Not a good choice. Would not allow luggage to be taken in a couple hours early requiring us to spend extra for luggage storage. Then went on ferry to view lake and when we got back our GPS could not find apartment. We asked three people and they was also unable to including one local shop owner. When we got host on phone call we insisted she stay on line to get to apartment. By the time we got halfway up the four floors dragging luggage (71 yr old man and wife) the lights go out complete darkness. With only 5 percent of phone power remaining we stumbled to top floor and managed to get key in while using light from phone. Once inside there was no power just very light from outside. When called host says to go downstairs and look for power box. We told that was unacceptable as we could not see in darkness to safely get down steps. So we go directly to bed. The next morning there is a knock on door and a woman comes inside and shows us where a switch in the main electric in back of room was. Power was shut off for some reason. Then when we had to board a Milan train to Innsbruck the following day we could not get an morning train aboard Trenord back to Milan so we contacted host after phone was charged and said we would have to leave around 2 to get an afternoon train to Milan. Luckily I found a hotel there were we stayed previously. When asked the host to give us a one night credit she refused. SO STAY AWAY FROM THIS APARTMENT
We enjoyed our stay in Bellano on Lake Como. The view from the apartment is great and the apartment is well accommodated. Walking to the location from the train station took about 10-15 minutes on narrow and sometimes non-existent sidewalks. And, down a pretty busy street.
The apartment is on the fourth floor of the building and there is no lift, so be prepared to climb some stairs. There was also a washer and a dryer so we were able to do some laundry. Although, we had to turn off all the lights and every other electrical appliance in the apartment in order to use the dryer without tripping the breaker. Otherwise, everything worked well.
The only real challenge was finding the location. If you're not very familiar with Italian streets (as we aren't), you could overlook the "street" as just a walkway between buildings. It took a few messages to the owner to locate the entrance and the keys.
