Luxury Farm Hideaway on 20 acres - Sleeps 22

Eagleheart Retreat is a luxury homestead overlooking the Mac Donald river and pictresque valley. This large property is the perfect place for entertaining friends and family. There is a large central fireplace and 2 outdoor fire pits to keep you cozy in the cooler months. Each room also has reverse cycle air conditioning. There is a large pool, bbq area and huge entertaining deck. Pick some eggs from the resident chooks, feed the horses and peacocks or take a long stroll down your very own freshwater creek. The property has full nbn wifi for those working remotely. The property is located an easy 90 minute commute from Sydney cbd and is a holiday rental for families and large groups. There is a fully enclosed yard for pets.

The vrbo platform only allows 16 maximum guests, so if you require additional guests please contact us on booking so we can accomodate the extra guests. We can sleep up to 22 people.

There is a very large sofa in the lounge room which can sleep a few extra guests if needed. We have an experienced chef and waitstaff available on request.

The house will be stocked with most cooking utensils and salt, pepper, oil etc. We also provide cereal, milk, tea and coffee. We usually leave out a bottle of wine and a grazing board (where available).

Please note - there are horses that live on site and we cannot have fireworks at the property.

Perfect location and hosts for our small intimate wedding

Chris the host and Brett the property manager went above and beyond to help make our small gathering of friends and family for our (long overdue) wedding, a beautiful and heartfelt weekend with loved ones. Eagle heart is such a special property and we wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Overall stay was amazing

Main house was lovely & serviced our needs entirely. The large balcony provided plenty of space & comfort over looking the property. The kitchen had every thing we needed. The pool was awesome & lots of fun was had. Our only issues was that one of the beds in caravan near shed had broken slats & could not sleep on it & neither vans were air conditoned. Also, we understand the house is tank water but it was discoloured & we would not drink it. Also dryer not working. Apart from these small issues, it did not stop us from having a great time & would love to come back again soneday.

A few issues

We found the sleeping arrangements difficult to navigate for our group of 20 family members. Eight of our guests were sleeping in the 2 cramped caravans and living room sofas and the extremely hot weather made the caravans unbearable. Also 1 bathroom and 1 ensuite (both located inside the house)were not sufficient for that many many people. sufficienthatpeople. t

False Advertising

We have various comments about the property which range from false advertising to an unpleasant house. The house was listed as containing 7 bedrooms, however when we arrived it only held 4. The listing also had two cabins in addition to the house, yet the cabins were non existant and instead, unknowingly to us, replaced with 2 caravans. The caravans were small, faulty, and terrible. The fly screen doors were damaged on arrival and allowed many insects to enter which made it impossible to sleep in. Therefore we did not use the caravans and had to sleep on the couches and in cars in addition to the house's bedrooms. Furthermore, there was an obnoxious smell after the first day and a half which had only worsened until we finally left. We assumed it was due to the drainage pipes which was only reinforced by the property manager. That does not change the terrible stench during the house which made it more difficult to sleep. Additionally, the property was not properly prepared on arrival which included a damaged dryer which meant we could not dry our clothes for 3 rainy days, empty gas cans and a stove that would not function until we called the property manager. The place was also not entirely clean and there were various insects inside the house.Finally, we were charged an additional and surprisingly large fee due to the caravans which were left unused. The property manager was nice and understanding yet the host was difficult to communicate with. We will not come again.

Relaxation and peace

House was a good size, and the large deck was fabulous with a really peaceful outlook. The second kitchen/bar area was a great extra for the family to serve up snacks and drinks away from the food prep kitchen. The pool was great and used constantly by the kids. Lots of spaces to spread out into. Closed yard with large kennel for dogs also, although our pup stayed inside with us which owner was ok with -a very dog friendly property.

Most amazing house!

The photographs simply do not do this place justice. The house is truly beautiful and large so easily accommodated our group. Communication with the property manager was easy and he was extremely considerate of our needs. We didn't get the best weather but it didn't matter since the huge outdoor deck was completely covered. We had a wonderful stay, and loved our birthday celebrations! Thank you so much Chris.

Great family stay

Great place to get away with family and friends. Owner had good communication and assisted us with all our enquiries. The pool was the highlight for the kids. Generous room sizes with aircondition throughout which was essential in the heat. Kids loved seeing the cows in the paddock.

Birthday BBQ

I would like to say a big thank you for my stay at this wonderful property!The house and location was spectacular! They made sure there was enough of the minor things that you may run out of due to the lack of supermarkets/shops in the area which saved us having quite a few people over to enjoy with me.The lay out of the house is perfect for what we wanted it for.The fact that they even gave us a small hamper of food top feed the animals made sure the kids had something interesting and different to do by feeding the animals and also making sure the animals aren’t getting fed something that they shouldn’t be.All in all we will definitely be hiring this house/property again whether it will be through myself or friends. Hopefully get some warmer days so everyone can enjoy the pool besides us brave ones!I hope we also lived up to the expectations of our host and left the place as clean as they would like it to be!Thank you so much for the opportunity.

Beautiful spot

We had a great stay at this property with a large extended family group and our dogs. Loved the huge balcony with beautiful views and the many spaces to hang out. Host very friendly and accomodating.

Lovely weekend stay at beautiful property

We had a wonderful long weekend stay at Chris' property. It's a beautiful, quirky property with gorgeous grounds, and an amazing large verandah overlooking the open spaces and out to the view. Chris is a great communicator, and very helpful and accommodating to our large extended family group plus dogs. Would highly recommend.

Not a luxury experience as advertised.

The property is listed as on 20 acres but you only get a small part of it, the rest of the property is on the other side of the road. Most of this area was covered in cow dung. Cannot have music outdoors as the sound travels in the valley and will get constant complaints from neighbours across the river and reminders from the property manager. BBQ was not cleaned properly so we did not use it. The vacuum cleaner did not have a head, so had to contact the property manager to get another one. No exhaust fans in either bathroom. Got charged extra for a breakage to a bunk bed in a caravan which had a damaged frame to start with. So overall not a pleasant experience.

St Albans great stay

Great property with lots of rooms for friends and families. Bar area was great to sit around and chat, and the deck was amazing. Would love to re-visit in the summer when it’s not so wet.

Perfect place for a weekend!

Stayed with a group of mates for a weekend and it was absolutely perfect. The house was immaculately clean and set for our group. The lead up to was easy and was very kept up to date with all relevant information. Would recommend highly!

Amazing property with fantastic views. The house provided everything needed to have the most enjoyable and relaxing time. We were a group of 18 with so much room for us all. Amazing communication with Chris and would highly recommend anyone to stay here.

Great location, lots of space, multiple activities possible

Trip was great. wonderful location. Lot's of things to do on the property and in the surrounding areas. House has a lot of facilities to keep you occupied. Pool, deck, darts, kitchen, bar. Lot's of beds for lots of guests. I recommend staying here. Owner is nice and good at communication.

A perfect weekend!

Stayed with 18 friends for a catch up after a long time apart. We wanted serenity, quiet, and Australiana and Eagleheart had it all. The drive is a little far from groceries so stocking up is probably the hardest part but once you're there if you're well stocked you'll love the place. Open, beautiful, the host mowed a heart in the grass for our recently married couple. Awesome time. Nobody was game to sleep in the caravan/cabins as no air con in there but fans are provided. 100 percent would go back!

Incredible Stay, Incredible House

We had a group function of about 12 adults. The house was absolutely gorgeous and every person was shell shocked at how truly stunning and well maintained it was. The extra details and decor where so beautiful, and the lovely hosts left so many thoughtful treats. We cannot wait to come back, already planning my next trip. Only 2 hours out of Sydney but you feel like you're a world away, so many spacious bedrooms, so much room for entertaining, and everything was pristine and clean. The hosts where also super accomodating to a few extra little requests we had Thank you Chris
