We spent 4 days at this oceanfront cottage and loved much about it. The host was warm and very accommodating. The location feels remote and peaceful, yet itâs easy to find with GPS. A winding drive brings you to a home that looks just like the pictures. The star of the stay is the view of the Northumberland Straitâseals, rabbits, birdsong, and even the occasional eagle make it unforgettable. From the airy living room and screened porch, youâll hear waves all day.Inside, the cottage is cozy, clean and bright thanks to high ceilings and plenty of windows. Beds and pillows are comfortable, the shower works well, and WiFi was flawless. The kitchen is stocked for cooking, though youâll need round coffee filters and supplies from Montagueâs supermarkets. Thereâs an extra loft bed too, though with no light. That said, there are things to know. The house has no dishwasher, waste sorting isnât explained, and the thin wooden walls carry every sound, making privacy tough. Beach access isnât available, despite the oceanfront setting. The biggest drawback is the insectsâmosquitoes, flies, ants, even wasps. They aggressively swarm outside and sneak indoors despite the screened porch, which had holes during our stay. The firepit and chairs looked inviting, but bugs made them unusable. In short, this is a beautiful, secluded spot with unbeatable views and comfort inside. Just arrive prepared for relentless insects and be aware future nearby development may reduce its quiet charm.
