Beautiful home on slope overlooking the Caribbean. Spent many hours relaxing on the porch. The house keeper Flores and home manager Joan were delightful. Anything you needed Joan would see to it. They even have a designated taxi driver to take you anywhere. Could not have been an easier stay.
This is an amazing property. We did not rent a car and used the driver for airport transportation and for getting around the island for sightseeing. The driver was amazing and reasonably priced. The housekeeper came almost daily to clean, change bedding, and wash towels. She was very kind and helpful. We worked with Lucian Adventures to do many excursions throughout the week and we were very happy with the friendly and accommodating staff. This villa is a dream!
This property was exceptional in both location and beauty. It is very well kept with plenty of instructions upon arrival. The homeowner is responsive and accommodating. I can't speak of this property highly enough. Simply outstanding.
Had a wonderful stay at La Toc Villa. Location in Castries made us feel safe. We loved the beach we walked to and the bakery at the top of the hill. We enjoyed coming home each day after a long day of sightseeing to a dip in our private pool!
We had an amazing time at La Toc Villa. We were provided with a wealth of information from Melanie and Joan before we even arrived. Then we were greeted with warmth and hospitality from the moment Alston picked us up at the airport, to meeting with Flores and Joan upon our arrival at the Villa. The villa was beautiful, and the views were breathtaking. We enjoyed the indoor/outdoor living spaces every morning and evening. Being located in Castries, we felt like it we had easy access to all parts of island. We would highly recommended La Toc Villa.
What an amazing place to make memories. La Toc Villa is beautiful. It is so well sited to get extraordinary views, from the balcony, the pool, the bedrooms--in fact, from every room. We loved swimming in the pool, playing games on the deck and eating great food prepared by Flores. Joan was attentive and a fabulous host. The villa was perfect. We chose not to drive the roads and Alston was greatly--timely and respectful, with great shortcuts and suggestions. The beach is really nice, although a bit of a hike back up the hill (energizing??). Highly recommend.
Our family of 5 absolutely loved our stay at Melanie & Mike's La Toc Villa. Melanie went out of her way to provide us with great tips for our planning and Joan the property manager was more than happy to answer questions for us along the way also. The villa has incredible views and we could have easily never left the property enjoying the pool, beach and amazing landscape. Even the walk down to the beach is picturesque. The kids had a blast watching the helicopters, private jets, cruise ships and boats every day. We had everything we needed and Flores the lovely housekeeper made sure we were always comfortable. The whole stay felt luxurious! Thank you Melanie for hosting our family's very memorable stay in Saint Lucia.
This property is beautiful and well maintained inside and out! The decor is minimalist, beachy, and classy. The outdoor living areas are spacious with lots of seating. The lighting outside provides lots of light to enjoy this villa at night with itâs indoor/outdoor living. The property is laid out well and the bedrooms were spacious. Beds were comfy and showers never ran out of hot water. There is only air conditioning in the bedrooms and the rest of the house is open air. It got a little hot in the main spaces bc it was the dead of summer so a few floor fans might fix that for that time of year.
Before arrival the homeowner and manager provided a wealth of information. All questions/concerns were answered immediately by the manager. The house was clean and kept clean by the wonderful housekeeper and can she can cook a magnificent local meal for a small fee if desired. The kitchen is pretty much fully equipped so preparing and making meals was pretty easy. Both the manager and housekeeper are valuable assets to the villa.
We have young adult children and we all relaxed in and by the pool almost every day at some point. The beach that is close is a little tricky to get to but manageable for people who do well with stairs and uneven terrain. The water was a little rough on la toc beach while we were there so we did drive to calmer beaches not too far away.
We really enjoyed our time in St Lucia and enjoyed the time and memories we made as a family at La Toc Villa!
Les points faibles : Communication et emplacement
Just ok
On the positive the property has amazing views, is super clean and comes with the support of the most amazing housekeeper who did everything possible to make our stay special.
However the house and hospitality itself comes up quite short and overall felt very miserly. The house interior is old and in need of a lot of maintenance. Yellowed chipped toilet seats, threadbare old linens, old noisy fridge, old chipped and damaged kitchenware. The whole place needs a refurb. The showers are terrible. After a five minute wait we were able to get hot water in one but at barely adequate pressure. We found out this is because the owner chooses to limit the amount of time the hot water heater runs which is really poor.
The pool faces away from the sun and is very cold. TVs are old and small etc.
Check in felt more like being back at boarding school with an exhausting and pretty inhospitable list of dos and donâts including things like âif you use up the paper towels and toilet paper youâll have to buy your ownâ.
So overall weâd say not the worst but certainly far from the best weâve stayed in.
FYI two points to note in case you do stay here to consider binging yourself. Not that they were promised in the listing or anything but we were surprised to find no Nespresso or K-Cups machine-just a French Ppress thatâs seen better days. And thereâs no technology like iPhone chargers, USB adaptors or Apple TV units.
Our family of 5 visited for a week from Texas. We rented a car(prepare to drive on the left and be alert)and this was a good choice as we like to be on the go. The location in Castries is great,if you want to explore the island. The view and privacy of this villa is so much better than shown. It has a gate to the drive, you can't see neighbors, it's awesome. You have to be ready to use the a/c only when you're in your bedrooms(it's super cold), the main part of the house doesn't have a/c, adhere to the hot water schedule, the shower is super hot in the morning and evening. Enjoyed the warm breezes through the main part of the house. All windows and doors open across the entire house. It's beautiful. Embrace it and know that's the experience you're signing up for. Yes, the house needs some TLC but it's not dirty.I would suggest getting all new bath, pool and beach towels. They are very worn and torn. Nice consistent towels would make a big impact. I actually liked the French press, after I found a youtube video, it was fun to make coffee each morning. I would provide ground coffee for your guests or make a cute coffee station. I would also invest in some nice soap dispensers you could refill. The dime store soap pumps make the bathrooms look cheap. I would not advertise walking to the beach. It's not a great experience, hard to get to,unsafe feel, nowhere for your towels, rough water. The beach chairs for guests were rusted and broken.Flores is amazing, have her cook a dinner for you!
La Toc Villa lived up to its listing! A very clean property with a great elevated view of the sea. The family enjoyed opening up the main floor to experience a nice breeze while all bedrooms had very good A/C. WiFi signal was also very good and we enjoyed use of the pool morning and evening after spending the days exploring the island. Matthais came by on a few days to tidy up the garden area and clean the pool. The property is near Castries but generally is about 30 minutes minimum to 1.5 hour maximum drive from most tourist attractions. Beach below the Villa at the La Toc Sandals was not the best so we spent limited time there. The Villa had everything we needed and was well stocked with kitchen needs. Beds were very comfortable and bathrooms were well maintained. Drive up to the Villa is a little steep but if you drive around the island like we did, then it is easy to get used to. We had Flores cook chicken casserole and jerk chicken dinners for us which were very tasty and a good break from cooking ourselves or going out to dinner. She also was very timely in the mornings to complete here daily routine and a pleasant to talk to. We had Alston drive us to/from the airport while also renting a car from Drive-A-Matic delivered to and picked up from the Villa - very convenient! Joan acquired groceries for us and met us upon arrival. She was there to check us out as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & recommend this lovely Villa for anyone visiting St. Lucia!
Le Toc Villa is absolutely gorgeous and comfortable. And the views are amazing! The owners and property manager were so helpful before we arrived and while we were there. Alston, the driver recommended by the villa, was the best driver on the island and a real pleasure to be around. Flores, the villa's housekeeper, was a true pleasure and we came to love the gardner, too. The road leading to the villa is not in great shape and a getting to the beach was a bit of a challenge, but the views more than made up for that. The pool is not heated, so be aware that it is very refreshing. Overall, we had a fantastic vacation and we love St. Lucia. This was an incredibly comfortable place to stay. Also, love the blender, which sounds weird, but it made a great smoothie and pina colada. Get a fresh pinapple from the market and try one yourself! Until next time!
We had a wonderful stay at La Toc Villa. I was a bit hesitant to stay in a self catering villa versus a resort, as we were traveling with 3 teenage boys and I didn't want vacation to be like home for me (cleaning, cooking, laundry). This beautiful villa has an amazing housekeeper, Flores, who comes M-F late morning for a few hours and she was a life saver. With her daily visits the place always was kept us and towels fresh etc. I found it particularly helpful initially as Flores was able to help me figure out the various things at the villa, where to shop locally as well as help keep the place in order (think open sided villa onto pool, towels etc). She also (for an additional 50 USD) cooked us an amazing meal which had leftovers for 3 days - what a treat! Matthias also comes a couple of times a week to take care of the pool and gorgeous garden. This villa is located on the outskirts of Castries, and feels very private with stunning views even though it is the capital and busier city (small). We loved watching the couple of cruise-liners leave every evening and were never up early enough to notice them come in. To be clear, the cruise-liners are not in view of the villa when the dock, they simply quickly sail past in the distance.
Joan is the house manager and even though was off herself on vacation, had everything extremely well organized for us and was in constant communication during our stay. She assisted us with having a rental car delivered and picked up from the villa (much better rate than we found online), and organized their driver, Alston, to pick us up and the airport and drop us back. Joan communicated the cost of the rides in advance - everything was remarkably smooth and organized for the duration of our stay - impeccable so!
This is a 3 bedroom spacious villa with lots of different indoor and outdoor sitting areas so we had plenty of together, or alone time when needed or wanted. Two bedrooms have queen or king beds, one hs 2 twins. The 5 of us were very comfortable with my husband and in the master, 2 boys sharing and the other in his own room. All bedrooms open to a deck or balcony with stunning unobstructed views. There are a couple of inflatable beds available in the villa.
We have stayed in many VRBO's and this one is among the best. Highly recommend!
Hello! We are Mel and Mike from Toronto, Canada. We have been visiting St Lucia many times over the last 15 years, so much so that we have decided to buy La Toc Villa, our own piece of paradise, in 2019. We are happy to share our family's vacation home with our guests and hope that they fall in love with beautiful St Lucia and create memories for a lifetime.
La Toc Villa was built for indoor/outdoor living. The villa's terrace extends the entire length from the kitchen to the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms with folding sliding doors to feel the Caribbean breeze no matter where you are in the villa. We can spend hours on the main deck, in the morning, drinking our coffee, looking at the ocean and watching cruise boats come in. The large master suite upstairs has its own private terrace with sweeping views of the Caribbean and is the perfect spot to watch the beautiful sunsets. We are just a short (but steep) 4 minutes walk to La Toc beach and love going for a walk and a bit of people watching. We just bring our towels when we want to dip our toes in the ocean. The waves can be intense, so when we want to spend time in the ocean with the kids, we usually go to Rodney Bay or Pigeon Island, our favourite beaches. La Toc Villa offers self-catering accommodation and is available for vacation rental all year round. We love that we are in a quiet neighbourhood and for longer stay, we rent a car so we can enjoy the island fully. Otherwise, we call Alston, who is the best and friendliest driver on the island, to drive us around.
The Villa itself was design and built by an Italian architect. It's very different from most residences on the island as it has a more contemporary feel with the indoor/outdoor living. We fell in love with it because we can see the ocean from every room. The design also allow for many private spaces where one can retreat to read, have a nap, or just get gaze at the views. We took great care in re-furnishing the villa, renovating the deck, railing and pool in 2021. We hope you love it as much as we do.
Joan, our property manager will be there to welcome you and give you a tour of the house. She can help you organize transportation from and to the airport, car rental and buy groceries for you. Flores, our housekeeper, goes to the Villa from Monday-Friday to clean during your stay. Bedding and towels will be changed every 4 days. Flores is also an excellent cook and can cook local cuisine for our guests (lunch and dinner only, for $50USD Mon-Fri, $60USD Sat-Sun and Holidays, plus cost of ingredients).
