The Waiting House is a part of Denmark's history. She has a story to tell. This beautiful historic cottage provides a comfortable nook for you to call home during your stay in Denmark. We love the short walk to the centre of town and the cafe blind verandahs that offer spaces to relax. The Waiting House is waiting for you.
Like being welcomed by an old friend. This heritage home away from home is lovely. Denmark is a great base for not only local treats but short drives to Albany, Walpole and Mt Barker. The cottage is beautifully presented with little homely touches for a comfortable stay. Thanks again Aly
Lovely spacious property with a great location within walking distance to shops, restaurants and the river.Communication was good from the owner, all we could have wished for our two day stay in Denmark. Highly recommended.
Perfect location, close to shops etcThe house was a great older house with a story as to its origins. The hosts ensured all we had to do was turn up and stay with beds made and towels for all the guests. Enough firewood to get us through the stay, just perfect.Great communication and checking in was easy. Our two dogs loved it and we made sure we had their travel beds and blankets but the facilities were still there for them. The Tea Book Shop is highly recommended for coffee, the loviest coffee we have had in a long time and the staff were warm and friendly. The Eco tour at Walpole with the Muir family is a must and is only an hour from the house.Really enjoyed our stay and would happily come stay again. Thanks for looking after us Aly
Beautiful building with an interesting history. Great location, short walks to Denmark central, river walk trails. High verandah was a fave spot to drink coffee, looking over the tops of the garden and beyond. Hope to be back in a year or two to enjoy the ongoing improvements to the property Thanks Aly
A great escape from our busy lives. We loved the cottage and its history. Everything we required including the log fire for the chilly evenings. Location was excellent just walking distance to main street. Communication with Aly was great. Our stay was perfect for us.
Our stay in the Heritage Cottage was a charm. We all absolutely loved it, it was presented so beautifully :) The house was spotless, and the atmosphere was very inviting. The owner, Aly, made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. She even left some lights on for us because we arrived late. The instructions were perfect, and the house is very comfortable. Ali is lovely and genuine, and a great communicator. We found out later that the house has a special and beautiful history!!! If you want to know what it is, you must visit :) If you are looking to stay in a beautifully decorated, cosy house right in the heart of Denmark, this is the perfect place.Thank you, Aly, for the weekend stay at your house. Next time we will make sure to say Hi in person :)
Very comfortable and plenty of room for a few days stay while exploring the Denmark area. Cosy lounge and fireplace excellent for winter. Highly recommend.
This was a great break, easy walk to town centre for a coffee in the morning, lunch or a beer in the afternoon.
The house itself is a beautiful representation of a country house with great history and plans for the future.
We enjoyed everything at our foot steps and the country feel we experienced here.
We loved the Waiting Cottage, it had a lovely ambience and was a great venue for some special time for friends who hadn't seen each other for a long time. Aly was very helpful and easy to communicate with too.
Photos do not do this beautiful house justice.
My partner and I stayed and we were so amazed by this house, it has so much character and was so cosy we could have stayed for so much longer. Would be the perfect place to stay in both the colder months sitting by the warmth of the fireplace, or the warmer months enjoying the beautiful large wrap around deck.
Aly the host was extremely easy to communicate with, and greeted us with a bottle of milk for a cup of tea, as we arrived quite late after shops had shut.
The waiting house was in the perfect location within a short walking distance to the centre of town and everything you would need.
Would absolutely recommend and canât wait to come back again.
The property needs to be better maintained. The fridge needs cleaning and the furniture in the lounge is old and damaged. Attention to detail with cleaning would improve the rating. The outside area is overgrown and not well maintained. The bedlinen - pillow cases stained; this is not appealing. The location is good for walking into town and the Wifi connection is sensational, just a shame it is run down.
Information received from property manager very confusing. Hardly answered emails and no phone number.Could not contact Stayz either. Booking very stressful.on arrival no front door key information. After several attempts struggled to open door. No milk as promised and after a long 8 hour trip had to go to shops.
We spent 4 nights in this beautiful home. The home is old with beautifull wrap around verandahs. We had a very comfortable stay waliking distance to town (3mins). The house is well furnished and we had deep sleeps every night. Everything to cook a home meal is avilable if you choose not to eat out. If you like pizza you must checkout Massimo Pizza. Comunication with Aly was excellent. Highly recomended if staying in Denmark.
We feel the property needs a bit of inexpensive attention 1. The toilet door wonât shut 2.The back security door has no catch so not able to open up the house and enjoy a breeze 3.Main bedroom needs another blind so you arenât woken by the light so early
