Great, great stay. Villa was spotless and perfect for a vacation on the beautiful Silver Coast .
Everything was perfect. I highly recommend this villa for all groups large or small.
There is everything you need and it is spotless.
The owners have done an incredible job and everyone in our big family group had a great time.
My unbiased opinion is the property sells itself short!
It is bigger and better in real life than the images show.
Our children x 4 live all around the world and we booked this place as a quiet time to come together and re connect as a family. The dimensions of the property allow everyone their own space so the group doesnât get on top of each other and there is everything included that you could possibly need. The pool is un heated but refreshing to cool down in itâs a good size but I must stress we had it literally all to ourselves for the holiday, there is the potential for another 16 people to be around as the pool is in the middle of x4 villas.
The village eateries and shops are literally 3minutes away and are first class and very reasonably priced.if you are a lover of seafood then you will be in heaven here . Itâs a 10 minute stroll to the massive beach and the bars and restaurants. At the time we went there was several very well organised music events on the beach all free.
One of the highlights of the trip was we booked x 3 buggies and a ATV quad bike trip at the Beaya adventure centre situated on the beachfront road you canât miss it. It was an on and off- road trip family too see the spectacular Sunset front various headland points the crew who run this are amazing and the leader will take the group up to the level of competence so it certainly isnât boring if thatâs what you like!
We wouldnât hesitate to book again
Many thanks
The property itself is lovely, first impressions where of a very bright, spotlessly clean and well laid out villa. There were 4 adults and five kids in our party but it always felt like there was plenty of space. The pool area is great and also a good size, 4 houses share it but we found it rare that 2 houses were using it at the same time, and even then the kids would be playing together with kids from another house.
It can be windy at the pool but it was always warm enough on our trip, that the wind was welcome. There were some evenings when we sat out till 8pm comfortably. The house was never too warm as all the sliding doors on the top floor allow a great breeze. Some people have commented about the loud dog barking, and indeed this is the case. We wanted to leave the doors open at night for a breeze but the dogs would wake you up. We discovered that if we switched on the portable fans (there are several in the house) in the upstairs bedrooms at night, left the doors ajar and shut the shutters but only enough that a breeze can blow through them, it obscured the barking completely. Job done and a peaceful nights sleep.
The kids enjoyed the playroom, the selection of DVDs, games and books were great, and the kitchen was as well equipped as we have ever found on a holiday. We did not use the outside BBQ as we ate out most nights.
The village is an 8 minute walk and has a few small local shops, where you can find almost everything you might need. We did our bigger shops in Caldas da Rainha (10 Minute Drive) were the Continente and Leclerc supermarkets have everything you will need. This town is also worth a day exploring the town centre and the beautiful Parque Dom Carlos 1 which has a great restaurant, cafes, tennis courts and playground, and easy parking. There are also a few good restaurants in the village, the best value being the Central Bar and the best food was in another (I don't remember the name) place on a corner, just 100m up from the Tavola restaurant bar. We also ate down at the the beach at the Cais da Praia and Restaurante Europa, both excellent. The last bar on the beach strip, right at the roundabout at the end of the promenade, was great for an evening drink. The sunsets are magnificent here.
The beach was fantastic, very calm (in the lagoon side) although very salty, and strong currents at certain times of day. I would not recommend air beds or toys as some kids we had to help got into trouble with the current.
Spacious villa which is very well equipped. Lots of room for the five of us. Nice private garden with good BBQ and area to dry clothes. Good access to the pool from the large doors in the living room. No problem sharing the pool with the other properties.
Great location in Foz - for the first time we didnât have a car but we could walk to the lagoa, the beach, local restaurants and the surf school. The Trombone cocktail/gin bar was a favourite as was the ice cream parlour up the hill. We rediscovered favourite places and found new. We also discovered the bus into Caldas and used the train network to travel further.
A great holiday and thoroughly recommend the Villa.
We could not fault the villa. It had everything you could want for a comfortable stay for 2 weeks. Our hosts were helpful in the lead up to our stay and all the accommodation was very good and roomy. The pool is shared which we knew beforehand. The neighbours had young children and our families are in their twenties so not the best combination. However, a lovely pool and garden area with BBQ . Local restaurants were excellent and within walking distance. The white sandy beach is lovely and about 20 minutes walk or 5 minutes in the car. Take care as the current is strong in places! Thanks again to our hosts Barbara and Harry x
We had a lovely time here for two weeks during the summer with our family, my daughters friends, and other family who flew in from Australia. A great place for a group of 10 people with everything you'd require. The bedrooms are large, as are the living areas so there was always space where you could relax. The pool and surroundings were also perfect and even though others in the complex used it as well, it never felt over-run.
The location was a few minutes walk from nice restaurants and bars and the town is very local and doesn't feel like a tourist destination. We made great use of the local surf school who took us to Peniche for surf lessons on quite a few days. The local beach offers numerous restaurants and bars and when we were there, a beach nightclub which my teenage kids thought was a fantastic way to escape their parents in the evenings. We also visited a couple of the local wineries within 20 minutes drive, both magnificent.
Overall, highly recommend the Villa, Foz do Arelho and this part of Portugal.
Very spacious well equipped villa. More than enough space for the 6 of us and could comfortably accommodate more.
Very clean and the furnishings and equipment was of high quality.
Pool a good size and never too busy despite sharing with 3 other properties. Pool cleaner was around a few times a week.
Others have commented the wifi was weak, but we didn't have an issue with 6 of us using it and we happily watched our Sky Go through it. It was portable so didn't just limit you to the lounge.
The games room was well stocked and the pool table was a proper one. Took my darts and was disappointed the dart board was magnetic!
We didn't find dog barking at night a particular issue, but the cockerel and peacocks in the early morning took some getting used to! Using the standalone fans obscured the noise if needed.
Location worked really well for us. 5 minutes walk to a few local restaurants, mini-markets, a couple of bars and takeaways in the village. 15 minutes walk to the beautiful lagoon and 20 to the beach where there are more restaurants.
We had a car and it's a perfect location for exploring further afield - beaches and calm seas at Sao Martinho, watersports on the lagoon, castle at Obidos, and the sights of Sintra and Lisbon are all worth a trip.
This is a great value villa and we would highly recommend it.
