Four of us stayed for a week in July and loved the villa. The views were amazing. The pool and villa were great and due to the heat the Air con was very welcome. Elounda and Plaka were lovely. Had some nice meals out and also ate in the villa.
Compact villa on the hill overlooking the lovely seaside town of Elounda and the Spinalonga peninsula. Great location, easy walk down into town. The return trip up the hill is harder work, but you are rewarded with a lovely pool and incredible views.
Villa is very well equipped (just missing a BBQ, but plenty eating options nearby so not a dealbreaker)
Elounda is a lovely little holiday town, with beaches, shops, bars and restaurants (would recommend Palio Kantouni half way up the hill) and a great base for visiting Spinalonga, and taking fun boat trips from the harbour (we went on a sunset cruise).
Perfect for 4 people. Close to the village and Platka. Gret food and great people. The only problem others might have is driving up the hill and avoiding the cars, motorcycles, obstacles. Parking is very tight, no room for errors. Be aware and be careful!!!!
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Villa Minos! Breathtaking views from every window and gorgeous home. We cooked several nights and the kitchen is well stocked for meals. Great location for exploring Elounda & Plaka as well as many side trips. We took the ferry excursion to Chrissi Island, tour of Knossos, wine tasting, Spinalonga & lots of beach time. Andrew was very prompt with all of his communication. Highly recommend this as your home base in Elounda.
We had a fabulous holiday at Villa Minos. Views from all windows, doors, terraces, balconies and pool absolutely stunning and villa beautiful and immaculately clean. Villa is very well kitted out and everything we needed was available. Rose the property manager was very helpful and gave us advice about local restaurants.
We had a car and this was an excellent base to visit the eastern end of Crete. Also visited Minoan palace at Malia, drove up into the mountains to Lasithi and visited the classical site of Lato. There is so much to see and do on Crete.
Would highly recommend this lovely villa.
This property is exactly as advertised. Lovely cool, shiny, clean entrance, kitchen with everything you need, a comfy lounge area and 2 large bedrooms with a bathroom each! Both with balconys too!
Then there's the pool! It was cleaned twice during our stay. Beautiful views over Elounda with plenty of room around the pool for dining, sunbathing and just pure relaxation.
A couple of beautiful walks down to Elounda town, with Tavernas en-route! Always a bonus!
Overall, a fantastic stay. Thanks Andrew and Rose. We will definitely be back!

The property is one of 4 similar properties which are situated right next to the others and overlook each other. They are at a top of a hill with very steep, narrow tiled roads. So beware.
Once at the property there are beautiful views of the sea and of the sea front in Elounda. The walk downhill to Elounda is pleasant and takes about 15mins( the walk back is uphill and takes a bit longer). There are two fantastic places just a two minute walk down the first steep hill from the property. They are hidden gems! Beeraki does excellent cocktails and has a fantastic view of the sea. Next door, The Hope does delicious Cretan food freshly prepare and served with a smile.i recommend the courgettes balls.
We have just spent a lovely relaxing week in this villa. The villa is nice, exceptionally clean and the pool was wonderful especially as the weather was so hot. On the minus side, I do feel it should have been made very clear how steep the hill is up to the villa. I first realised it might be an issue when we were given written directions and told we had to get into first gear driving up the hill! One needs to drive like Louis Hamilton to get up there, I have spent a lot of time in San Francisco and this hill reminded me of the city - but there are no steps making it almost impossible to walk up and down. There is no strolling into town for coffee from here!! In the description it says there is TV with many channels - there isnât itâs just a screen with a dvd player. We were also told we would have a mid week clean this never materialised. So Iâd say a villa with pros and cons!
Great little villa. Terrace and pool are excellent - with sunny spots and shady spots, and views to the sea are from everywhere.
Villa is very new and so in excellent condition, together with TV and DVD (plays english DVDs) and aircon for the two bedrooms.
Management is very good - the owner is quick to respond to requests, and the housekeeper, Rose, meets you at the site etc.
Loads of choice for tavernas etc nearby.
If you are staying for a week and don't want to explore too far, then best value is a taxi from the airport (owner can recommend a good value firm) - as you can easily walk to local facilities. If staying for two weeks, and more likely to explore further , then better off getting a hire car.
Whilst the particulars say that you are in a village next to Elounda, if you hand't been told this you would just assume that you are on the outskirts of Elounda. Its no more than a 10-15 minute stroll along the seafront to get to the centre of town.
All in all - excellent. And would certainly book again.
We had a wonderful holiday staying at Villa Minos!
The villa itself is beautiful. All of the rooms are spacious, modern and immaculately clean. The kitchen is well stocked, the pool is a great size and clean and the gardens are pretty and well kept. Wifi is very good as is the air conditioning too.The views from the gardens, pool area and both bedroom balconies are beautiful - absolutely picture perfect.
You'll see the steep hill mentioned to reach the villa, the last short road is steep but we walked to and from town everyday, though less abled walkers may struggle in which case it is drivable with parking space directly in front of the villa. We walked through the village and olive groves instead, a gentler and less hilly walk before the last incline, though the villa and views are well worth it!
We found the villa in a quiet and safe village area, the residents we passed were happy and welcoming, greeting us everyday and there are good tavernas close by too. The walk to the main town is 10 -15 minutes and the town and beach are beautiful with a great choice of restaurants and shops.
Andrew's correspondence was fast and excellent, booking was smooth and easy and the villa details and local details were clear and helpful.
Rose met us at the villa and is lovely, knowledgeable about the area and keeps the villa well stocked and immaculately clean.
We have no hesitation recommending the Villa and hope to be back soon, enjoy!
Villa Minos was perfect. I travelled with my wife and 15 year old daughter. We flew to Heraklion and hired a car to drive to the villa. Even with a few hours delay, Rose (property manager) was really helpful and accommodating and met us at the property.
The villa was lovely and I don't think the photo's do it justice. It's modern, clean, a good size for 4 people. The bedrooms and downstairs had effective and much needed air conditioning, The pool area, sunbeds and seating areas provided lots of outdoor eating/drinking space. The views from the pool terrace were amazing - perfect to watch the day go by and sun go down behind the villa - the colours on the mountains in the distance were photographed almost every evening.
The kitchen has all the mod-cons including dishwasher and washing machine.
The villa is in Mavrikiano. Near to the villa (less than 5 minutes walk) were 2 tavernas and a Cretan Pub - all with beautiful views over Elounda bay. I'm not going to lie, Mavrikiano is on a very steep hill but this shouldn't put anyone off.
We went into Elounda several times which was a 10-15 minute walk down the hill. There are so many bars/restaurants and shops down there - everything you need.
The beach in Elounda was nice - and 2 sunbeds & parasol were a reasonable 8 euros for the day.
I would highly recommend Villa Minos and this area of Crete. A lovely relaxing, chilled holiday! Thank you!
The property is nestled on the peak of a hillside overlooking sea and village views. The house is very comfortable and well suited for a visitorâs stay. The view is spectacular from the pool, deck, and lower patio. The people of elounda and the surrounding area offer heartwarming hospitality. Rose, the property manager and the guests direct support, is ever so helpful. The beach below is right in town and both are about a half mile walk. Please note that the road up the final segment to the villa is steep. Some may be daunted to drive it but it is manageable!
The villa was great, loved the pool and views, and a couple of tavernas minutes from the front door. We were greeted by Rose who was really helpful and gave us lots of useful tips.
I canât say enough about this villa. The views were amazing. The pool was perfect for my 2 daughters 5 and 9. The villa is close to tow and even closer to 2 wonderful restaurants. We will definitely be back to Villa Minos. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home.
Beautiful Villa with elevated sea views over the bay & further over to Elounda.
Only a 10/15 minute (downhill) walk into the centre of Elounda through olive groves
& along the way there are 2 bars - should you need refreshments, incidentally both bars share the same magnificent views as the Villa.
Whatâs not to like!
I thought the location of the property was good, a short walk into town with its restaurants, bars and shops. However, the town of Elounda was a bit disappointing and not as charming as many others in Greece. The property itself was good, if a little basic inside - however the pool and views were excellent. The manager, Rose, was very helpful and charming.
The villa was everything and more. Spacious accommodation with all appliances. The pool area and views were fabulous .
Would definitely recommend and return for another stay
