Spacious Cornish Cottage with a Modern Twist, Near Bude, Short Drive to Beach

A spacious, airy detached Crofters Cottage which has been lovingly restored and modernised, Located in the Beautiful Cornish Village of Marchamchurch.

Nestling within the glorious North Cornwall countryside, with breath taking views towards the North Cornish Coast. Croft Cottage is an ideal retreat for couples, family and friends wanting to escape and unwind. The golden sands of Bude and Widemouth Bay, are only 2 miles away, which have excellent surfing, pretty coves and dramatic coastal walks.

The cottage is our family home and we have recently renovated it to make a modern comfortable and relaxing family space, while keeping some of its charm.

The Cottage is located on the edge of the village, a 5 min walk from the village shop and pub. Its not only peaceful, but super safe for kids and families. Outside you will find a area for every time of day, be it on the south facing front garden, or the large decking area to the rear with awesome panoramic views of the Cornish country side and glimpses of the sea.

Ground Floor

The living space comprises of a modern open plan 35m2 space with a large dinning table and new fitted fully equipped kitchen; including a double range with electric oven & gas hob, integrated appliances & island. 5m wide sliding doors open out straight onto a large decking with uninterrupted views of the North Cornwall Coast.

Off the large open plan living space is a cosy intimate snug, with log burner, smart TV and comfortable sofa. Providing a quiet space to enjoy some down time. Tucked away in the hallway to the front door, out of site is the utility area, with both washing machine and tumble dryer.

Also on the ground floor at the front of the house is the study; with desk space and quiet seating area ideal for getting away from it all to read a book. This room also doubles as a fourth bedroom with a sofa bed.

There is also a Downstairs Toilet and boot room located at the side entrance to the house.

Upstairs

Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms and a family bathroom. The master bedroom offers a touch of luxury with plenty of space, a comfortable King Size bed, bespoke inbuilt plywood wardrobes, plus a luxurious en-suite with a wet room, walk in shower, basin and WC. From this bedroom you can take in wonderful views across the fields to the coast.
The second bedroom is a quaint cosy bedroom with full sized bunk beds, situated directly along hall from the master bedroom; ideal for kids or adults sharing.

The 3rd bedroom is a comfortable double with views of the front garden.
The family bathroom comprises of a full size bath, over bath electric shower, basin and WC.

Outside

The outside space is widely varied. The front garden is south facing and has sun all day and makes a great mid morning coffee spot on the patio out front. There is a large lawn area ideal for ball games with the little ones, and use of the wooden swings and trapeze.

We like to grow as much of our own food as possible, the side garden consists of a large strawberry patch, blueberry and blackberry bushes and two further raised beds with various seasonal produce. This area leads round to the rear garden, which has a large decking area, lawn and more raised beds. There is an out side shower (cold only) which is great for cooling of after a hot afternoon or washing down after a trip to the beach.

Out and About

The Popular seaside town of Bude is just 5 minuets drive away and offers a choice of beaches as well as shops restaurants and bars. There is also a lovely tidal swimming pool, which offers a safe place for swimmers and is free of charge. From the door of the Cottage, there are walks and bike rides for all abilities; including along the tow paths of the historic canal which takes you all the way to Bude. Or fancy a walk to the beach there is beautiful walk over the hill, through a small woodland and across fields to large sandy beach of Widemouth bay; which has several cafes, pubs and surf facilities (surf lessons and rentals).

There are Watersports and fishing for you to enjoy at the nearby Tamar Lakes. Within easy reach from the Cottage there is coastal and country walking, golf, surfing, horse riding and cycling on the National Cycle Route which passes by the cottage. Or simply relax, in this stunning location.

Further afield there are ancient towns and pretty fishing villages dotted along the coast from Padstow, Tintagel, Crackington Haven and Port Issac in Cornwall; to Westward Ho!, Clovelly and Instow in Devon. Or the famous Eden Project is within easy reach.
