Beautiful home and property. Quiet and well located to get to beaches and Tavira easily by car. Would highly recommend. The host checked in regularly, and offered lots of good information. House was well stocked, but if you are arriving late, make sure to pick up groceries.
We had a lovely stay at Casa Lia in September. The weather was perfect and the villa was everything we needed for a relaxing week. Tavira is also a lovely place, with lots of great restaurants!
We stayed at the Villa 11 perfect days. We visited the Algarve and this was our homebase. Debbie the owner was soooo on top of things and helpful whenever we needed help.. Jimmy and Fatima catered to our every needs if we needed help. The Villa was spacious and clean, the views were breathtaking,it was the perfect feeling of calmness.
The house and location is very well described on the website and you get what you see - a very nice house with a beautiful view. My husband, daughter and I enjoyed every moment. The location is peaceful and you simply can just relax and enjoy the pool.
Both Denise and Debbie are really nice and helpful so you feel you are in good hands during the whole stay. We can highly recommend this place.
Tavira is very nice and cosy and the beaches are just amazing.
From driving up on the first night and seeing the beautiful driveway lights, to our leisurely final day by the pool, this villa has been exquisite throughout. The owner has found just the right balance between keeping it extremely clean while making it a comfortable and fun place to spend your hols.
Itâs remote (how we like it) but just 10 minute drive from restaurants/ supermarkets etc.
Imagine waking up in the stunning natural Algarve nature and jumping into your own private pool in the hills.
Iâll never forget the peace this place put in my heart.
Would I come again? You betcha!
Casa Lia was clean and really well-equipped with absolutely everything we needed. The outdoor space was perfect with a table in a shaded area and a pool perfect for cooling off. It was really windy while we were there - particularly at night so if you are a light sleeper ear plugs might be handy.
The communication with Debbie, the owner was great and Jimmy and Fatima were on hand to guide us to the Villa when we arrived and deal with any queries.
The villa is in a stunning location - completely away from other properties. It is about a 15 minute drive from Tavira which is a beautiful town - and especially stunning at night. Local beaches are great - weâd particularly recommend Cacela Velha.
Casa Lia was a fantastic place for real rest and relaxation!
My partner and I and 2 other couples who are close friends stayed at Casa Lia for 2 weeks and did not want to leave! from the start, Debbie the owner was really good to deal with and answered all our questions with enthusiasm and professionalism, making the whole booking process easy and straight forward. Casa Lia is just a hidden gem. I totally forgot to write in the visitor book, falling asleep by the pool on the last day seemed to take over especially as Debbie let us stay later as we had a late flight home. I can not recommend this villa enough. The overall accommodation is spacious, well laid out, kind to the eye and unusually homely for a holiday home. Everything you can wish for from the dishwasher to full English TV (not that I watched it much) and a music system with outside speakers. The choice of music available was surprisingly good from 60's to opera if you like that kind of thing. Phone and mobile data is excellent in this area so Wi-Fi is not needed, better than at home in the UK! The outside space is excellent with a lovely clean pool and amazing views all round. Most days you can see all the way to the sea. You do need a car as the nearest shop is about 15 minutes drive away and local beaches (Casela Velha our favourite) about 20 mins away. Tavira is about 15 mins away which is a lovely Portuguese town/city not too spoilt by tourism and spoilt for choice with restaurants and bars. There is a very good Lidl and indoor shopping centre called The Grand Plasa about 20 mins away. The best part by far is the quiet and privacy this villa gives with the nearest house about 1/4 mile away. Perfect for that all over tan while enjoying the view............. A stylish outdoor BBQ which was used most nights, cooking under the stars to the sound of the crickets.
Mitchel (the guy who looks after the villa) was a gem. We only saw him once more after arrival which was the day before we left but I did send a couple of texts to ask about local info and he always came straight back. We were out when Valentina came to clean half way through but she did a really good job and even hung our washing out which was still in the machine. We very much look forward to staying at Casa Lia again in the future.
Die Villa war wirklich toll. Alles vorhanden, was man braucht!
Fantastic place to stay, away from it all but had everything we needed. Pool wasn't heated but we soon got used to the cool water and the location was perfect. Great contact from owner and property manager.
Our vacation is ready, we are home. What a great vacation it was! Thanks to Debbie, Denise and Jimmy!! Debbie is available 24/7 and a great host. Sweet, involved and sincere. And Denise and Jimmy are always around in case something goes wrong! And respect your privacy. During our holiday we literally stood in front of some hot fires. And Debbie was always readyâŠ. With a sweet app or a phone call to let you know how things are going. The house is lovely. Everything you need for a relaxing holiday is here and more! Peace, freedom and sun. Highly recommended. I feel like we made some nieuw friendsâ€ïž
Thanks Debbie, Denise and Jimmy, See you soon, Erik, Mireille and Valentijn
Strand, Restaurants, Einkauf, alles in 15 Autominuten erreichbar.
We loved the quiet secluded location, with beautiful views in all directions, yet only 10/15 mins from Tavira. Great restaurants close by and in the town.
Fabulous villa with gorgeous pool. Clean and comfortable with everything you could wish for to make your stay perfect. Fantastic BBQ and terrace for lovely outdoor dining.
The perfect place to enjoy a relaxing and peaceful holiday.

And breathe.........
Our third visit to Casa Lia which must say something! We love the well equipped house and it's lovely garden and pool which we can happily spend many hours in. We love the location, away from the crowds with far reaching views and the peace and quiet. We love the friendly nature of the owner and the people who look after the villa and pool who are always so helpful. There really is nothing we don't love about the place and we will be back!

The most relaxing vacation!
We stayed 2 weeks at Casa Lia and really enjoyed it. The house is spacious and we especially liked the outside area at the pool a lot. Since there are no direct neighbors it was wonderful that the kids were able to play at the pool and did not disturb anyone with noise. It is so peaceful out there and we were really able to relax! The drive from the main road (125) to the house is quiet a bit (about 15 minutes), but that is ok. Our favorite beaches were Cabanas and Praia Verde.
We were let down by the villa we had originally wanted to book in Spain and so had a last minute scramble to find somewhere to stay within our budget. Debbie was so helpful when I spoken to her and assured me that the Villa sounded like just what we needed.
The pictures looked amazing and so we were quite excited. The whole process was very easy, We arrived in Faro and picked up our hire car, we called Mitchell and he was happy with us going shopping first and then meeting him. We found Aldi in Tavira with no trouble and bought a few bits to see us through the first few days and then met Mitchell for the final drive up to the villa.
When we arrived, after the slightly hairy drive with narrow roads (I have never driven a LH drive car before) we arrived at the most amazing and beautiful location.
The Villa was clean, light, bright and airy. With no immediate neighbours it was also very peaceful.
There was plenty of space both inside and outside and amazing views from the roof terrace. You could even see the sea on the horizon. The rooms were all comfortable and clean, despite my visitor (I found a gecko on the wall but he kept hiding somewhere so I couldn't put him out) I slept very well. My friends found it a little too quiet, but they both live in a city so are not used the silence.
We travelled to Tavira on 2 days of our short stay and found it to be a beautiful place, the people were all very friendly and the food in bar/restaurant Matias was amazing. We also took a drive to Pedras D'el Rei which was very easy to find with stunning beaches. it seemed very popular though with the beach still being packed when we arrived at 5.30pm.
All in all we had an amzing break and are already thinking of returning next year and recommending it to our family and friends.
Lovely family villa set in quiet location, ideal for 6 with lots of space to spread out & relax
My wife and I have been holidaying in Tavira for over 12 years now and really love the area. This year we decided to holiday with our daughter, partner and grandchildren aged 5 & 2 and chose this villa for our stay.
Whilst there are steps to access the property from the driveway, the rest of the villa and pool area are all on 1 level which is ideal for little 1's to be able to move around without taking a tumble. The kitchen and lounge are spacious and open plan which again makes it easier for food preparation and chatting/relaxing to be the norm. You can dine inside or out to suit you but we dined outside as the table area is fully shaded in the morning and evening. Lunchtime, half the area is shaded but we just moved the chairs onto that side and managed to get all 6 of us in the cool.
There is lots of space around the pool for 6 loungers, tables and parasol and still have room to be able play some games too or there is a large sun terrace area on the roof where you can have a kick about or dry washing out of the way. The pool is lovely and the kids loved being able to splash about to cool off whenever they wanted as did the adults !! There are 3 or 4 steps to get in/out and then the pool slopes quickly away to it's max. depth - I'm 5ft 10 and could stand all the way around no problem. We also liked that the floor outside by the pool doesn't become too hot to walk on in bare feet in the afternoon unlike some of the terracotta tiles. Again, great for the little 1's and adults alike - no need for any mad dashes getting out of the pool or taking a breather from the loungers, risking stubbed toes etc !!
The property is well presented with lots of extra bed linen and towels in abundance. Each room has aircon and some have ceiling fans too. In this property, you have to pay extra for electricity used during your stay and the owner estimates a party of 6 will normally use about ÂŁ7/ÂŁ9 per day so just bear this in mind. Most properties we have stayed in previously include this in their pricing but here it's your choice to some degree how much you use.
The property is well located for access to supermarkets, meals out in Tavira and the motorway are all within a 15/20 mins drive.
The property manager Mitchell is very approachable and went out of his way to help us if we needed something, he is only about 20 mins away and Ron & Denise - a lovely couple who manage the pool cleaning are just up the road.
All in all we had a lovely family holiday.
Fantastic peaceful and spacious well equipped villa
Just returned from a short stay at Casa Lia. We absolutely loved it. Travelling with two teenage boys we all had plenty of our own space as lots of room inside and outside. Everything was there that you needed even down to the picnic box & cold blocks for when we were out for the day to the water parks. There were plenty of towels, plastic pots and all conceivable kitchen items. The villa whilst peaceful is down an unmade track for the last 800 metres. We had a low slung sports car which was not ideal. Plenty of places to visit within a 30-45 drive. There are large supermarkets within a 15 minute drive. The house manager Mitchell was very helpful and the check in process was very easy including liaising with Debbie the owner who was extrembly helpful. We would love to come back again.
Our second stay at Casa Lia was just as good as we had remembered! The spacious villa is set in a stunning location, the only real noise from the cicadas in the trees! The facilities are excellent, everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Mitchell the house manager is charming, speaks good English and is always ready to help. We made good use of the pool which is attended to regularly and spent many happy evenings barbecuing and enjoying a glass or two of wine bought at very reasonable prices from Lidl in Tavira. The geckos caused a great deal of amusement with their nightly antics. The terrace is the perfect place for star gazing and if you are there at the right time you may see shooting stars as we did on both occasions we have visited. We also enjoyed excellent tapas at Pausa and D' gusta in Tavira, having booked these from the UK as we know how popular they are in peak season. Our favourite beach remains Terra Estreita, reached by ferry from Santa Luzia. All in all a great holiday and we look forward to returning another year.
We spent 2 weeks in July 17 and had a great time. The VIlla is very homely with everything needed for a peaceful holiday. It is remote, but that's what we wanted, although it's only a 15 minute drive to Tavira. Outside space is great with stunning views across the valleys. It is in quite a windy spot which is great during the day as it's a cool breeze on a very hot day, but the wind can howl at night. The owner Debbie was very accommodating throughout and managed any questions we had quickly. Air conditioning is extra, so you will need to keep an eye on the use of it. I think it was about an extra ÂŁ60 a week for the electricity. Overall the location was great, close to many places and away from any crowds. If you want a quiet family holiday then this is the place.
We have really hectic lives and holidays are really important to us. Casa Lia, is home from home. Portugal is a beautiful country, relatively unspoiled by tourism. I went to night school last year to learn the language! When I am not wearing my bikini at the villa, I am a bit of an anorak. Holidays are very much family time for us, which we really treasure and I suppose I hope the girls will keep coming on holiday to our lovely home for as long as possible, perhaps even with grandchildren one day!
Tavira is in a really unspoiled part of the Algarve. It's a very pretty Roman town with cobbled streets and lovely restaurants. My husband and I love totally peaceful holidays which is why we bought Casa Lia. When the girls were small they loved Casa Lia and now they are 25 and 28 they love all the things that young people do. It's important that there's enough to keep them occupied. They bring their partners with them and spend days splashing in the pool, listening to CDs and when it gets too hot they chilled with DVDs in the air-conditioning. The enjoyed the new shopping centre, went to Faro, Manta Rota, Cabanas, Cacela Velha, and ate delicious meals in Tavira, enjoyed the entertainment in the square, went to an open air concert with fireworks in Manta Rota and had beach days there and at Praia Verde.
We came to Tavira in November 2007 and viewed 40 properties in 5 days. With Casa Lia, it was pretty much love at first sight. We couldn't get over the feeling of sheer space, light and sunshine. The marble tiles in the bathrooms are nicer than the ones we have at home! You stand outside the house and it is almost shockingly peaceful. If two birds twitter at the same time, that seems noisy! Perhaps you'll hear the buzz of a Vespa scooter a mile away, but that's about it. The views are panoramic with the Atlantic in the distance and around you beautiful rolling countryside. We have almost three acres, so total privacy is what you get. Sitting there early in the morning before the children get up with my fresh coffee and a good book I feel the stress just flow away! Why do we live in London?..
