What a beautiful place!! Note: you rent half of the accommodation, the owner lives in the other half. But he is very very friendly and helpful! It is an old house (which doesn't matter to me), but the kitchen needs to be renovated. I enjoyed staying there :-)
Just want to say what a beautiful property this Manoir is!! This was the first time I had stayed in a Manoir and I was not disappointed! The rooms are all bright and airy and look out over the surrounding countryside. I love swimming and the pool was always clean and warm. The gardens were all well maintained with flowers and trees. Plenty of things to do but it was lovely sitting on the terrace area in the evening with my aperitif enjoying the setting sun. Make sure you visit!
Absolutely wonderful stay at incredibly beautiful house with amazing host
We (party of 10 girls) had the most perfect week of vacation at Manoir La Breuille. The house is absolutely beautiful, more stunning than what the pictures show - both interior as exterior! The outside + pool area was were we spent most of our time since it was spacious and very inviting with lots of seating area as well as a bbq and pingpong table.
But what really made our stay so great was La Breuilleâs host, Barrie. From the very start of our stay he was extremely generous and helpful (even welcoming us with a bottle of bubbles!). We were able to come to him with any of our questions as well as for tips and advice for fun stuff to do around Montmoreau - the village which is only a short walk away from the house.
I would highly recommend staying at this amazing house for a wonderful vacation with lots of fun and beautiful sightings in this area of France. We look back at a very special week.
We had the most wonderful stay at Manoir La Breuille. The property is the best we have stayed in - a grand, traditional French Manor House, situated in stunning farmland, with a brilliant family pool. The area is perfect for those that want to experience rural France, with sleepy villages all around less than an hour away, and the cosmopolitan Bordeaux or La Rochelle only two hours away. Perfect for Cognac lovers with Cognac and Jarnac only 45 mins up the road.
The house has a good sized kitchen, BBQ and two outdoor eating areas, the rooms are traditional, warm and the beds are very comfortable.
But what would a holiday home be without it's host? Which brings me onto Barrie, the warm, helpful and quirky owner of the house. He is full of laughter, there when you need him but never overstays his welcome, full of amazing stories of his very interesting life, and a great source of info about places to visit. He was the icing on a perfect cake for our group and we cannot thank him enough.
So if you are looking for a brilliant family holiday, then look no further than Manoir La Breuille!
A small group of women from the US traveled to France in late May. We booked the Manoir La Breuille for 4 days and had high expectations and neither the villa nor owner disappointed! The grounds and the home were charming and beautiful - maintained to perfection. The owner was welcoming, kind and so warm and generous. He shared stories of the estate's history and was available for anything we needed. We all agreed we would return again in a heartbeat. My friends at home were jealous when they saw my many, many photos of the Manor.
8 of us stayed here to watch the historic car racing at Angouleme and used the house as a base. It really is as lovely as it looks in the pictures, the rooms are large with really comfy beds.
The owners are also really good to deal with and responded with any queries we had.
Perfect house for either a group of friends or a family gathering. Highly recommended.
