IMPORTANT NOTES 1. Heating and Electricity: This is an extra charge which is mostly payable to the Property Manager/Owner. In some cases, energy is charged at a fixed daily rate or a rate per unit on the units consumed or you are required to top up a Pre-Paid Meter while in others, energy charges are included in the rate you have paid. We advise you to check with the local Owner/ Property Manager prior to arrival how this is calculated or prior to making the booking.
2. Security Deposit: A minimum refundable security deposit of âŹ200 (per property) must be paid prior to check-in to your holiday home to the local Property Manager/ Owner. This is either taken over the phone by pre-authorising your credit card when you call the Property Manager to arrange your arrival time 48 hours in advance of arrival or at others it is taken on arrival. In some locations and at certain times of year this can increase to âŹ500 per property.
3. Towels: Towel sets are available upon request at a small charge. Please contact our Call Centre or the Property Manager to arrange (you will find the Property Manager's contact details at the Arrival Info document sent to you in the final payment confirmation).
Good location. 3 big bedrooms with en-suite . Good facilities and clean
Curtains in the bedroom are extremely light, not lined and no blinds so impossible to have a lie in. Rooms get bright very early. Hot water in upstairs showers and kitchen not working so a plumber had to come out. No hot water on our first morning so had to contact management. I would have expected these to be working on arrival and we had no hot water the next morning as he couldnât come until the following day
We have just had the most fantastic week back home in Ireland visiting family and friends and the Galway Bay Holiday Lodge was the most perfect base to do it from. All ensuite bedrooms. Fantastic size master and the downstairs bedroom perfect for those slightly older or less able to do stairs but still large and also has its own bath and shower. The living space is great for large families with a dining table not only in the fully equipped kitchen but also in the amazingly sized living/dining room. I have to say there was a small issue but the property manager who returns calls and texts all hours of the day and night had it rectified as quickly as was humanly possible over a weekend but nothing stopped us having an amazing time and weâre all ready looking at dates for next year.
House was large, comfortable & in a very nice neighborhood. A little frustrating that heat & hot water were difficult to control. The one time we called the local host, Diedre, with questions, she was very responsive to our immediate needs, but heat & hot water continued to be unreliable
We woke one morning with no hot water. Our son found the water heater and turned it on and gradually we had hot water. Other than that we had a pleasant stay.
We stayed for three nights in this lovely home. The unfortunate part of this stay is that we barely had any hot water while we were there. We had to take cold showers based on the way the heating system worked. We shower in the evening and could get a warm show to save our lives. It made it tough at the end of a long day. Also, for the price And in todayâs times, there should be WiFi access even if it is a paid amenity. It becomes difficult to plan your stay with no access to Wi-Fi.
My reviews on this property (Galway Bay Resort, as it is listed on VRBO, not "Goway") are mixed. The house is clean and comfortable, and located in a safe area.
What we found frustrating about our experience with the property management company (Trident) was the difficulty communicating with them. We were required to call the property manager 24-48 hours to get instructions for obtaining the keys: she never answered her phone and I had to resort to emailing the company directly, who tracked her down and had her call me. I messaged her a couple of times during our stay (we had problems unlocking the doors and windows upstairs and consequently those bedrooms were extremely hot and stuffy), but she never responded.
The other thing that left a very bad taste in my mouth was the manner in which the property "nickel and dimed" us... I don't expect a VRBO to provide basic supplies, but compared to other places Galway Bay Resort was very poor: there was not a single roll of toilet paper (maybe leave just one?) 1 thin pillow per bed, 1 small towel per guest, no coffee maker, and (read the fine print before you book...) no wifi???
Even though it was clean, we wouldn't recommend or return to Galway Bay Resort.
Beautiful stay, Can recommend to families and friends stay. AA++
We were really pleased to stay in this accommodation and really can recommend it to friends and anyone who loves to travel with friends and family.
Thank you
Electricity coasts
The property listed on VRBO had wrong information listed. There is a third party management company adding another layer of communications to deal with.
Our stay was paid for in advance but before we could get the entrance code, I had to give an agent my credit card number over the phone to an individual agent so that I could be charged for electricity. This is an UNSAFE AND DANGEROUS business practice.
We were not told there was no wifi available until after we checked in. DEAL BREAKER.
Tho generally clean, there were no amenities that I have come to enjoy over the years from VRBO. No coffee or tea, no hand towels or bath mats in bathrooms (unsafe on tiles ), cold water in upstairs sink not working, water standing in the washing machine. Not even an extra roll of toilet paper in the bathrooms.
It was the most expensive property we rented. Wished I had stayed at a hotel. I will NOT recommend this property to family or clients.
VRBO not up to the warm welcoming standards I've come to expect over the years.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - so overall very good. However in this day and age the house would benefit from WiFi. The shower was very poor and there was never enough hot water for 6 people. Basic essential were available - but no extras such as a coffee cafetiĂšre or egg cups. No welcome pack as promised - towels were extra and only one per person provided at extra cost. No outside furniture or a BBQ which was a shame as the weather was fabulous. We wouldnât return to this house - as we like a few more home comforts but it was adequate for our stay.
Not a lot to dislike bar one issue re electricity not included in price
Make sure the bins outside property are empty, or at least, have some room.
Electric bill on departure would make me reluctant to rebook.
The house is located in a small village called Renville. It is very quiet there and you can relax very well. There is a circular path around the village and you can walk to the ocean. The house has 6 beds and three bathrooms. It is easy to get to Galway and Oranmore has everything you need.
