Perfect location right next to the train station and coop grocery store, but totally quiet inside with no train or street noise. Amazing views off the balcony. The beds were very comfortable with nice & soft bedding, and the showers were hot and had great pressure. We had a great stay.
We loved the excellent view and the close proximity to the train station, super convenient. We were amazed that there was no noise from the station, yet we were so close. The communication with the team at Alpine Holiday Services was excellent. Renting a holiday home in another Country can be stressful, but they communicated every step of the way.
Chalet Sterndolde has a view that every day takes your breath away. Perfectly placed for the local COOP and the station made it an ideal location.
Not a major issue but a washing machine would have been handy.
This apartment was pretty much perfect in every way. Super close to rental office to get keys, close to train station, CoOp grocery, and pub/cafe. So cozy with the wood burning fireplace (purchased box of wood at CoOp). Equipped with all kitchen essentials. It has the most gorgeous views from the living, dining, and kitchen. Bed was very comfortable. Too many pluses to mention.
Be aware this property is rented through Alpine Holiday Services. You will receive emails from them separately from VRBO. Very friendly and accommodating.
Some suggestions would be for them to have more throw blankets (there was only one). Also, a better way to segregate trash and recycling since the renter is in charge of removal.
Our family (my wife, and two children ages 7 and 5) loved Wegen and it's family-centered environment. The apartment we stayed in added to this feeling. Specifically, it's ideal location to the train station (walkable) and grocery store (also walkable) made this an accessible adventure for small kiddos. The apartment also had all the necessities to cook meals when wanted, and the view was incredible. Literally, incredible. Finally, the support from the staff was friendly and went out to their way to help. We made some life long memories.
The train station was really close to the apartment. Having the location (which was probably provided) would have helped as we panicked about how far it was (and if we needed help with our luggage). Also, we purchased a cheese plate. There is an opportunity to help visitors learn about the cheese and cultureâperhaps by providing what the cheeses are and how it relates to the culture.
Our second time staying at Chalet Sterndole. Itâs absolutely perfect for a small family. Well stocked kitchen, comfortable sitting room and bedrooms.
Access to the laundry facilities in the building. Even to be able to wash towels mid week.
Unit is extremely close to check in and grocery with minimal steepness for walking and lugging baggage. Would recommend if anyone in your party would have issues with steep long walking. View from balcony makes for lasting memories.
This holiday apartment is located very close to the train station, has fantastic views, very cozy. We loved the small touches like board gamesa fondue set.
Great location, perfectly appointed, comfortable and clean with a stunning view from the balcony. Very easy and straightforward checking in and out. Perfect rental in Wengen.
Superb chalet, fantastic location, very comfortable, breathtaking views and immaculately clean. We have stayed here twice now and fully intend to return again.
Chalet Sterndolde was a great choice for our first time visit to Switzerland and Wengen. The condo is 2 blocks from the train station, a very good location since we traveled by train for the 5 days that we were visiting there. The best part was waking up to the cow and goat bells as they began their day in the grassy field right below us. The location is good for anywhere you might want to go in the town, including the cable car up to Mannlichen. We wanted to wash clothes but the key to the washer could not be found. Our very knowledgeable and helpful manager, Rachel, offered to wash our clothes for us. What a lifesaver! Thank you, Rachel. I would stay at the Chalet Sterndolde again.
