I was sure the listing description was too good to be true. So I was more than pleasantly surprised to find that the Venetian Palace was everything the listing described and more. The manager, Eleftheria and her husband Spiro, were so kind and responsive to even the silliest questions. My husband and I came with our two adult children and their spouses. We each had our own room and full bathroom (one of the âroomsâ is actually a loft but my daughter and son-in-law loved it). A fully stocked kitchen had a full size frig/freezer, microwave, coffee maker and WASHING MACHINE!! There was a drying rack on the rooftop terrace where our clothes dried in a matter of hours in the sun. The best thing is the location in the old town. We could walk everywhere and only used our rental car to drive to other areas in Crete. Beware if you have a car, that there are NO cars in old town, so you need to find parking either on the streets on the edge of old town or in a lot. We had no trouble since the middle of September was not too busy with tourists. We were here for 5 days and a cleaning lady came on the 3rd day to refresh everything. We are already looking forward to returning to Crete and staying at the Venetian Palace in Chania for a longer stay. Thank you again to Eleftheria and Spiros!!
We were 6 adults (4 seniors) who spent 4 days here in early October 2018. While the upstairs "bedroom" isn't fully private, it worked well for us and all 6 adults never felt crowded or lacking for privacy. The location is phenomenal, with an easy walk to shops and the Venetian Harbor. The unit is well furnished, though a toaster would have been welcome (hint hint). Chania is a magical City, and you can explore it well from this home. Parking in the pedestrian area is very limited, but if you don't mid a few block walk once you drop off or pick up your luggage, the Venetian Palave will serve you very well. Rick Dudek
A lovely property and a great helpful manager we were made to feel very welcome . This is the best location for restaurants, a really good bar/ night club just around the corner called the monastery, but despite being so close to life it was a quiet retreat. We would definatly return
This property was built around 1800, it combines the Cretan culture with the Ottoman and Venetian style in order to immerse the guest into the culture and history of Crete and is located near all places of interest in Chania, beginning with the Old Town which it is characterized by narrow and picturesque alleys. The Egyptian Lighthouse, the Fortress of Firka, the Mosque of Kioutsouk Hasan, the Great Arsenali and the Neoria have become landmarks of the city and are only a short walk away, the beautiful beach of Nea Chora where you can go swimming is only 5 minutes walking away from the property, and also many of the Chaniaâs monuments and museums, there is also a very good Alpine club which organizes excursions to the mountains, near the house there are public bikes which can take you around the city, that means we are located in the heart of everything.
We are located near all places of interest in Chania, beginning with the Old Town which it is characterized by narrow and picturesque alleys - similar to an enchanting labyrinth - full of life, and the plentiful remaining Venetian and Turkish buildings. We offer 2 spacious suites and a studio room, a fully equipped kitchen, dining and living room, 3 privated bathrooms and a rooftop terrace. Breakfast at Giner Restaurant included.
