In the middle of nowhere, but not far from shops, restaurants etc. Lovely views. Sounds of farm animals. Dogs had an enclosed garden. Hot tub is an added bonus. Will definitely recommend
Absolutely wonderful. The calf shed had all the required amenities. Very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. Fabulous peaceful location with amazing views. We made the best of the hot tub which was a bonus. The lovely cakes left on our arrival were a nice touch too!! Would highly recommend
Beautiful spot for a stay on a working dairy farm with fantastic views and hot tub. Clean, great amenities, fantastic host who gave us a tour round. Heaven!
Myself and two friends stayed here for a weekend. What a little gem this place is!! Utterly amazing views, beautiful cottage and the hosting farm dogs were our best friends by the end of our stay! We will definately be returning! Ps the hot tub was fab!
Lovely property in a beautiful quite location. The property had everything you needed. Our host Julie was welcoming and made a gorgeous afternoon tea. Would recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing weekend with Children and Dog. Would definitely stay again.
Lovely countryside place if you're needing a break away from the city, but still only a short drive away from Otley town centre with lots to do there and plenty of places for walks! we will 100% be booking again and have already sent the links to friends!
The cottage was as described and depicted. It was cosy and comfortable with everything you would need. Beds were really comfortable, had good sleeps. The hot tub was incredible, amazing views and a real luxury.
A well equipped cottage with comfy beds. Beautiful views. Lovely hot tub. Julie was very helpful and even provided home made cakes and fresh milk. Would highly recommend we will definitely come back.
We had a wonderful 2 night stay, Julie was an amazing host and answered all my questions about the working dairy farm.
Julie let us work around the farm and see the cows and the calves.
Such a beautiful setting and so peaceful. We canât wait to return.
Well it was just nice⊠I personally had issues and would only give it a 3 star rating.
Donât quite understand how everyone gave it 5*⊠that is really misleading and unfair for the next family.
Yes the place was lovely but you donât have everything you need. Baring in mind you have to travel and need your own items, the bare essentials was not available but you may be able to obtain them if you ask. I personally didnât want to constantly ask and felt like I was being bothersome.
The wifi was very poor, connection in one room only!
4 coffee capsules only, maybe details of the coffee machine should be mentioned, so one can bring some from home, if they are not going to be topped up daily.
The cake selection in the dome, as a welcome hamper was dry and stale,
The kids games were all over the place⊠no not one card game or a full family game, baring in my mind no wifi so what is one to do?
Not one non-stick panđ,
No foil no cling film,
No dish scrubber,
The tv wasnât compatible to use with wifi or Netflix.
No salt or pepper, had to ask
Coffee was old and stale so I bought my own after the 4 pods finished.
The one jug of milk was welcoming.
No baking facilities
So it was back to basic dvds for the 3 nights.
The town was lovely the view was lovely but everything to do in Otley was closed by this time of year or weekend openings only.
Then to top it off the heating stopped working after the first night of our 3 night stay and had to use electric heating.
Lovely few days at this farm cottage hosted by Julie. The cottage is very well equipped and the beds were the most comfortable weâve had at any cottage! The location is beautiful with fantastic views across open countryside and the hot tub fab to come home to. Julie also gave us a tour of the cow and nursery sheds which was interesting and eye opening. Would defo Italy recommend.
The cottage was perfect - it had everything we needed and was in a beautiful peaceful location. Julie was a great host who is very responsive. And the hot tub was a wonderful
I married Nicholas in 1981 and we lived on our other farm at Blubberhouses for 18 years where our son John was born. In 1999 we converted the Old Calf Shed into a granny flat for Nicholas's mother and moved back to Prospect. Mary had lived here since 1932. first with her parents and then her husband and four children. Nicholas, John and myself farm both Prospect Farm which is 200 acres and Hall farm. Blubberhouses which is 320 acres, with the cows here and the young stock and sheep at Blubberhouses. We milk about 150 holstien cows and sell the milk to Arla, I worked after leaving school in a Lingere shop where I qualified as a bra and corsetry fitter and worked for 10 years until leaving to have John, Since then I worked for 17 years for my brother in his butchers shop, and at our local restaurant. In 1989 I started my own catering business which I still do now, providing food for anything from christenings, weddings, funerals, open days, shows where ever food is needed.
The farm has been Nicholas's family home for nearly 90 years. His mother, Mary and her 2 sisters along with her parents moved here after being moved off their farm by the water authority due to the building of a reservoir next to their farm , After her marriage to George in 1945 they stay to farm in partnership, The farm has evolved over the years and the calf shed was converted in 1999 for Mary where she lived happily until 2016, In 2018 we decided to convert the small building opposite, as it was no longer used by the farm business.
we have some of the most stunning views, looking down the Wharfe Valley and onto the Chevin , we can watch the planes coming and going from Leeds Bradford Airport with out the noise. We live in the centre of the 200 acre farm up a private 400 metre lane that is secured by a large electric gate so we are a very safe and enjoy peace and quiet to relax . We are 30 minutes from the centre of Leeds or Bradford, 45 minutes from York or the beautiful dales and very easy access to all the major roads. Whilst you are here why not let us show you round the farm, watch the cows being milked by robots and help feed the calves. Also treat yourselves to afternoon tea served on vintage china enjoy freshly made sandwiches, mini quiches, and homemade scones with jam and cream and a selection of home made cakes , or indulge in homemade chocolates.
