Appartement 1 chambre récemment rénové avec grande terrasse extérieure. Vous serez juste au bord de l'eau. Juste en dehors de votre maison loin de chez vous se trouve Duck Island. Lorsque la marée est basse, traversez le pont terrestre et explorez les bassins de marée en vous promenant sur l'île. Auke Village Recreational Area est à quelques pas de votre refuge. Promenez-vous le long de la plage jusqu'à Point Louisa et profitez des vues spectaculaires sur la chaîne de montagnes Chilkat. Observez les aigles, les baleines, les loutres et d'autres animaux sauvages depuis votre terrasse. Faites un feu de joie sur la plage et regardez les étoiles. Les sentiers de randonnée abondent à Juneau. Guide et conseils fournis. Louez un kayak à partir d'une tenue locale pour les jours où vous restez ici et pagayez juste devant votre porte d'entrée. It doesn’t get better than this.

Located on Auke bay just north of Juneau and on the water. This was a beautiful private entrance lower floor of a home that overlooks this tranquil bay. It was spacious, well equipped, comfortable, all with great views! Everything works, good heating, hot water, a nice outdoor propane fireplace on a large private deck Overlooking the bay with fishing boats quietly drifting in the waters. This is the perfect place to be close to town and to the numerous hiking opportunities in the area. We arrived after the last cruise ship of the year left Juneau so off season which we prefer. Great restaurants were filled with locals and the food was delicious at the three we visited. We also had dinners at the house as it had everything to cook a complete meal. The host was welcoming and had great local suggestions but also made us feel like we were the only people on the property. This was a 10/10 for us!

Great House

This was our second time staying in Ela’s apartment. It’s a fantastic, comfortable, cozy little place in a picturesque setting close to everything. We look forward to our trip back next year.

Perfect little getaway

Magical!

Thankyou to Ela for a magical stay at the most peaceful haven we have ever stayed at. It was exactly what we hoped for and more! We felt so at home and relaxed from the moment we walked through the door. The views were outstanding, the eagles and our lovely walk to Duck Island a special treat. We certainly wish to come again and certainly suggest that people come to Otter's Hideway.... superb, quiet ,comfortable loving the Alaskan spirit of Ela. Thank you Ela and Mel her dog.

Great location and host

The Hideaway is well stocked with all you need for cooking and general needs. Ela was a great host and we had a great stay here. Auke Bay is really low key and we loved the area too. Close to Mendwnhall glacier and “out the road” towards St Therese was fun.

Living Like Locals...

We had a tremendous stay in this perfect location! Far enough away from the Cruise Ship driven activities downtown to get the feel of the local community, but close enough to easily be in the city when we wanted to be there. Super convent from the airport and all services are close by. The unit was well appointed with everything we needed. The views were stunning from the house! Ela, the host, was spot on from our very first communication at booking to the end of our visit. We could not have been more pleased. Highly recommended!!

Great property

We stayed for a week in July. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate very well for us, but we were able to enjoy some evenings at the fire pit watching the fantastic view. Very quiet and private. Owner lives upstairs with her dog, but there was minimal if any sound that we could hear coming from above. Small but reasonably well stocked kitchen. Bed was comfortable. Property has blackout shades in the bedroom. Lots of nearby hiking. Host was responsive and friendly.

Fine Days in Otter's Hideaway

What a fantastic place -- beautiful view of the bay (we saw seals and porpoises), cozy and delightful apartment and a wonderful host who provided suggestions for hikes, getaways and restaurants. We would stay here again. In fact, we didn't want to leave!

Otter’s Hideaway is the place to stay!

The Otter’s Hideaway was such a beautiful place to stay and our property manager, Ela, and her dog Mel were the best! The place was very clean, homey, and offered amazing views of the bay all day. Whether you’re looking for a nice retreat or just a place to stay on a part of your trip, you can’t get any better than the Otter’s Hideaway! 10/10 would definitely stay again and I’m looking forward to staying there again in the near future.

A magical stay

The Alaska Airlines flight attendant said, "Have a magical day," just after we landed in Juneau. I thought it was cute. Little did I know I was in for several magical days. Otter's Hideaway and the host, Ela, are incredible. Read the other reviews about how comfortable and thoughtfully appointed it is. For me, the magical part was outside. I didn't just get to see porpoises, eagles, ravens, otters, and sea urchins and stars, I got to experience how they live. The ravens hunted worms. Sea stars clung to rocks as the tide went out. A pair of eagles spent most of their day perched in pine trees or sitting an a nearby dock. And the porpoises were almost always feeding and playing on the cove. I experienced a lot of great things during my stay in Juneau, but the best thing was being connected to nature at Otter's Hideaway. Thank you Ela (and Mel)!

An amazing place to stay

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. The kitchen was very well stocked and the washer/dryer was very useful for our wet clothes during the stormy weather. We walked over to Duck Island during the low tide. It was an easy drive to the airport, Glacier Visitor Center, and Downtown. The host communicated early and often which improved our experience. It was nice to be somewhere away from the tourist areas and be able to see other parts of the city.

Otter’s Hideaway is a good name for this property - very quiet and peaceful. The apartment is well-stocked with lots of thoughtful extras (i.e backpack) and the decor is delightful.

The property is absolutely magnificent. Inside it is decorated with artwork from the area. Not to mention the well stocked kitchen and bathroom. The view is phenomenal and peaceful. Everything was Amazing

Amazing view, everything you could possibly need is provided, well stocked home with cleaning supplies, cooking accessories, towels, blankets etc. The home is very clean, host is friendly and provides lots of great suggestions in the area. Hiking trail right down the road, not far from downtown but far enough to feel relaxed and out of the city. Best home I’ve stayed in, can’t recommend it enough.

Weekend Getaway

Otter’s Hideaway is a phenomenal property inside and out. Ela has provided everything a guest could ever want and or need. The furnishings are comfortable and thoughtful. There are several places to sit and enjoy the view. The sheets and towels are high quality and very soft. I will be coming back again!

Perfect for our stay

We spent 6 days at Otters Hideaway for our honeymoon. We absolutely loved the location, not too far from Juneau but far enough that it feels secluded from the crowds. You're basically within 10-20 minutes from everything! Ela was a fantastic host, very friendly and communicative. You simply don't find hosts that think of everything their guests may need anymore. We enjoyed watching wildlife from the porch and opening the windows to fall asleep to the sounds of the tide. This place is cozy, comfortable bed, soft towels, well stocked kitchen to easily cook a meal, and spacious for my husband and I. We would highly recommend and stay again! Thank you, Ela for having us!

I was living in California when I took a summer break to be in Alaska. I spent the summer in Gustavus which is a ferry ride or short flight from Juneau. I fell in love with the vast majestic beauty of Alaska and decided to stay. I choose Juneau because it offered more emenities and yet all this wilderness to explore. I absolutely love it here. It is a magical place.
