West Haven - Meredith Lodging

You and your guests will have loads of room to stretch out and relax in this spacious five-bedroom, four-bath home just a block and a half from the beach in Roads End. With its hardwood floors, beamed ceilings, sprawling great room, downstairs game room, open, grassy lawn and lots of cozy spots for quiet conversation, West Haven will delight guests young and old. The ocean-view deck has loads of space, with chairs, a barbecue, and a wind-screened hot tub that lets you soak in the pleasure of warm water and an ocean sunset.

The great room includes floor-to-ceiling ocean-view windows, a gas fireplace with a large stone hearth, ample and comfortable sectional sofas, a large flat-screen TV with Roku TV and streaming and several dining areas so everyone has a seat. A beautiful, fully equipped kitchen makes it easy to serve up delicious meals. There are plenty of beds for all your guests in the five bedrooms and in the game room, with its foosball table, pool table, TV and sofa sleeper. Some of the bedrooms have TVs or sliding doors to the deck.

Your Roads End location puts you a block and a half to the Roads End State Park, with easy beach access and miles of sandy beach. Chinook Winds Casino and convenient shopping and dining are minutes away by car. Gather up the family or your favorite friends and come rejuvenate in Roads End!

We stayed at the West Haven property for 2 nights with our kids & grandkids to celebrate a late Christmas as we had to reschedule due to the Ca fires and Santa Anas early in the year. We were notified the hot tub wasn't working, which I understood. 1. Living room - To the left of the fireplace, there was a monitor with a high pitch beeping noise that continuously beeped the entire time. We attempted to turn it off, but had no luck. The loud & continuous beeping noise in the evening hindered the majority of our family from getting any sleep. 2. Kitchen - a. Keurig - there was no grate on the machine and when it dispensed the coffee, it would spray all over the counter. b. Cabinets - we had to re-screw several cabinets since when we open it, it started coming loose which was a definite hazard. 3. Bedroom closest to the living room - a. There was a giant crack on the wall which enabled cold air to come in and it was so cold even when the furnace was on. b. Comforter/sheets - they definitely were not cleaned prior to the stay which was very disturbing. 4. Upstairs shower - the shower head kept falling off and had to place it back several times as it was hitting our grandkids' heads while they were in the shower5. Staircase to the pool room - The paint was chipping so bad that chunks of paint was coming off which became a hazard to the grandkids.6. Garage play room - The arcade was not working whatsoever.

Nice location, shabby interior. Pics online deceiving

It was "okay". Advertised pool table, but the sticks were all broken. Stove control panel was melted so you could not see controls, several lights out at property, inside and out. Tiny refrigerator with flickering interior lights. Spacious rooms, but shabby foxtures and furnishings. Needs updating and some repairs. Ild peeling wallpaper, etc

Perfect Retreat

Every year, our university ambassador students go on a fall retreat. This year, we stayed at West Haven and it was absolutely perfect for our needs! We chose this house specifically for the long dining table so we could all eat meals together, the proximity to the ocean, and the amenities of being pet-friendly. It was a perfectly cozy weekend retreat for fun & learning. Our host was prompt in her responses and had provided all the information for us well in advance to our arrival, which made our time start with ease.

Wonderful property to stay for a few days

We had a great time with our group of 3 families with kids of all ages. Great location and walkable beach access! Plenty of space for us all to sleep comfortably and the house was well stocked with linens and kitchen items. The house is old but they did a nice job of making it look nice and kept up. I felt like the beds were very clean and comfortable too! Highly recommend

Well loved, beach castle experience.

Wonderful views and walking distance to the beach. This property was great for a family reunion with the separate areas, and multiple bathrooms. The bedrooms were not as shown, so a wait and see is a good approach. It is well used, so don't expect a hotel experience. With that said, it was comfortable to have some children and pets along. We hope to return in the future.

False Advertising

This property was very misleading. Upon arrival the house had an overwhelming mildew sent and no ventilation (we had to go buy candles for the house to help with the smell) We couldn't even use the downstairs and blocked it off from the kids as unsafe. Every part of this house was falling apart except for the deck outside. The ceilings looked like there have been multiple areas of water damage and no repairs on them and some areas looked like they were going to come off. The walls in the bedrooms were falling apart, baseboards were very damaged. Bathrooms were in need of major clean and repair. If you don't plan on being in the house at all on your trip them maybe it's doable but for the price this house goes for a night is a joke. Do yourself a favor and don't stay here or believe the photos. We didn't even stay for the whole time we had rented the house because we couldn't stand it. This property needs some serious upkeep and I don't believe for one second that they're rated almost 5 stars. This was a tremendous waste of money and so disappointing.

Good getaway, but more expensive

I liked the place, the location was on point. We all loved the bath rub and the patio. However, the house is slightly old and so are the amenities. Due to this we felt like the pricing is more than the quality of the house.

Great house for a big get together

We surprised our family last Christmas with a weekend getaway where we could all spend the weekend together. With 13 people and several dogs, we had a difficult time finding a place that would provide everyone with their own bed and space to get away, but this house really fit the bill. With a great central living space with amazing views, a nice deck, and located only a block off the beach (and a mile away from a grocery store), we couldn't have asked for more. The house is older and has some quirks like cabinet doors that wouldn't close and stairs to the second story that were really steep (common in older homes), but we'd gladly stay again. Thanks for having us!
