Vacation in Paradise

Casa Descanza was like paradise the views were beautiful and the property was a hidden gem. I celebrated my mother’s 70th birthday and she had a wonderful time. Elsa (property manager) and Xiomara (house guest) were the BEST they provided us with everything we needed. I look forward to going back!

Hacienda Week

Lovely property, great location, spacious, well appointed. Property manager was very responsive and helpful with lots of things. A few maintenance problems were encountered but the manager jumped on them right away. Overall a very enjoyable week.

Terrific 50 Birthday Celebration

It was a wonderful place to reconnect with our dearest friends. The patio looks out toward a majestic tree with nesting red macaws. It was wonderful to wake up early and listen to various animals beginning their day. The pool was wonderful. But the most wonderful thing about the place is all the kind people who took care of us. The house keeper cooked wonderful breakfasts. Elsa helped coordinate some excursions and massages for nine people with patience and kindness. The driver and tour guides were knowledgeable and also very patient.

Beautiful home with amazing view

This was definitely an upscale accomodation for our family holiday. The concierge (Collin) was amazing and very helpful for all sorts of activities. We had him book excursions and bring in a chef and book some racquet sport stuff for us. All of the peple he arranged were fantastic so you can trust his recommendations. The home is not brand new and has a couple of warts but all in all, it is big, beautiful and as advertised. The house "mum" is wonderful and always willing to accommodate whatever needs you have. Did laundry without being asked and was super pleasant. Security was good and local activities/facilities were fantastic. Would highly recommend Stay in Tamarindo to find you the property that fits your needs best.

Casa Descanza - AMAZING

We could not be happier with our stay at Casa Descanza! We had a group of 12 between family and friends. The home is beautiful and just as advertised. Elsa is amazing and took care of everything, made recommendations, and reservations for anything we needed. Xiomara is incredible! She made over the top breakfasts every morning that you would have had to go to a buffet at a restaurant to have so many choices. Her smoothies are amazing too! She kept the home spotless as well! The pool and patio out back overlook the Hole 1 green, which is a nice bonus. Inside Hacienda Pinilla is great too with access to the JW Marriott and JW Beach Club, which are a short drive in the car or golf cart. We will definitely be back! Thank you, Elsa and Xiomara for ensuring we had such a great trip!

Family vacation

The house was perfect! It was big enough for all of us to have our own rooms (5 main bedrooms plus a small additional room with a single bed). Internet worked really well, which was important for us as some needed to work while we were there. It was so clean and modern. The outdoor living space with the pool was amazing. We were outside so much! If you got too hot, there was A/C in all of the rooms, so you could control the temperature of each room. Plus the outdoor space had blinds and ceiling fans if it got too sunny or hot. We cooked a few nights but enjoyed exploring the fantastic local restaurants (most of which were an 8-10 minute drive). Elsa, our contact at "Stay in Tamarindo" (who rents the house) was amazing. If there were any problems or questions, she responded extremely quickly. She also organized a couple of day trips for us which took the stress away from trying to do the research ourselves. What we didn't realize when we booked the rental was that there is someone there during the days who tidies the house and also cooks the most fabulous breakfasts (we provided the food). Xiomara was the kindest person and an amazing cook. She was truly an amazing person! She was so quiet that we didn't even realize that she was there. This house was amazing as was our experience with Stay In Tamarindo!

Family Vacation

The house and property were amazing and spot on to the pictures! This was our first family vacation with the kids and grandkids and there was plenty of room for all 10 of us. I can’t say enough about this place and the amazing time we had. It was so magical. We had a great view of the golf course and giant red Macaws in the tree on the course. We had a family of monkeys come visit a few times in the trees in the front yard. There is so much to do on the property but some days we didn’t even leave the house it was so relaxing in the back yard by the pool. From the start of booking to the last day of our trip, our concierge Elsa was amazing. She helped us find a chef, photographer and helped navigate travel arrangements in the area and anything else we needed. We could not have done this trip with out her help. Also our housekeeper Xiomara….she was the perfect host. She made us amazing breakfasts and snacks and made sure we were taken care of throughout the day. She was so friendly and attentive to us all. I would definitely go back to this house if we can ever make it back to Costa Rica. The beaches near by were a bit rocky in some areas but still plenty of beachfront to enjoy a swim, boogie board or surf. Hacienda Panilla is quite large so definitely recommend a car or golf cart to get around. We had issues with the golf cart provider (not part of Hacienda Panilla) and our cart kept breaking down but as frustrating as it was we made some memories we will never forget

We had an amazing stay and everything was exactly as described. The home was perfect for our group of eight, with plenty of space for everyone to have their own privacy while still enjoying time together.One of the highlights of our stay was Xiomara, the house mom. She was such a wonderful addition, and her breakfasts were absolutely delicious. Having someone take care of cooking and light cleaning made a huge difference. It allowed us to truly relax and enjoy our vacation without the usual responsibilities that come with sharing a house.We also loved spending time by the pool with family. It was such a fun and memorable part of the trip. The house was well stocked with everything we needed. All we had to do was bring the food.The home is located in a private, gated community, which made it feel very safe and peaceful. It is about a 25-minute drive to downtown Tamarindo, which was easy for us and a nice balance between quiet and access to town.We also can’t say enough about our concierge, Giulia. She was incredible and helped with everything from arranging car rentals to booking excursions and sharing great local recommendations. She even went above and beyond to support us during a stressful situation when we lost a passport, which meant so much to our family.Overall, this was a fantastic experience and we would absolutely stay here again!
