Large 17th century townhouse in centre of Forcalquier with terrace and views
Come and enjoy the charm of our very original historic four-storey townhouse in the heart of the old town of Forcalquier. Beautiful stone and clay tiled floors, stone spiral staircase, and a relaxing patio leading off the kitchen where you can spend summer evenings. Although the house is in a quiet part of Forcalquier, it is only a few minutes' walk from bars and restaurants. The famous Monday-morning market is also just a short walk away.
As you enter the house you come into a hall/living room; on the first floor is a modern kitchen opening on to a private terrace; on the second floor is the living room/bedroom with a sofa bed and on the top floor a large, bright, airy bedroom with en-suite bathroom and mezzanine. The view from there is lovely, looking out across the roof tops to the moutains beyond Forcalquier.
I have been living in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence region since 2008, and have visited many of its beautiful areas and beyond. A keen hiker and runner, I can give you advice on walks and cycle routes. I live right next door and will be happy to answer any question; equally I will not interfere and you will have privacy throughout your stay.
This property truly has so much character. It is an old stone "maison de village" with one main room on each of the four floors, and each floor is reached by the stone spiral staircase. Three of the four main rooms have wooden beams in the ceiling.
The experience of staying right in the heart of the old part of Forcalquier in an old stone house that is full of character. Although you will be close to everything, just a couple of minutes' walk from restaurants and bars, and Monday morning market, the house is in a quieter corner of the village.
