Stayed for a week and was blown away by the beauty of the setting. The cottage was lovely, well equipped and great exercise for toning the leg muscles!
The owners were lovely, very helpful, informative and my children loved the little extras that they provided them with for the games room.
My children are like pond skaters and really enjoyed the boats on the river, we all did.

Had a brilliant weekend at the Old Mill the owner was there to greet you she showed us around the property and explained everything, the weir was amazing as we had had rain and was in full force. The younger members used the games room. Very quiet had a relaxing weekend.

I have previously stayed close to this area, and always wanted to try a week at The Old Mill, and it did not disappoint. I took my mother, father, son and his friend with me on this occasion. Initially we made the mistake of entering the owners property, and not the cottage property. When we realised our faux pas we found the entrance to the cottage. Be prepared for some steep driving on some very narrow lanes, but this is what makes The Old Mill great, as it is a secluded area. The grounds are magnificent, well tended and exceptional, with a play area for younger children and a games room that has pool and table tennis. There is also a canoe and kayak in which to use on the small river that runs alongside the cottage. My son made a regular morning jaunt up and down the river in the canoe before breakfast.
The cottage itself is beautiful and feels really homely as soon as you walk in. There is a large oak dining table where there is a gnome sneakily carved into it by the person who made the furniture. You have to realise that The Old Mill is a historical property, and as such the stairs are steep. My parents (who are in their mid seventies) were able to manage the first set of stairs, so they had the en suite room on the first floor, where I took the double bedroom on the second floor, and the two lads had the remaining bedroom. The welcome we got from the owner was very warm and very welcoming, and she explained everything about the property to us in a precise way. She was also great with the two lads and took them to the games room, canoe and kayaks, and explained the rules about using them. A very nice lady. We also had a welcome pack of biscuits and cakes waiting for us, and towels and slippers were provided in the bedrooms.
Non of my party could find anything to complain about as The Old Mill exceeded our expectations. We particularly enjoyed the peace and seclusion of the property.
