Le chalet est situĂ© dans une partie incroyable de True Scotland. Avec de superbes vues et de belles plages, Islay est devenue une attraction touristique en pleine croissance en Écosse.
Le Islay Whisky Festival est une semaine de musique et de whisky sur Islay - cĂ©lĂšbre pour ses single malts. Le festival d'Islay transforme l'Ăźle avec un programme complet de musique traditionnelle, de dĂ©gustation de whisky, de ceilidh, de cours de gaĂ©lique et de golf. FĂšis Ìle est passĂ©e d'une cĂ©lĂ©bration de la langue et de la culture gaĂ©lique Ă  un festival Ă  part entiĂšre.

David is a great host. Very quick to respond. The cottage is very clean. Internet was fast. Beautiful quiet area. Good to arrive to Coffee & tea and biscuits and milk in the fridge, cleaning products and bin bags all the basics. The central heating was on when I arrived late at night so the cottage was cosy and warm. Plenty of hot water. The kitchen and dining area is very light and spacious with great views of countryside. The cottage is next to a working farm so lots of sheep and cows. I was visiting friends and family ten minutes walk away. You do need to have a car when staying here, there is nothing but beautiful scenery and peace and quiet. Shops and restaurants are not within walking distance. But nothing is too far away and there is never a traffic jam on Islay and always something to see !

The cottage was located on a working farm so always something going on . Unfortunately the weather wasn’t great when we were staying so couldn’t get as much done as we would have liked.

A lovely cottage, carpeted throughout and beautifully equipped. It's on a farm, so the business goes on around the house, but it's remote, secluded and just a few hundred yards from a lovely bay into which the sun sets at this time of year. Our host communicated very well and was always available, making the whole process easy and ensuring our stay was delightful.

This property was on a farm in a stunning location surrounded by great countryside and wildlife. Lovely sandy beaches were within a short drive. All our needs were met in the cottage which was very comfortable and very well equiped. The host was very friendly and helpful as was the rest of the family on the farm. A great place to stay to get away from it all.

Peace and Quiet

As in the title, apart from the occasional bleating of sheep and the calling of wild birds, peace and quiet are what you will find at Kilchiaran Farm Cottage - it’s simply lovely. At the same time it’s well equipped with all the necessities for a self catering stay - cooker, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge/freezer etc, and a good Wi-Fi and mobile phone connection.It’s clean and well decorated with comfortable beds and furniture, and we certainly wanted for nothing in the above respects.But it’s the location that set it apart for us. It lies a few miles from the nearest town, Port Charlotte, along a single track road that continues on round the coast. Close by is Kilchiaran Bay where St Columba is reputed to have come ashore many centuries ago. We walked down to it every day and on only one occasion did we not have it completely to ourselves. After having walked across the shingle at the head of the beach, the waterside is flat and sandy and, apart from the coldness of the sea, is good for paddling or even swimming if you’re hardy enough! Tips for your stay:Stock up on provisions before you get there - the nearest co-op is in Bowmore, which has essentials but is not overly large.Remember your midge repellent - as on all of the west coast of Scotland they can be a nuisance, though we didn’t find them too bothersome while we were there.And finally, don’t forget your camera - it’s a very photogenic place.But most of all, relax and enjoy it.

If Heineken made cottages this would be one. Location, facilities, cleanliness all perfect. David met us at the house to ensure we knew how everything worked with welcome milk and biscuits. I will definitely be back

Unrivalled hospitality

The host could not have been more helpful nor welcoming while the house was extremely well-equipped and thoughtfully appointed in a peaceful, rural location which provided a wonderful retreat. Within walking distance were two beautiful beaches and the equally welcoming Kilchoman distillery ( a stunning 3 mile hike to this from the house).We would happily revisit if possible.

Great quiet getaway

Was met at cottage with a smile and shown around and shown all the rm ,switches,controls etc and dad loved it straight away as he has demntia and normally hates being away... quiet place to chill and relax away from the hussle and bassle of life... there was milk in the fridge which great and even bisciuts to enjoy in our first night there,plenty of rm and a few great nights playing cards and dominoes which took us back years,we have dogs so it was great being away from other dogs :) the island is great been going since i was 5 and i am 51 now so great expoling the surrounding areas as we normally are at port ellen so it was a great change up for us... great place ,great price, defo use again ,thanks for having us :)

Relaxing farm cottage

Great cottage in wonderful location

This is a spacious, well looked after property in a remote and beautiful location. It has a well equipped kitchen, with a nice big fridge! Fabulous views from every window. The perfect place for our birdwatching, walking and exploring holiday.

Beautiful apartment in a wonderful rural setting

We had a great stay in this cozy house. The immediate surroundings are great: rural, but everything is still within easy reach. The host is very friendly and everything is there for a pleasant stay. Greetings to the nice neighbors, as well as to Mac and Frank!

I grew up on the farm and left the island in 1968 to further my education in Oban ,moving on to Rolls Royce to serve my apprenticeship as an engineer returning to Islay to help my ageing father run the farm.
I married a local girl from Port charlotte and over the years we had two of a family . we have now retired to the village now and the cottage is now available for rent so you can enjoy this wonderful place where I was very fortunate to spend most of my life. Now I spend my time restoring old vehicles
