Nice mountain community. Take advantage of the hiking trails. Big Bald Mountain Hike was awesome!

Our Mountain Getaway

We absolutely loved this property! Its got the cozy mountian cabin feel but has good internet! We were able to watch the Olympics during the stormy days (we came while a hurricane was hitting the coast ans the mountains got some rain and wind). Plenty of space for our extended family of 6 to spend a long weekend together and not feel crampped. The kids loved the bedroom with the loft attached. 10/10 would recommended and visit again.

Wolf Laurel A Frame

We loved the property and the area. The host was extremely communicative and accommodating and the place was just as advertised. The fireplace is awesome on those cold nights and there is room enough for everyone. We hiked all day and really enjoyed coming back to this lovely A Frame on top of the mountain!

Perfect Mountain Getaway

First of all, Colin is a fantastic host! He sent detailed check in information to make everything as seamless as possible! He was quick to respond and checked in during our stay. The house is stocked with everything you need to enjoy yourself. The cabin allows easy private access to Big Bald Mountain with BREATHTAKING views. We saw many deer throughout the mornings. Lots of rooms and a well stocked kitchen. I cannot wait to come back and stay again!!

Nice Property Though Not As Advertised

This is a nice, clean and well maintained property...but you need to know what you're getting with it. The listing will make it appear like you get access to the Wolf Laurel amenities: however, the owner does not pay for the amenities. My children and I were asked to leave the pool because we were told that the owners of our rental did not pay for the amenities. We assumed this was available to us since it is advertised in the listing. The listing also advertised queen sized beds. There are no queen size beds, only full. They are comfortable and clean, but if you have a family and children you intend to share a bed, just be aware they are smaller than advertised. Another thing to be aware of if you are bringing children: although there is technically internet, it is not fast enough to reliably stream anything on the smart TV's in the cabin. There are some DVD's there but if you need the television for some quiet down time with the kids, you will not be able to stream anything over the internet connection. If you know all of this going in and don't need to rely on any of these features, this is a wonderful location and well maintained cabin. The setting is beautiful, the fireplace is amazing and the cabin is comfortable.

A+ Customer Service!

We had a comfortable stay at Raven's Roost. Everything was clean and as pictured/described. I want to give a special shout out to Colin's customer service. We came back one day after there had been severe thunderstorms to find that the power was out. I messaged Colin and he got back to me immediately to say he'd look into it. It was a regional outage that got fixed in the meanwhile, but then the wifi didn't come back with it. Colin tried extensively to help us troubleshoot that. Turns out it was also a regional outage, but we greatly appreciated the effort he made. Here are some tips for anyone considering staying here. 1) They are not kidding about needing the 4WD. My husband is a native New Englander so he grew up driving on steep, winding, narrow, unpaved mountain roads, but this truly tested his skills. And this was in August so I can only imagine how it is in the winter. 2) Cell reception is spotty at best. I would recommend taking screenshots ahead of time of directions you need, check in info, etc. I was really glad I did. As long as the cable isn't out, the wifi should be fine. 3) Pick up groceries on the way. The small market nearby is overpriced and the next closest is about a half hour away. 4) I was worried about being too hot because the a/c is just one wall unit on the lowest level and it doesn't travel up at all, but it was consistently 10+ degrees cooler there than it was outside of Wolf Laurel so we were fine. 5) Enjoy your time in a pretty and quiet space!
