Stunning property, a loved and well cared for family home full of stories to be told. Our twin toddlers loved exploring the garden and swimming in the pool. We had a lovely relaxing sunny week. Benjamin was great at communicating and check in/out was very smooth. Would definitely return.
We stayed here with our 2 children (2 & 7 years) also our friends with 9 year old twins. The house was beyond our expectations and we felt like we were living in a magazine!
The interior design of the house is eclectic, fresh, modern and really charming.
The pool was heated and the perfect size for the children.
We ate outside by the greenhouse/ vegetable garden and cooked on this amazing fire/bbq, it was lovely to watch the sunset here with a glass of wine.
The kitchen had everything you could possibly need, bedrooms were beautiful, light and airy.
The kids could not believe all the toys in the playroom and really enjoyed it.
Could not recommend this house enough.
Plus Benjamin was very quick to respond to any queries and had great recommendations of places to eat.
5 stars!
We absolutely adored our stay at Les Altiers. The house has a lovely feel - a real home. The mix and match crockery, quirky Brocante pieces of furniture and decoration was inspired. Comfortable too. A wonderful vegetable garden outdoor was beautiful and we ate supper and breakfast - and lunch - outside. Pool perfect size for us and our children. We enjoyed exploring the local market and abbey at Verneuil sur Avre. Thank you!
My family and I loved this place at first sight. It is al lovely old house, beautifully restored and decorated with a very, very big garden with an nice swimming pool and enough trees to find a comfortable place in the shadow!
Our dogs loved it also, they couldnât run away as the whole terrain is surrounded.
Benjamin was a very kind and adequate host. There was a small problem with one of the showers, immediately solved!
In the surroundings a lot to do and see, even Paris was easy to do for a day trip. Or Versailles. By train.
I recommend Verneuil sur Avre, Dreux, Evreux, Rouen.
I would love to come back some day!
Ramp up Edith Piaf on the (fantastic) Sonos system and you could be on the set of Allo, Allo. A genuinely charming and totally authentic french farmhouse experience. If uncluttered, minimalist chic is your thing then this is not the place for you but we absolutely loved it.
It is a beautiful house with a great garden. The children spent hours in the pool and playroom, while we sat at the fine dining table under the tree decorated with lights. The interior of the house is very cozy and decorated with great taste and care. We had a lovely family vacation here and hope to come back again.
Een gezellig vakantiehuisje:
- voldoende uitgeruste keuken
- mooie woonkamer
- speelkamer is ideaal voor de kinderen
- mooie slaapkamers met elk een eigen douche of bad
- fijn zwembad
- rustige omgeving, maar heel mooi om te wandelen
Such a perfect hideout!
We spent a bit more then a week, during this surreal coronasummer. Looking for some quietness after a hectic spring.
The house is spacious and, as the pictures show, beautifully decorated with lots of attention to detail. Very comfortable. A great marriage of form and function. The bedrooms are spacious and in style as well. I loved taking a shower with a view on the forest.
We really enjoyed the garden, big, differents spots to be, to read or play, with different views. And shade from trees. With an occasional visit of deers. I could stay there for hours and hours.
The swimming pool is compact, heated. with a an automated pool cover. So even the days we did not have very good weather, we could have a swim.
I almost forgot the kitchen. The falcon stove is a gem.
The direct surroundings are totally calm. Endless yellow grainfields combined with green small forests. A grocery store and bakeries at a 25 minute walk, partly along some fishing ponds / parks. A nice walk.
Occasionally we needed a brief encounter with other people or change of scenery. We went to the beach one day (Veules-les-Roses) and to Rouen. Paris is nearby too, easy for a daytrip.
Benjamin was a great host. Responded very fast and was very helpful in suggestions.
So, we spent a lovely week. We just might come back again.
This property had many things that were better than expected. The pool which was heated and had an automated pool cover was brilliant. The grounds were much larger than we expected and bordered a wood which made it peaceful and private. The owners clearly are talented artists and have a wonderful sense of style. This is a family holiday home which meant it was very well equipped but also meant there were many personal belongings there. This didnât bother us at all but if youâre expecting a place that is cleared out for your use you might need to adjust your expectations. We loved the brilliant Falcon range and Smeg fridge, the two claw foot bath tubs and the wonderful rain shower. Benjamin was very responsive and easy to work with. We would definitely stay again.
What an amazing place! Such a beautiful and peaceful place to spend our holiday. The pool was an added bonus which was much enjoyed. We felt like we were staying in a magazine! Benjamin was a helpful and generous host. Thank you again for sharing your holiday home with us.
