This apartment was wonderful! The location is a block off the square on Old Town Nafplio with short walking distances to restaurants, bars, shops and beaches. The owners were accommodating and so friendly! I would definitely stay here again.
Communication with host excellent. Rooms comfortable and clean. SO close to everything. Nafplio is a very walkable city. Parking a little challenging, but free. We loved Casa Esperanza!
We were hoping to leave owners a private review, since we encountered difficulties during our stay that we wish could have been rectified by the hosts while we were in Nafplio. The apartment was cute and roomy, authentically Greek but nicely upgraded. Looked as if it had been a loving family home for decades. BUT 2 of the 3 beds and even the daybed were literally hard as rocks. Young adults were unable to sleep on them. Luckily, one bed was OK. Additionally, we were unaware that there was a game arcade outside right below the windows. It was loud and noisy with young children until late into the night (1 am) on Saturday.. Impossible to sleep, so 2 of the 4 adults moved to a nearby pension for the remaining 2 nights. One miserable night and an additional lodging expense we had not anticipated. It put a damper on our long-anticipated holiday from the USA. It was quite a disappointment for us since travel can be difficult without getting enough sleep when needed. Perhaps sharing our experience will alert others, and hopefully, the hosts can somehow fix the beds and disclose the installation of arcade games in that location so their guests can make an informed choice when booking.
An amazing apartment in the middle of the old area of Nafplio - so very convenient to everything. Ilias and Esperanza were excellent hosts - warm and welcoming. Donât let the parking comments scare you. We found a great place to park - free - and actually never found a reason to move the car! SO lucky we found this place and canât wait to go back! Oh, I should mention the delicious treats from the Grandmother left on the table!!
We had a great time in Nafplio and this home was right in the middle of where we wanted to be.
It is a beautiful home and knew it was special when we met the owner's mother and brother who greeted us. The home has many family photos and you get a real sense of the pride this family has in Greece and they should. We felt like we were greeted by long, lost friends.
Nafplio itself is beautiful with narrow streets and the fort rising above the city. The plaza with the cafes. It is just great. And this home's location is perfect.
For Americans, it is a real break from the U.S. and really lets you dive into another culture.
I'll know when we return to Greece we'll be back.
5 seasoned female travelers thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Casa Esperanza. Meeting the hosts was a pleasure, they were warm and welcoming. There were even delicious home baked cookies prepared for us! The apartment is spacious and absolutely stunning, a total joy to stay in. The location of the apartment is very central. The balconies overlook Syntagma Square. Great for daytime and evening activities but the master bedroom is exposed to alot of street noise until midnight or so. The other bedrooms were quiet. Overall a delightful stay for sure.
Our fifth trip. Beautiful, charming place to stay. Overlooking the Syntagma. square. Very supportive property managers. Napflio is a wonderful town. Lots of wild cat poop and sewer gas odors. Food is primarily for tourists but very acceptable. You have to get out in the country to experience the best food in Greece.
The house is located very centrally and conveniently for discovering and exploring the city. The house itself is beautifully appointed and the description and photos are accurate. If you are lucky, you will also be serenaded free of charge by a bouzouki duo singing right below your window!
The apartment was very spacious and there was lots of room for everyone to unwind. The location was excellent for visiting the town, nearby ruins and the local beach. The hosts were very kind and left some lovely local snacks for us to enjoy upon our arrival. Would definitely recommend it.
Our family of four had a lovely stay in this apartment in the center of old town Nafplio. Well appointed home and great communication with the owner. Recommend!
This is a very spacious, well furnished apartment with high ceilings, wooden floors and elegant shuttered windows throughout. The balcony overlooking the street provides the perfect spot for watching the world go by in the main town square beyond. There was ample room for 7 of us (4 adults and 3 children) and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The apartment is very pretty and our hosts left lots of food for us, including baking from grandma! Ilias and Afroditi were most welcoming and helpful. The location is excellent. We could walk to dozens of restaurants and the seashore. Perfect!
I stayed for four nights with my three adult children for a relaxed Christmas holiday in Nafplio. We were met right on time by Ilias who very kindly showed us all the features of the apartment and oriented us to the many sites and restaurants. He helped us with dinner reservations and stayed in contact throughout our visit to answer our questions. He was a fantastic host.
The apartment has a homey warmth to it. There are many antiques, books and photographs throughout the apartment. The owners were kind enough to stock the refrigerator with some basic foods and the kitchen has every kind of gadget imaginable, even an automatic juicer which we used to make fresh orange juice with oranges Ilias left for us to enjoy.
The bedrooms are spacious. There is ample room to be together yet have your own space. Everything was very well cared for and maintained.
The lack of parking was not a problem at all. We were able to drive right to the apartment and drop off suitcases, and then found a place to park a few blocks away. Our car stayed parked for most of the trip as everything is within walking distance.
There is really nothing I can say that is negative about this place. Enjoy!

Great apartment in ideal location plus wonderful hosts
My family and I stayed at this apartment for three nights during a recent holiday in Greece. The apartment is very centrally located and close to all of "old town Nafphlion". You can walk to all the restaurants, sights, harbor.....everything. The photos, while accurate, do not really do justice to the flat. It is clean, in a safe area, and extremely well appointed. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are air conditioned and small balcony overlooks one of the major squares and is a pleasant place to have a coffee. The hosts are very warm and enthusiastic people who not only welcomed us, but happily. helped us with a number of special requests.
When I rented this apartment, I was apprehensive about parking, as I had a large rental car. While a dedicated parking spot is not included, there is quite a bit of free parking in the old town area and our host was very helpful in guiding me as to where I could park. It is really not a problem and should not discourage anyone from renting this unit.
Overall, this was one of our favorite places during our trip to Greece. I hope to stay there again one day.
If you are looking for the place to stay, dead center of the charming section of Old Nafplio, this is the perfect location. Our hosts, Afroditi and Ilias, were very responsive to all the endless questions and provided great recommendations of places to see....and there is plenty to see, from the shops, great restaurants, waterfront/harbor, to the Palamidi Fortress (all 900+ steps to the top). While parking is a bit tricky (and they were very upfront about that), it was a great location to be in if you wanted to get out and about. The apartment was very spacious and accommodated our group of women on our "Girl's Trip." Beautiful town, great location and plenty of room for you and your family. Thank you Afroditi and Ilias!!
Me (Afroditi) and my brother Ilias we will be glad to welcome you and accommodate you to our apartment. I currently live between Barcelona and Nafplion, working as a lawyer while Ilias leaves in Nafplion.
