The Point-a jewel of Negril for couples or a small family.
Point Village has it all and then some! This gated community of owners and renters wake up to cheery bird calls and the intense heat of the sun. Everyone can enjoy level walking paths among lush, manicured tropical landscaping, the vastness of the ocean all around and cool off in the pool, the sea or a rainy downpour. Spend your day on the property doing beach activities like swimming, snorkeling, volleyball, tide pooling, yoga or head out on an adventure. The exciting city of Negril is a short taxi ride away ready to serve up its world famous bars and restaurants, water sports, shopping, golf and nightlife. Go out even further for an all day trip to YS Falls, Appleton Rum Factory or the caves at Rolling River then return to a different sunset every night and maybe even the full moon over the palm trees!

We loved the property and there was no shortage of space to roam. Loved the beach area and the access to snorkeling was top notch. A must is to explore the caves where you snorkel. We rented a glass bottom kayak at the property and spent the day at Booby Cay, amazing grilled lobster. We loved our stay, thank you!
Overall the unit met our needs. A/C worked well in both living and bedroom. Linens provided were good. Kitchen could be better. Cupboard organization was lacking and a bit of a hodgepodge of items. A strainer would be helpful. Cleanliness of unit was a bit lacking. Unit advertised with a washing machine and dryer, however the washing machine was not plumbed in or placed for use. It had been pulled out of its place and faced the wall so not operable There were no drawers to put your clothes as the dresser in the living room was full of a variety of items. Safe in the unit was not accessible. The unit has little outside space however the bistro set inside the unit was handy to use outside the entrance. Wifi worked well. This unit is right beside the tennis courts so you will be woken early to the thwack of tennis/pickle balls. A hair dryer would also be helpful.
Susan and Patrick been a couple since the 1980's when we met outside of Hedonism. It was a "love at first sight' story and after 34 years of ups and downs, we're still together enjoying the Jamaican life! We are the couple striving to make Point Village more wheelchair accessible. Our apartment has a ramp into it and the bathroom is constructed for a person who cannot walk to use it. The neatly sized furniture was chosen for style but also to allow a wheelchair bound person to move freely around each room. We even raised the veranda floor levels to make them accessible too! The level walking paths on the ocean side allow people with mobility issues to enjoy the best part of the grounds and see every changing sunset. You don't have to be mobility challenged to enjoy the cozy, love nest, but it may explain why we made the choices we did.
Before it was a hotel and eventually condominiums, the property of the Point Village used to be overgrown bushland owned and maintained by the Urban Development Council. My husband (when he was a child) and his father used to graze their cows there and helped maintain it and the Booby Cay island across the way for tourists to have a lobster and rum punch luncheon there with local guides. People often try to brag about how long they have lived there, but we can always top them with our family's history.
The east side apartments stay cool until noon with all the shade trees surrounding them. #85 has three sides of gardening space and the back veranda looks out to majestic rows of towering palm trees. We border the all inclusive Royalton Hotel side and we hear their play list during the day of mostly African American R & B and Reggae artists. The ocean surrounds the point and the swimming is amazing!. If you are a good swimmer, go around the rock wall to see fish and if you are an advanced swimmer, you can circle the island and see the wide variety of sea life the reef has to offer. The property also has security all around it and it's a haven from the hustle and bustle of the beach scene in Negril. Want to get away?!?! Stay at Point Village!
