Al Hambra is a Former stables and hay lofts; this is a spacious Gite with enclosed courtyard. Sleeps up to 10 people in total.Relaxing large open plan kitchen/dining/lounge area with second lounge over looking views of the countryside and outside space to enjoy the long warm Gascon evenings, private courtyard garden terrace and outside barbecue area.

Traditional Gascogne style farmhouse with 2 Gites attached ( it is possible to rent both gîtes together). The converted former stables and former armagnac distillery sleeps up to 10 . Sitting in an elevated position facing south over looking the beautiful rolling hills of the department know as the Gers bordering Lot et Garonne & Landes. La Platte and shared pool is set in 2 hectors of park land backing onto the regional national park of the Gers. Market towns of Nérac, Fources,
Gabarret, Eauze, Mezin and Condom are within easy reach. Enjoy good food, fine wine and Armagnac. Book our two gîtes together for larger groups. Shared pool. Discrete Owners live on site . No pet policy for clients. ( owners have a friendly dog in gated garden and two friendly cats who roam the gardens- clients are advised to keep doors shut if they do not wish the cats to enter the gîtes )No parties or loud music. House rules in Gîte. Pond in garden. Non- gated pool ( alarm only), steep staircase with open treads, glass full length windows ( may not be suitable for small children) children will need to be supervised at all times.
Pool is shared. There are 2 gîtes on site located next door to each other.
Discreet Owners live on site.. House rules are located in the house and form part of your contract. Breaking the house rules will result in your contract being terminated and no refund will be given. 300€ per day fee plus 500€ extra cleaning charge will be deducted from your damages deposit if extra people or any pets / animals are found on the premises. Children must be supervised at all times.parking available for up to 3 cars. A half day charge will be enforced for early check in and late checkout.

Très agréable séjour

Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour à Saint-Pé. La propriété est très jolie et la belle piscine idéalement située, avec une jolie vue sur la campagne. Des vacances reposantes et apaisantes. Et les hôtes étaient très accueillants.

Bonnes vacances entre amis

La maison est très agréable et très bien entretenue. Un peu juste néanmoins pour 12 personnes (frigo trop petit ). Le cadre extérieur est exceptionnel avec la piscine qui surplombe les coteaux. Cette maison est parfaite si vous cherchez des vacances au vert et reposante. Les principales activités aux alentours (accrobranches, Walibi, Ville de Nerac,...) sont à plus de 30 minutes de route.

Un séjour très agréable

Les propriétaires sont charmants, accueillants et disponibles Le jardin et les espaces extérieurs sont très agréables, la piscine bénéficie d'un très beau paysage. La maison est bien équipée. On peut y dormir à 12 personnes mais l'agencement général et la taille des pièces sont plutôt adaptés à un groupe plus restreint . C'est un très bon point de chute pour découvrir la région, au confins des Landes, du Gers et du Lot et Garonne.

Hello - We are very proud of the beautiful situation of the Gite and the magnificent views.We consider ourselves to be very lucky to live in such a beautiful place... We thank you very much for your observations. In the descriptions on the site we try to show clearly that the Gite sleeps 9-11 people. That means 9 very comfortably, but there is a possibility of sleeping 11 people - but this may compromise slightly on available space.Many clients are very happy to accept this and we have had many large groups who have found the space ideal for their needs. We may also occassionaly agree to accommodate an extra person as a special favour ( at no extra cost financially) - however this is on the logical understanding that this may impact on personal space. However we try our very best to be flexible to our clients needs, budget and wishes. It is also possible to rent out our other Gite next door for those who require extra space, but this will obviously come at an extra financial cost. We believe that Al Hambra offers excellent value for money per head and our customers usually make an calculated choice when booking, whether or not to spend a little more for the added comfort and luxuries of renting the two gites together ( therefore sleeping 12 - 17) . I appreciate your feedback and I will always try to make these choices clear to all our valued customers. Location en tous points conforme à la description. Mathews et son épouse font tout pour que vous vous sentiez à l'aise sans être envahissants. Maison coquette, dans le style "british", avec les atouts du Gers en +. Vous pouvez réserver les yeux fermés ! Pour les amoureux du calme et de la nature.

We were won over by the place which has all the comfort necessary to spend a pleasant stay of relaxation and well being. The warm welcome of the owners and the wood fire allowed us to have a memorable New Year's Eve party and the big table to welcome all our guests.

Un séjour inoubliable à réitérer dès que possible!

Mon séjour dans la famille Bell est sans aucun doute mon meilleur souvenir de cet été. Jillian et Matthew sont aux petits soins pour leurs invités. Ils sont tout deux d'une gentillesse incroyable, rendant le séjour encore plus chaleureux. Le cadre est idéal : pas un bruit la journée, mis à part le chant des oiseaux, la piscine exposée au soleil toute la journée permet de se rafraîchir puis de bronzer en sirotant un "Orange Juice". Les chambres sont coquettes, on ne souffre pas de la chaleur la nuit et les lits sont confortables. La salle de bain est propre et tout y est pour qu'on se sente comme chez soi..! Al Hambra est vraiment LE LIEU pour passer des vacances au calme, en profitant du soleil et du chant des oiseaux. En outre, diverses activités sont possibles dans les environ : Acro-branche, aqua-parc, tennis, ping-pong, équitation... On a même cuisiné nos pizzas & cookies, avec des recettes anglaises ! Les plats que nous concoctent Matthew et Jillian sont tout bonnement succulents. Leur cuisine est à la fois raffinée et gourmande; il y en a pour tous les goûts ! En plus d'avoir rencontré d'autres personnes, j'ai passé une semaine mémorable sous le soleil du Sud ! Je garde un excellent souvenir de cette expérience, qui devrait d'ailleurs se réitérer pendant l'été 2017 !

Une famille adorable !

Cela fait plusieurs fois que je vais faire un séjour chez la famille Bell. C'est une famille adorable à laquelle je suis très attachée ! Grâce aux Bell j'ai pu améliorer mon anglais dans un cadre chaleureux et détendu. Les activités sont très variés et les leçons sont agréables car ludiques. La nourriture est particulièrement bonne !! J'ai réellement passé des moments inoubliables dans cette famille que j'espère revoir au plus vite.

Amazing

On arrival we were stunned by the property and the grounds, tastefully decorated and furnished, the pool is fabulous! Jill is so friendly and helpful and bakes delicious cakes while Matthew is very knowledgeable about the local area with the best places to visit. My family have said it's our best holiday so far and would definitely visit again. Thank you The Bell Family!

Perfect in every way

We booked Al Hambra as a base for us whilst we were house hunting. We could not have chosen a better place. Matthew and Gillian were perfect hosts and spent time sitting down with us offering us tips and advise on the local area. In-fact without their help, we would not have found our perfect house which we moved into in September. The gite is perfectly kitted out and is extremely comfortable with a beautiful pool to laze around when the mood takes and a lovely terrace to have early evening drinks whilst watching the wildlife. We even had some friends fly out and join us so that they could make the most of the gite and setting whilst we were out and about house hunting. Très bon séjour dans la belle campagne française

Très bel endroit calme et reposant, le silence est absolument fantastique ! Brume mystique le matin et lumière divine la journée ! Un décor très romantique ! Gite très confortable et parfaitement équipé, patio privatif et belle piscine qui doit être très agréable en été ! De nombreux sites à visiter aux alentours . Des hôtes charmants et très accueillants

Beautiful region

The properties are clean and comfortable in a lovely setting and within easy travelling distance of some very pretty towns and villages. The pool is maintained to a high standard and provided welcome relief from the blazing sunshine during our stay. A car is essential to make the most of your time in the region. Why then would I tick "no" to the question " would you recommend this property to your friends?" Simply because......... Unfortunately, during our stay, the handle to the pool umbrella was broken by one of our party and whilst this is regrettable, it was certainly not through abuse of the equipment and accidents will happen. What I was not prepared for was the extremely aggressive manner in which I was spoken to by the owner when he ordered me to accompany him to the pool side to explain how the damage occurred. On returning home, I queried the fact that the cost of a brand new umbrella had been deducted from our security deposit. I was able to provide photographs of the damage which very clearly indicated that there was rust in place around the winding mechanism. My query prompted a long e-mail detailing a number of "issues" that our party had caused throughout the week, these ranged from extremely petty to completely fabricated i.e glass bottles around the pool, water bombs, rubbish and lolly sticks in the pool and smoking in the gite. Whilst two of our party are smokers, they absolutely did not and would not smoke inside as our family group included two young children, there is no way that we would have compromised their safety in this way. We also cleared everything away at the end of each day throughout our stay. The owners live in the distillery attached to the rental properties and are on- site for most of the time, following the incident with the umbrella they monitored our every move making it difficult for us to relax and enjoy the remainder of our holiday. In our experience, they seemed to have difficulty in differentiating between house guests and paying guests, the latter must be allowed to spend their holiday in the way they choose, as long as the properties are treated with respect. Surely, if you are advertising both properties together and are happy to accept the rental income that 19 people generates, you must also accept a certain level of disruption with a group of this size. There is a fine line between being attentive and intrusive, unfortunately, in our experience, the owners have yet to master the art.

Your review, sits very incongruously amongst our good record of glowing reviews, which should immediately send alarm bells ringing in the minds of any discerning traveller. We pride ourselves in offering a friendly, relaxing environment for all our guests .We take pride in our product & love this region & its people & meeting all of our lovely guests. However, out of the hundreds of people we have welcomed here, there are, thankfully, a rare few, that seem to deliberately ’throw caution to the wind’ whilst on holiday, at other peoples expense. As the grounds and pool are shared with our other customers, we do our very best to provide a clean, tidy, relaxing environment. These are the things that people expect and rightly so. If people are rowdy, have loud disputes amongst themselves, litter or leave possible hazards (glass bottles around the pool). It necessitates us to ask for adjustments in this behavior, before it impacts on other people’s holidays. It is always very disheartening for us to experience such problems but this is extremely rare. Living on site - offers a lot of advantages to our guests: we offer bike hire, book restaurants for guests, recommendations for areas to visit, baby sitting etc. We organize horse riding & sports activities' en-group' at discounted rates, provide delicious homemade meals, cakes, bread and ice cream. Some of these things Barbra and her party very happily took part in and gave us excellent feedback at the time. We can also continue to maintain the standards that people expect and deserve. We know that a customer requires ‘clean’ comfortable and 'well maintained' accommodation at a reasonable price, that is why, in our contract we ask that guests replace any items that they break (new & expensive parasol-for which, we have the original receipt) so that we can keep offering the ‘comfort’ that they enjoyed to our next guest. Otherwise these costs would impact on the rental price of the Gite. We do not think that this would be fair on all the honest, hard working people who save their money to have a nice holiday. Yes we agree 'accidents do happen' and that is why the majority of people replace items without being asked and without complaint and often with an apology. We continue to offer our guests ‘clean and comfortable’ accommodation in a ‘lovely setting” and maintain our ‘high standards’ because we care deeply and we know from hundreds of positive experiences that this is appreciated by most people.

Wonderful accommodation in a beautiful setting

Wonderful accommodation, old French buildings with all the modern conveniences. Better than described with all home comforts. Very clean. Well equipped both inside and out (loungers, comfy sofas, garden table and chairs for dining outside). Beautiful pool in a lovely garden setting. Short drive to restaurants, cafés and markets. River walk just few minutes down quiet road. Friendly and helpful owners gave advice on where to eat, what to see/ do. Will definitely return !

Fantastic place

Marvellous!!

When we arrived at the house we were greeted with a lovely warm welcome and a bottle of wine to begin our holiday! The house was beautiful and well kept and the surrounding area offered an amazing view. As well as being beautifully clean and tidy, the facilities were fantastic. The swimming pool was even bigger than we expected, the pictures don't do it justice, and we spent much of our time relaxing by the pool while the children enjoyed swimming. On the days and evenings that we did venture out there was a huge variety of places to visit and often fetes going on in nearby cities and towns. Matthew was more than happy to suggest places to visit and was very helpful in providing information about local towns, events and lovely restaurants. (All of Matthews suggestions proved to be good ones!) Gill's culinary skills were an added bonus as she made a birthday cake for us at a small fee, and it was delicious! We will not hesitate in going back as we could not have asked for better accommodation, hosts and opportunities for site seeing. A wonderful holiday, we highly recommend!
