Lovely long weekend

"Having previously stayed in Swanpool, we booked its neighbouring lodge when Swanpool was unavailable, and we had an amazing stay! The location and privacy are fantastic. The lodge was spotless, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything we needed-and the hot tub was an added bonus that we really enjoyed! We are already looking at dates for next year.

Very lovely stay!

We stayed for a last minute long weekend. We stayed with our 18 month old daughter for a long weekend. Was in the perfect location for commuting to woolacombe, Ilfracombe etc. Brilliant beaches nearby. We didn't bring out dog this time on our holiday but a very dog friendly lodge with a lovely garden. The garden for this lodge is very much an orchard with trees dotted around the lodge garden and natural foliage, all securely enclosed. The only thing to note with this lodge garden is that a child/ dog is not always in sight in this lodge garden so not ideal for some, but our toddler loved being chased around the trees, although we would have loved a flat open view garden so we could have sit and relaxed whilst she played but believe the other lodges may have this. A brilliant stay in a lovely location and have told all family/ friends about these lodges!

Perfect short break

Having read the reviews we were quite confident that Broadpath was a good choice for a short break..and we were not disappointed. Clean stylish quiet ..early morning road noise didn’t disturb us even with the window open. Very dog friendly, and nice treats left for us and our dog. Quality linens and furnishings, the bed was so comfortable!! Can’t think of anything we needed that wasn’t provided. A big plus point for us was the provision of facilities to recycle our rubbish..especially glass bottles. No drive of shame with our empties rattling around whilst we look for a bottle bank! All in all a lovely break and somewhere we hope to revisit.

Weekend away

The lodge was clean and had everything you needed. Hot tub was good. Location is good for towns and beaches.

Relaxing break

Was looking for a nice relaxing break where we could take the dog, that's exactly what we got lovely lodge and location close to some really nice beaches and pubs for eating out cant stress enough what a nice 4 days we had lovely place and the owners care that you enjoy your stay! Highly recommend!

Another fabulous stay at Great Field Lodges

This is the third time of staying at Great Field Lodges. The accommodation is always top notch and Sarah is always very quick to respond to any queries. The dogs love it here and the enclosed garden is great. We have 2 large dogs and we know we can fully relax and not worry about them getting out. The local beaches are fab and there is lots to do nearby if you like walking and exploring. Thanks for another great stay. Ps the hot tub is a real treat!

Stunning and clean

The lodge was beautiful and the hot tub was so clean. Honestly I could not fault anything it was a beautiful time away. Lodge was clean with everything we needed, the rest and chill time was appreciated after our wedding, even the dog had a blast. Fault less and run beautifully.

Good base for exploring the area, but not quite luxury

The lodge is in a great private position , there are 3 nestled together either side of the entrance. You can hear traffic from the main road however this wasn't an issue for us. There is an EV point provided free of charge for guests which was very welcome. Upon arrival there was a bottle of prosecco and a pint of milk in the fridge along with a box of shortbread. The lodge It is plenty big enough for 2 with an enormous bathroom and a good stocked kitchen. I liked the wraparound decking although visiting in October we didn't utilise this. It would have been nice if a barrier had been added to the edge just to give the feeling of a little more privacy. I was also on crutches and using a mobility scooter at the time and the ramp was just a little high to manoeuvre on and off again safely as it didn't quite meet the ground. There were however a few niggles, mostly the disappointing wifi which wasn't great as it just kept dropping out. We did report this however nothing could be done and we were told as we were leaving that another couple had also complained. This was disappointing as were unable to log into Netflix or use our firestick. I t also meant we couldn't check anything on our phones as there wasn't enough of a signal. Yes I'm aware we are all too reliant on our devices however with no wifi you are simply stuck. Other things we noticed was that the heated towel rail didn't come on once during our stay, luckily the lodge was warm enough and a clothes airer was provided. The toilet also dripped intermittently in the cistern which you could clearly hear and was a bit annoying as the bathroom is right next to the bedroom. Also the toilet roll holder was broken, it wobbled on its stand and the toilet roll kept falling off. The light in the main living area was quite bright so it was nice to have the little one in the far corner on however there could do with one being provided in the dining area of the room as it was quite dark in that corner. The outside shower was a brilliant touch and the hot tub was excellent although it is the only one we have ever visited which doesn't have a lift to help you lift the cover off and on again easily. It was very close to the wall and for one person it was very heavy to move by yourself and gets jammed up against the wall. The hot tub was also only ever heated to a maximum of 38, again every other one has always been to 40 and you could adjust yourself, there was no option to be able to change this yourself. Whilst there is plenty of bushes and trees around helping to add to privacy, the plant growing by the decking near the hot tub really needs cutting back as it is overgrowing leaving not a huge amount of space to walk past it to get to the hot tub without it catching you on the way by. Upon entering the lodge, the light switches are by the door, you cannot switch anything off as you enter the bedroom meaning you have to go back to the main door, switch everything off and return in the dark. Not great if your other half is asleep already. This isn't a well thought out feature. Finally, there were some dreadful cobwebs, I took pictures which were not great and had clearly been overlooked, there is also some sticky stuff, I don't know how else to describe it on the outside walls, especially near where the hooks are for the outside towels so we didn't use these but brought a chair over to balance things on. Not sure what it is however it is unsightly. So, some issues, however it didn't distract from our stay which we needed for some r&r. Not the best place we have stayed in and I certainly wouldn't describe it as a luxury lodge however it was a good base for getting around the local area.

Dog Friendly Retreat

We stayed at Broadpath Lodge and had a thoroughly relaxing break. The lodge was spotlessly clean, well-equipped, and extremely comfortable — perfect for unwinding after long walks. Its location is ideal peaceful and private yet close enough to explore the coast and nearby villages. We especially appreciated how dog-friendly it was, with secure outdoor space and easy access to scenic trails. Our dog settled in straight away! Everything was just as described and the booking process was smooth and reassuring. We’d happily return and recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, comfortable escape with their four-legged companion.

Amazing….

We had the best week here with our dog, beautiful Saunton Sands on the doorstep and perfect location near to Braunton for food. The owners had thought of everything in the lodge and had the best sleep there. We will definitely be back.

Wonderful stay

Fantastic

Lovely place, helpful people, all in all highly recommend a stay to anyone. We have stayed in here bay resort many times and thought we would try some where new. It didn’t disappoint and we can’t wait to come back for another stay

A wonderful Devon escape

We had a fantastic short break at Broad path and will definitely be back; The chalet was spotless and had everything you could want or need for a luxurious relaxing break. Easy access to miles of country lines with the opportunity for our dog to run for miles. We ate at the Duke Dive in Braunton which is a must. We had relaxed breakfasts on the decking in the sun and spent the evenings relaxing in the hot tub, especially after cycling the Tarka trail for miles. A lovely escape, fab hospitality and are already planning our next visit.

Beautiful week in Devon

We had an amazing 4 night stay in the broadpath chalet. The place was immaculate, modern and a great location to both saunton sands, woolacombe and ilfracombe beaches. A 10 min walk to the town centre too. The chalet itself was beautiful, the hot tub was perfect after a day out and is furnished to a high standard. Have already been recommending it to friends and family and would definitely return.

Broadpath, Great Field Lodges

We have recently stayed in the Broadpath Lodge and we couldn’t recommend it enough, the facilities in the lodge was amazing, and we loved the decoration throughout as well as the hot tub! The location of the lodge was also perfect as we could take about a 10 minute walk to the local pubs and restaurants, meaning no need for taxi’s etc. Sarah was also really friendly and the prosecco, flowers and biscuits left for us was a really nice touch, overall loved our stay!

Comfortable and relaxing

Broadpath is very clean and comfortable with everything you need. The small drying room is useful for drying off cosies after using the hot tub or waterproofs/ boots when it rains. It’s ideally situated to explore north Devon and its proximity to Braunton is good for restaurants and for getting about by bus. We have stayed there several times and I’m sure this won’t have been the last.

Perfect!

This was our 2nd stay at Broadpath, and again it won't be our last. Ourselves and our little Whippet love it here. Very secure garden, all the cooking facilities and utensils you need. Most comfortable bed and lovely bedding. Absolutely spotlessly clean. Fab beaches just short drives away, great roads to travel around too. Braunton Burrows also a must and great for dogs. Undercover hot tub so can still be enjoyed in the rain. We'll definitely be back.
