Heritage Home right in the heart of Nelson with modern furnishings and new kitchen. Walking distance to historic Baker Street. A blend of Mid Century Modern and Farmhouse decor, local art and a spacious & private yard and deck. Guests enjoy living like a local with the entire home to themselves.

Our home was the first on the block, a 100 year old Heritage home that has been cared for and re-loved over the years. We have styled it minimalist to give you a sense of peace and calm during your stay. We have furnished our home with quality mid-century furnishings and eclectic art from local artists and our travels abroad. You will have the entire home for your group. Our kitchen is brand new and fully stocked with all the amenities you will need to cook your own meals at home. Linens and towels are provided. We have Wi-Fi and a Smart TV (apple box) for connecting to your Netflix and iTunes account or any other subscription accounts you have.

*Dog friends allowed upon approval $30/stay/dog
*No Parties or unregistered guests
*Please note there is NO microwave, but there is a full oven/stove/ counter top mini oven for heating small items and a gas BBQ.

Home away from home

Margot’s house is beautiful, large, comfortable, clean, and well-situated. It’s a terrific place from which to experience Nelson and the surrounding areas.

Summer road trip

Our three night stay was fantastic, the property has an amazing patio to watch the sunset. The house was spacious and relaxing which was perfect after being on the road for multiple days. Definitely would come back again if we're back in the area.

Great stay

We had a great stay at this house. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed (although a microwave would be nice). It is pretty far uphill and so I would not say it is walking distance to town. Wonderful town and jumping off point for exploring the area. Would stay again!

Beautiful, well maintained home! Spacious backyard with lots of shade on sunny days. Margot was an exceptional host who was very accommodating to our special requests. We had a wonderful holiday and would definitely rent this property again.

Awesome house

The house was perfect for a vacation with family. Clean and comfortable. Great location lots of things to do in and out of the house. The owner even had a little care package upon arrival. We would love to stay again on our next time to Nelson.

This is a welcoming and comfortable old house with plenty of space inside and out. Perfect yard to exercise our dog and enjoy the deck just off the kitchen. Very quiet neighborhood.

Beautiful stay in Nelson

Charming, comfortable home is a great location. Walkable to Baker Street and close to mountain biking trails. Note that the yard is not fully fenced, if you bring your pooch. All bedrooms and full bath is upstairs, and the washer/dryer is down a steep set of stairs in the basement (in case stairs are an issue for folks). We would definitely stay here again. It’s a lovely home in the beautiful little town of Nelson.

Quintessential Nelson

Beautifully maintained and restored Nelson Victorian. Incredibly well stocked, comfortable, house in desirable location. Great back patio shaded by ancient English Walnut tree. Great gardens with wonderful rock work. Nice walk downtown, shorter walk to local coffee shop. Margot was always ready with help. We’ll definitely stay here again.

Prettiest house in town!

We throughly enjoyed our stay in this house. It was beautiful inside and out. The kitchen was stocked with all of the utensils I needed to cook, and the appliances were high quality. We enjoyed the ping pong table and yoga room. The walk was straight down the hill to town and even in line with the convenient stairs, as it’s a steep hill, which makes Nelson so unique to us. The house may have been one of the nicest in the neighborhood. The beds were firm, but very comfortable. We all slept great! There were a collection of family games we played each night. I should add, it’s a very old house with a steep staircase to the laundry room and a claw foot tub to shower, so beware if you are not very agile. We love Nelson and this house and look forward to returning soon!

Fantastic!

Where to start? Nelson is glorious and Margot’s property was the icing on the cake. Her house is so beautiful you are definitely going to want to plan some time just to hang there whether it’s patio season or not. We cooked a few meals there and opted for takeout just to enjoy the patio. We watched the sunset every night from the deck. The yard is HUGE; plan on hanging out while watching your pooch run around. (Margot does warn that the yard isn’t completely fenced in so don’t leave your dog unattended. Our escape artist found every minuscule opening). It’s really close to downtown and Baker Street; but be warned it’s an uphill walk on the way home (so take a soak in the clawfoot tub or a stretch in the yoga room!) Margot has a huge list of recommendations from food to activities to shopping. Since this isn’t a review about Nelson I won’t go into detail but just know that we hit about 70% of what she recommended and would have finished the list if we had time. I will mention a fun day trip we enjoyed up to Zaslo “The Switzerland of Canada” for poutine, soft serve, and the most picturesque backdrop to enjoy it. I highly recommend staying at Margot’s place for your Nelson adventure. Every nook and cranny has thought put into it and she was super responsive throughout our stay. Thank you so much for making our trip extra special!

Family escape from the Boler

We really enjoyed our stay in Nelson. A big part of it was the comfort and amenities provided with Margot's home. It was spacious and clean. Beautifully furnished and decorated but still family friendly. Thank you again.

Beautiful Nelson

Lovely heritage home in quiet neighbourhood. Close to rail trail and walking distance to restaurants and shops. Home is nicely furnished and very well stocked with everything you could need. Great outdoor space too. Garden is perfect for kids. Very quick response from owner about any queries. Super helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful heritage home

We had family coming together from 3 different provinces for our stay in Nelson and this beautiful home was the perfect spot to meet up. We enjoyed the outdoor space a lot, with the ping pong table getting lots of use, relaxing on the huge patio while reading a book in the shade, and BBQ-ing while our dog played in the grass. The host was great and always available for any questions we had. All in all we would reccommend this home to everyone :)

Margot’s home exceeded our expectations. The pictures don’t do it justice. The home is very comfortable and beautifully appointed. With three floors the main living floor stays temperate even on the hottest days of summer. The proximity to town was also very convenient. We hope to be back.

Golf holiday

Very much enjoyed our stay. Instructions were clear, the home was clean and furnishings comfortable. As we spent our in house time playing games at the dining table brighter lighting would be helpful. We are 60 plus and eyes not what they used to be! Due to Covid, we ate all our meals in. Some kitchen additions might be a spatula and serving spoons. What we very much appreciated was the flexibility of Margot and her husband to change our booking dates due to weather conditions. They did not hesitate to accommodate us. We would recommend their property to others.

We invite you to enjoy our family home. We believe that if you love Nelson you will love our home. We have carefully curated all that you will need to enjoy your stay in Nelson. The house is a solid built Heritage house from 1920, but inside we have worked meticulously to upgrade it with a new kitchen, yoga space, office space, exceptional front and back entries and modern farmhouse/midcentury modern furnishings. We have a huge private yard with plenty of sun or shade. A large outdoor deck with a gas BBQ and ping pong. Our personal things are completely put away so you will feel comfortable staying and feeling right at home. Our intention is that you feel relaxed and comfortable and want to return again to enjoy all the amazing wonderful things about Nelson and the surrounding area all 4 seasons!
