Had a really good break at Yet Farm cottage.
Had a really good break at Yet Farm cottage. Very traditional and absolutely no lack of equipment in the cottage. Very good wifi in the cottage and I was able to use my NowTV stick to pick up Sky Sports etc. Unfortunately no O2 coverage. Large grassy field next to the cottage for the dog to have a run off-lead. Great location - within easy walking distance to two dog friendly pubs. Not too far from Poppit Sands either.
Lovely cottage in beautiful location
We had a lovely stay in 'Yet Cottage' during October this year. The cottage was one of the best equipped we've ever stayed in with an enormous inglenook fireplace in the main room with a wood burning stove that was most welcome. All the rooms were tastefully furnished and the bed was very comfortable - always an important factor! A gate leads into the large grounds where we could take our dog for short walks which was very convenient both for us and for the dog!
There was a generous 'welcome pack' waiting for us which included home-made marmalade and farm eggs. The owners were very helpful and available, but not intrusive.
Although the weather was changeable and unsettled, we managed to get out most days. The cottage is close to the Preseli Hills which provide wonderful walking with amazing views and the cottage is not far from the spectacular coastline.
Cenarth has a useful Nisa supermarket at the local garage and there are pubs and tea shops withing easy walking distance (a bigger Tesco supermarket is within short driving distance at nearby Carmarthen). The beautiful River Teifi runs through the village and is home to trout and salmon.
All in all, a very comfortable homely base for a holiday in the area!
Where do I start.
Where do I start..... the cottage is delightful and cosy, spotlessly clean, fully equipped with everything you could wish for kitchen wise, games, jigsaws, books, a small hamper to get you started and all set in acres of grounds to explore. Wynn and Sophie (the owners) are the loveliest couple, always available, but never intrusive. The village is 2 minutes walk away, 2 decent pubs, couple of gift shops, couple of tea rooms and walks to die for straight from the front door. It's a great central base to explore all of West Wales, Tenby to the South an hour away, Aberystwyth (Steam train to Devils bridge) an hour to the North and lots of villages / seaside towns in between (do not miss Aberaeron). We loved everything about it and will definitely return.
We stayed at Yet Cottage for 2 weeks.
We stayed at Yet Cottage for 2 weeks. The cottage was perfect for exploring the area. Sophie and Wyn, the owners live next door and were great. They have thought of everything to help make a good break. Our dog had the freedom of the fields to run in as well. Thanks.
Cenarth is a beautiful part of the country.
Cenarth is a beautiful part of the country. The village is lovely to explore at a slow pace. Time seems to go more slowly here! It's an oft-used phrase but this really is a hidden gem. The cottages at Yet Farm are beautifully furnished, with the little details taken care of, from gorgeous soaps and hand creams to a shower cap for those of us fussy about our hair!
The west coast of Wales have some of the most stunning beaches I have ever seen. Who needs the Med?! Certainly not our cocker pup Lottie! This was her first experience of the sea and she loved it - a natural!
Sophie and Wyn (the owners of Yet Farm) are the most warm and friendly hosts I have ever met. There was always time for a chat and a catch up on our plans for the day. They are so lovely.
We will most definitely return and would recommend Yet Farm to anyone who will listen!
