À 5 min de route de la Baie des Anglais, c'est une villa retirée, mais confortable, parfaite pour passer des vacances dans un bel environnement, proche de la nature. Au milieu de la riche forêt tropicale avec une des plus grandes variétés d'oiseaux au monde. Entre deux village de pêcheurs pittoresques - Castara et Parlutuvier - poisson frais, tels le vivaneau rouge, le martin-pêcheur et le thon à pêcher, acheter et cuisiner au bord de la piscine en 30 minutes. Jardin magnifique entretenu par notre fidèle jardinier de confiance - Jango, qui peut vous aider pour tout. La femme de ménage, Glynis, vient trois fois par semaine. Allée privée avec portail électrique. Pêchez depuis la plage ainsi que d'un bateau ; jouez au golf dans un des 2 magnifiques parcours de golf - dont un libellé PGA ; partez en randonnée dans la forêt jusqu'aux cascades ; faites de la plongée sous-marine et libre avec les tortues et les scalaires ; ou simplement enchaînez les plages sur la côte, toutes merveilleuses.

Relaxing stay in a beautiful house true paradise

Spent another week at this beautiful and peaceful remote house. Perfect place to escape the hectic world surrounded by rainforest. We hope to return for a third visit.

Superb and very interesting remote location near a perfect beach with super snorkelling. Ideal for older families. Villa equipped with everything you might need. Thank you for letting us stay we hope to revisit.

Stunning Villa

Amazing peaceful villa in the rainforest near Englishman’s bay & Castara … beautiful birds ,flowers,agouti squirrels with a lovely pool .. such a great place to stay . All amenities & very comfortable… we were 3 generations of our family celebrating Christmas … very sad to leave

Dive vacation

Villa fit our needs perfectly. Lots to do topside around Englishman’s Bay, Castara, Parlatuvier, rain forest. Daytrips to Speyside, Charlotteville, Scarborough. Dove with Rich from Wild Turtle. Highly recommend. If you visit Tanager villa please say hi to “Howard”, the friendly dove who likes to hang out poolside.

Stunning villa in an incredible location

We love our stay at this villa , it’s very well equipped and set in a beautiful location surrounded by rainforest, the pool was perfect and the beaches around here are so unspoilt Jango was on hand with all enquiries and to help us with anything. Lots of wildlife around the villa , car is absolutely necessary as it is a bit remote. The village of Castara is nice and you can buy fresh fish from the fishermen around 4 pm by the beach. We will be returning.

Wonderful Stay at Tannager Ridge

We really enjoyed our stay at Tannager Ridge and Jason was a huge help with all our questions and sorting out any issues we had immediately. The view is spectacular and the pool is fantastic and was a huge highlight for us. We will always treasure our memories of our stay here: waking up to the sounds of all the animals chatting away, enjoying a swim in the pool before breakfast, the view from the master bedroom, dinner on the veranda, and the tranquil surroundings. The way the house flows from inside to outside was also very enjoyable. Suggestions/Feedback: Do feel it needs a few updates and could have been cleaner. The plumbing didn’t work great, the kitchen cupboards felt sticky and under the beds was dusty. Otherwise a great place and a really beautiful location.

Wonderful, relaxing trip

Overall a wonderful time. What a privilege to be in this beautiful environment! Rich variety and colours of birds, shrubs, trees, and flowers. We also appreciated being able to go for walks in the area. Thanks to Jango- the gardener, for always willing to assist with driving etc on the days we didn't have a vehicle. He was always willing to talk about the plants and the land around; and to help address any needs we might have related to the property, including the house itself. Recommend updating the amenities listed online. e.g.no television access...which would have been helpful on days when there was rain or particular sports activities.. As well, there was no internet for at least 3 days. Beautiful house but not new so one or two light bulbs needed to be changed and keys needed sorting out. Maybe highlight the importance of a heavy duty vehicle. Important to add that we always felt safe. Still great trip overall! 4 to 4.5 rating. Strongly recommended! Again, many thanks to Jango.

Just what our family needed. Quiet secluded. With all the comforts of home. The pictures do not do the place justice. Way more than expected. The owner was great, the grounds keeper and housekeeper were lovely. Thank you for sharing this beautiful property with us.

A Tropical Paradise

If you're looking to get away from the crowds to simply commune with Mother Nature, then you've found the perfect location! This beautiful home is well-appointed and nestled among trees and flowering shrubs of all kind. The surrounding gardens are well-manicured and there seemed to be an endless parade of birds visiting. The owner is very quick to respond to any and all communication - really great to work with. If you love nature, get yourself booked!

A beautiful villa for an unforgettable getaway. The drive from the Main Street up to the villa is a bit tricky, but totally worth it once you get there. Fresh fish delivered to your door by Jango is a priceless treat!

Loved, loved, loved this place! We would return in a heartbeat.

This property was absolutely perfect for our stay. We loved the tranquility and all of the birds and wildlife. The kids spent hours in the pool, and we could easily drive down to the beautiful beach at Englishmens Bay for a swim in the ocean or a delicious lunch. Jango was very helpful - meeting us at the airport and helping to guide us to the house in the dark (with a stop at the grocery store). He got us fresh fish, and even picked some limes and herbs so we could add to the flavour when cooking. He arranged a bird watching outing with Darlington for my brother, who came back having seen lots of birds, as well as info on local history. The gardens around the property that he maintains are beautiful. I couldn’t recommend this place more. I hope we make it back someday.

Stunning Villa set in the jungle above Englishman’s Bay

We had a fabulous time staying in this beautiful villa in the jungle.It has a wonderful setting ,exotic plants & fruit trees,tropical birds & sea views.We all loved staying here......three generations with 4 children.The villa is very well equipped with everything you need.You have the lovely sweet Glynnis who comes & cleans & changes sheets & towels twice a week.Jango who looks after the pool & the beautiful gardens.He is very knowledgeable on the plants & flowers & we had lovely conversations with him.They are both so friendly & were very helpful to us.You also have the lovely Adam,the house Manager,a Brit who lives nearby in Castara.He will sort out anything you need.It is just a lovely lovely villa, a perfect spot near beautiful beaches & Castara fishing village.There are lovely local bars & restaurants & supermarket in Castara.We just had the most amazing time celebrating Xmas , New Year & my special Birthday. We are all planning to return .

The Tanager Ridge Villa, a luxury hideaway!

The Villa exceeded our expectations by far. Well-maintained, clean and in every corner of the house, you can feel the owners touch they gave to this place. In other words, it was just OUR HOME for two weeks. Internet and TV worked well and the Sound System was fabulous. And we met three of the nicest people, you'd ever want to know. Jango, responsible for the beautiful garden, is always in reach if you have a question. Glynnis does the cleaning twice a week and she does it in a perfect manner. Adam is the general house manager, very kind and helpful in every situation. We rented a Suzuki Jimny from Taylor's Car Rental in Castara. Great car, perfect service and very nice people! Tobago is still the unspoiled carribean island we visited in 1988. We love it and so will you, for sure!

The villa, views and surrounding beaches are absolutely gorgeous!

We truly enjoyed our time spent at the villa. It was comfortable and accommodating for my family which included my infant granddaughter and my 87 year old mother who is wheelchair dependant. The garden is absolutely gorgeous and well kept up - kudos to Jango although we did not meet him we knew he was there with us overnight. Adam was very helpful and generally made us feel assured that he was always available but this was not at all necessary during our stay. We found Glenys to be very sweet and friendly, she made us feel at home. Will definitely recommend this beautiful villa and stay again.

Absolutely amazing

The loction firstly is so serene that i would make even the most concrete jungle oriented human fall in love and become a nature lover the house manager is absolutely heartwarming and would make you feel right at home instantaneously the price is absolutely worth it would recommend here to every family couple and newly weds because to me i found home away from home 😌

Breathtaking

The villa was gorgeous and was everything we wanted in a vacation spot! Friendly note, the beach is not a 10 minute walk away. Please don’t tell people this. It’s more like a 30 min hike through a roller coaster road in the mountains. It was a bit difficult, especially for the little ones. But overall this place was heaven for the four nights we were there. Will definitely return for another visit to Tanager Ridge!!

Beautiful home, tasteful decor with all the amenities you need!

I’d highly recommend this property for a family or group of friends. It’s away from it all so there are no noises except for maybe some frogs and streams. The house has a wonderful layout perfect for relaxing with all the amenities of home. All of the bedrooms are private and comfortable. There are several common areas and the garden is absolutely beautiful! We found the house to be very well-appointed...there was cable tv, internet, board games, snorkeling gear, plush towels and extra linens, a well equipped kitchen and bar, laundry, etc. Englishman’s Bay is a 5 minute drive from the house and is absolutely gorgeous with good snorkeling. We found the caretaker, Jango, to be very accommodating. He’s a bit shy at first but he’s very sweet and you can see how hard he works to keep up the property. The same is true for Glenys, the cleaning lady:) The house is in the “county” about an hour drive from the airport so I would definitely recommend an escort to the house upon arrival which can be arranged by the homeowner. If you rent a car we had a great experience with Rattan’s Car Rental Service. Earlier reviews mentioned a lack of lighting around the pool but we found it sufficient and ambient. We had no issues with plumbing and the kitchen is amply stocked. I honestly can’t think of one thing we needed and didn’t have. Great place to get away and make great memories!

Truly an Island Paradise

My wife and I chose this property for our honeymoon stay. We were not at all disappointed. The setting was simply beautiful. It is quite private, the pool was gorgeous; almost every day we had fresh grapefruits grown there on the property. Adam was simply wonderful when it came to accommodating us and making sure our stay was enjoyable and comfortable. If you are looking for a secluded getaway spot where you can lounge the day away we give this property 5 stars out of 5! Will definitely recommend!

The villa was located in a peaceful location away from it all.

The villa states sleep ten with 5 bedroom but only sleep 8 as one of the little guest houses not ready . The cleaner came once a week not 3 times a week as it states only changed the bedding after 10 days towels not changed at all.cooker ring rusty and tilted rings when a pan put on very dangerous , only 3 bowls available for breakfast so could not all sit down together. Water pump kept playing up resulting in no water sometimes had to use a bucket to get water from pool so people could use the toilet. Mosquito nets that was been put had rusty marks on. Some lighting around the house did not work at all, we had to ask the house manager to clean the pool when we arrived as it was dirty .we informed the owner that they would be 10 people staying and with the other house not available my father in law who is 70 plus visited from Trinidad and had to sleep on the sofa which was broken.the house manager / gardener spent most of his time down in a bar and only started doing jobs the last few days saying have to get it sorted big boss man coming.

I am a heart doctor, originally from Australia but now live and work in England. I have two sons who help me run the property, and one daughter. A keen fisherman, I discovered and fell in love with Tobago in 2003.

Tobago is a beautiful island that is yet to feel the effects of mass tourism, yet has as many if not more perfect locations of the more established Caribbean islands. Our property is situated very near to one of the most renowned beaches in the world - Englishman's Bay. It is in a secluded eco-environment with very strict planning rules and as a result is extremely unspoilt.

Our house sits on top of a ridge surrounded by the jungle, and has a beautiful garden that is meticulously maintained. Overlooking the sea, and a 5 minute drive on a private road from Englishman's Bay, the house is the perfect location for adventurous travellers who strive for seclusion and proximity to nature. The property is an hour's drive from the airport, sleeps 8 and has a swimming pool, cable TV and several terraces from which to enjoy the sunset.
