Family of 4, spent a cheeky 3 nights here in March. Owner and everyone we met who worked there were super nice; the Cider Barn was really friendly and the food was great.
Overall, we could'nt fault the place. Clean, homely, great quality and the kids lived in the hot tub which was piping hot on arrival.
Loved it.
Husbands 60th⊠Great location, lodge very nice, with that little bit of luxury. Very spacious and fantastic layout. Fully equipped with everything a family would need. Great hot tub & we used the log fire which was really cosy on the chilly evenings. (Bring matches) Decor a little tired, radiators leaking & dishwasher not working throughout our stay however, staff immediately tried to fix but unable to until towards the end of our stay so spoilt the relaxing element having to wash up after meals, etc. However, staff very helpful and friendly. Cider Barn located at entrance to the site was great, rustic and great pizza ( do takeaways ) & cider. Again staff in their friendly and accommodating. Would stay again for sure.
Had a lovely time we was left alone and it was very clean. More loo roll maybe. Hot tub was a good size. I really loved the amount of utensils we had like cups and glasses.
I stayed with my two daughters and granddaughter. After a normally 2 hour trip took 5 hours what greeted us was pure bliss. The lodge had everything we needed and more. The complimentary milk, tea and coffee was a lovely touch. The beds were so comfy and the showers lovely. We were able to spend some quality time together cooking in the home from home kitchen. The hot tub was very welcome as we all do jobs where we are on our feet a lot. We had a delicious pizza and nice cold drink at the cider barn while listen to live singers and the surrounding area has so much to offer for all ages and abilities. Will be returning with hubby. Thank you so much.
Really enjoyed our 3 nights stay but few things to note
It was very cold over the weekend we spent in the lodge. The heating is set up on automatic and going to bed in the evening felt very damp and cold. The same in the morning. We are early risers and at 7am heating was not on. It was freezing.
The cider barn looks very rundown. Not a place I would bring even teenagers. They felt very uncomfortable there when we stopped for a drink.
Location is good but you need to drive as even cheddar town not at an easy walking distance from the cottage.
