Overall the property was a great base for touring where we wanted to go. Itâs in a peaceful location with great walks nearby yet close to Fort Augustus with all the amenities there. We greatly enjoyed our time there.
A very relaxing stay with plenty to do nearby. The accommodation is large, clean and well looked after. Will definitely look into going back in the future
Great sized accommodation with plenty of space and storage. Excellent location with a forest literally on its doorstep and with Fort Augustus & Loch Ness only a couple of km away. Peace and tranquility guaranteed.
The property is full of character, and is an only a short walk to Loch Ness.
Really enjoyed the property and the area, plus itâs a great base to explore the highlands.
We enjoyed our stay Wildwood. Great location - especially if you have a dog. Spent most days walking in the woods and then popping down to the village for coffee and cake and a wander round the gift shops.
What a wonderful lodge ... everything you need home from home. Perfect location for our trips ie climbing Ben Nevis. Very spacious with the added bonus of the boot room so all the muddy walking gear can be contained to one space. The views are stunning with woodland walks on the doorstep.
Highly recommend
Fabulous location and spacious property, comfy beds, well equipped .
Would stay again. Could do with a deep clean though . Was very dog smelly when we arrived, bench outside canât be sat on as dangerous so no where to sit.
The most beautiful peaceful and tranquil place we could have chosen for our family holiday! Fully equipped with everything we could have possibly needed, rooms were spacious, bathrooms were clean and well looked after. The range of birds visiting outside was wonderful and we would happily visit again if given the chance :)
Not the first time we have stayed at this property but just as impressive, welcoming and a brilliant location of what Scotland has to offer. Some great memories have been made here.
Good communication, perfect for long walks with dogs & family. Had everything we needed, spacious and clean. Basic TV but lots of DVDs and we enjoyed games and cards instead.
We recommend this lodge as we had a brilliant time. The lodge was lovely and clean it had everything you would want. It's got a lovely view as you look out the windows . We took our dogs and they enjoyed the walks though the forest as we did to . Fort Augustus is a great place. The people are very friendly. Lovelys walks along the canal. Would definitely go back again.
The house is spacious and in a lovely location just outside Fort Augustus. Plenty of room for 7 people and well equipt. Great for dog owners! (But could do with a bit of TLC). Great walks staight out of the door and a good starting point for trips out to the surrounding area, Inverness or Skye only1 hour away.
Would recommend this property to families with dogs!

We had a great stay here, the cabin itself was lovely and quiet. The beds were comfortable and the living areas are great for watching the birds. The cabin could do with some TLC (some wobbly door handles and finicky taps) and maybe a deep clean to get rid of webs and dust balls but that certainly wouldnât stop me from visiting again. Itâs also a good location to use as a base if you want to explore lots of areas of the Highlands. We visited Fort William, Inverness, Glenfinnan and even got to visit the Isle of Skye however thatâs a longer journey. Great overall and weâll look forward to visiting again, Thankyou!
Lovely quiet position, clean and comfortable accommodation. Christmas decorations were put up for us and lots of welcome goodies. A disappointment only came as we arrived at 13:00 as we had been advised we were welcome after 12:00 as a special arrangement but unfortunately the house keeper was unaware of this . Also the inability to watch bbc and itv was a shame and we had to use our lap tops to watch normal tv which I do understand but not everyone may be equipped . Obviously we were on a nature holiday as it were but in the winter with dogs your evening entertainment is limited . But I would definitely recommend as a beautiful, clean and well equipped place to stay.
The property is on the edge of Fort Augustus, surrounded by trees. You can be in town in a few minutes by car.
The house was our starting point to explore Scotland. The location is perfect, right in the heart of the Highlands.
The house is rustic and integrates wonderfully into nature. The living room with fireplace on the first floor was our meeting place every evening to evaluate the day and plan the next day.
We didn't have much contact with the owner as everything was settled and there were no further questions, but the times that we had contact the replies were always quick, helpful and friendly.
We would definitely book the house again if we make another trip to the Highlands.
As the owner it is good to stay at Wildwood and enjoy the ambience that this log house provides. We spent our time deep cleaning the property and general maintenance works, keeping Wildwood up to scratch. Things being done over the next couple of weeks include a new stone driveway, more winter gardening work, rooms painted, floors varnished, kitchen painted, bathrooms resealed, new sofa's installed, new hob installed, lighting up dated to LED, new timer switch, new panel heaters, furniture either repaired or replaced, new Christmas Tree, new pots and pans and additional kitchenware.
So lot's done and more to be done over the next couple of weeks.
Christmas is booked but New Year is now re-available due to unforeseen circumstances.
A busy year for Wildwood and thank you's to all who stayed and enjoyed this majestic part of the Highlands.
We (and Bracken & Milo) welcome you back next year.
Bookings are already coming in so if you have a specific date in mind don't delay, book before you become disappointed.
Happy Holidays

We really loved our stay here. Very easy access to the house when we arrived, and the location was just perfect for most of the things we wanted to see. We also loved the facilities in the house. I will definitely recommend others to stay here for a nice holiday in the highlands!
Rustig gelegen houten huis aan de rand van bos. Mooi uitzicht op de bosrand vanuit het raam.
Zeer rustige toegangsweg achterlangs.
Sehr schönes gerÀumiges Holzhaus in ruhiger Umgebung
Living in the South East of England, Wildwood is our gateway to the great outdoors and adventure. It's where we enjoy many activities like biking, hiking, kayaking, walking and exploring. It's our bolt hole to get away from the every day stresses of life. Over the years we have made many friends in the area and enjoy our regular trips to the fantastic Scottish Highlands and all it has to offer.
Fort Augustus is the epicentre of the Scottish Highlands. Wildwood is situated in the heart of the Inchnacardoch Forest and is a home away from the bustle of everyday modern life - even after just one week you will feel refreshed and have a new vigor to resume your normal life back home. Wildwood will hopefully give you a small snapshot of a time long ago where families and couples can enjoy each others company even in this fast paced world which we now reside. Take time to enjoy the remoteness of the forest walks, to smell the trees, listen to the birds, see the deer and enjoy proper conversation with loved ones. Have a great holiday!
Wildwood gives you the opportunity to stay in a relatively remote Scandanavian Log House with all the modern trimmings to make your holiday that much more enjoyable, but never to far from civilisation which allow's you to benefit from all that Fort Augustus has to offer! The views of the forest, the birds, deer and our resident Pine Martins compliment Wildwood Close your eyes and picture this luxury log house in it's forest setting - TRANQUILLITY!!!
