholomew, restored in the XVIII century, contains a XIII crypt.
Note: The Castle can accommodate a maximum of 12 people, a maximum number of 4 children (aged 12 or less). Pets are not allowed.
